If i had to chose between it and Eva canon, any Eva canon, I doubt I'd think twice about going to Eva, even if i just have to endure the first arc of RE and have to go through the entire Eva canon.
Definitely agreed. NERV can throw me in the robot all they want, but at least I'd be able to defend myself with the EVA. In Re: Zero, if you don't have Return By Death, you're getting put in an early grave if you piss off the wrong person, Priscilla or Roswaal comes to mind.

I wasn't just talking about the being killed. I mean...well like Shinji, Asuka and Subaru were betrayed by those they thought they can trust, and have lost love ones. But well, Gendo didn't repeatedly kill Shinji, forcing him to try to figure out who did it, only for one such death to lead to him being repeatedly whipped by a chain to confess to being a member of SEELE, which he isn't. And Shinji only had to deal with the Dummy Plug once. How often did Subaru have to deal with similar circumstances to Rem trying to kill him?
The list can go on, but that take a while, i don't really think i have the grammar skills to put all of them here legibly/in a way that makes sense, and...well i think we may be start to derail this Thread if i did.

I have a question in regards to Asuka, Rei and Hikari. In the setting of Advice and Trust, can you imagine any of them as cheerleaders?

Asuka: I mean, if I wasn't so hellbent on piloting... it's a test of one's strength, dexterity, and timing. I don't see why not.

Rei: It seems too... physically taxing. I would rather prefer to watch a movie or read a book. Preferably with Kaworu.

Hikari: Well... I guess I could do callouts if nothing else. I'm sure Toji would nearly faint at the sight of me in such a getup.

Rei would do it if ordered. Or if Shinji or Asuka asked her to. Or if she thought it would control Kaworu's mind. (Kaworu: "It would! It would!")

Asuka: If she thought it would make Shinji extra-crazy for her. Or maybe Rei. Or if Hikari told her it would increase her 'social/hotness prestige' at school.

Hikari: If Asuka was on the team and talked her into it. Or if Asuka told her Shinji told her Touji thought it would be hot.

Closest I can think of such an occurrence was a Halloween one-shot I read that had Asuka dressed in a custom-made NERV cheerleader outfit, while Shinji dressed as the Phantom of the Opera.

Other than that, the only occasion I can picture the trio as cheerleaders is if they were doing some school festival skit where they performed Toni Basil's "Mickey".

"Tensions with parties hostile to NERV in the Human Instrumentality Committee have come to a head," he began without preamble. "We should expect direct action from them very soon, likely through the Japanese government at their direction. Military action is a high possibility."

Misato's jaw tightened. Shinji's text message about his friend's discovery was even more disquieting now. She darted a quick glance at Kaji, then spoke up. "Sir, I may have something to corroborate that."

Commander Ikari's glowing lenses stared at her. "Proceed."

Oh yeah, the voltage level just went from "Nachos bomb" to "Hellfire." I look forward to the continuation of this great story!

Comedy Omake #195 - Kura Ni Kuru 6.1
Hey, page 2017, just so happens to be the year Chronicles was initially set in! What better way to mark the milestone than another Chronicles chapter!

We're starting to get to the crux of Kill La Kill now, here we go!

Ritsuko spent her Monday morning trawling through some newly decrypted Seele files.

A lot of them were useless to NERV. "Oh yeah I always wanted to know how some…" Squinting at the screen. "…Buraito? Burrito?" Shrugging. "How whoever she is laundered money for Seele through her home security business…"

"How's this one?" Maya looking at her own screen. "Requisition form for a box of thumbtacks."

"Maybe they used that to pin up one of their nefarious plans on the nefarious display board…" She would mutter, continuing to scroll through the administrative data.

At least until another terminal made a ding in positive affirmation. "Oh, is that finally done Sempai?"

From one terminal to another she would verify. "…Yeah, looks like the next zip's been unlocked."

The ZIP file in question was ^.zip. They weren't really too sure what the caret meant, but investigating the files would quickly reveal the significance.

Within the ZIP was a folder: 'HL2'. There was also another couple ZIP files within the folder labelled LC.zip and 1.zip.

She could immediately tell it shared DNA with the Portals, sharing the same hl2 executable with the same lambda logo.

"Ah. It's finally happened, hasn't it." She could only chuckle, going for her phone. "Congratulations Aida, you begging the universe actually worked for once."
~

His phone would ring. "AIDA! Turn off your phone in class!"

A flat look to Hikari, holding up his NERV phone.

"…Oh, fair enough." Skittish. "You can take it outside of the classroom."

Stepping outside the door he would answer. "Ah, Akagi. What's the issue?"

"Half Life 2."

The line dropped.

"…What?!"
~

Meanwhile outside of the school, the tumbleweed and company were making the final preparations for their final marathon of Kill La Kill. "Alright, snacks and drinks, everyone got everything?"

"Pretty sure."

"Your internet stable, Kaworu?"

"More or less." Before his video feed glitched briefly.

"All your algorithms ready to spoil things for us, Eliza?"

"You bet!"

"Alright lets get this done!" As they started the next episode.

Character Key:
Shinji (S) Asuka (A)
Rei (R) Kaworu (K)
Eliza (E) Mari (M)
Zero Two (Z) Hiro (H)

Can You Fucking Stop With Your Blatant Incest, Trigger?! (00:00)
A: "Yep I knew I got these for a reason." As she cracked open some German lager, downing a can immediately before opening another one.
M: "Hey Ash, what does it take to get a N-Nephilim drunk?"
K: "I would congratulate the individual who could create a drink that could intoxicate me."
M: "Damn it!"
Z: "At least her theme's still good."
A: "Honestly that's what I'm gonna concentrate on because I really don't wanna pay attention to this."
E: "I'm already deleting it from my memory and I recommend everyone else do the same."
K: "Well, never though I would see Ragyo's head betwixt Ryuko's bosom but here we are."
E: "It's a shame I'm sending all this to the bin because there's some good knowledge in whatever the heck they're saying."
R: "On other notes, it is rather significant imagery of Ryuko bound in the red thread of Life Fibre. Bound to their will, to do what they wish."
M: "She serves them now. W-which means all the weird sexual implications that come with it."
S: "Why are they weirdly sexual anyway? It's almost like they don't care about the familial aspect of it."
K: "She probably doesn't, you know. She is an alien, she'd have differing thoughts about that. Perhaps in her culture it is common to have sexual relations with-"
A: "Kaworu shut up or I'm hanging you up." As she took a few more swigs.
Thankfully for absolutely everyone involved, it was time for Ryuko's transformation. "Oh thank you sweet merciful Jesus!"
S: "Hey has anyone figured out the lyrics of her theme?" In query. "I've never been able to pick up on it with what's been going on."
K: "It isn't Japanese, I narrowed it down to some sort of Germanic language."
A: "Kaworu that's anything from English to Icelandic, and if they're singing this in Icelandic than I applaud them… Although…" As she actually started paying attention to what was spoken. "…fliege höher Laufe vier schenellar, Vergiss die wahrheit nicht- Oh man I should've picked up on that ages ago." Coyly scratching the back of her head.
E: "Well at least I can keep track of that instead of the whole familial relations."
Unfortunately the lyrics just so happened to stop when Ryuko kissed Nui smack bang on the lips "Oh my G-God she's using tongue as well!"
Asuka dry retched at the sight. "I need another beer." She remarked, before chugging the rest of her almost still full 2nd can, picking herself up from the couch continuing to dry retch at the thought. "Anyone else want one?"
S: "Yes please."
H: "Anything would help."
E: "Do you have wine?"
K: "How extensive their indoctrination is for her to do that… and it's almost like they indoctrinated themselves into thinking the same way as well."
A: "Goooooottttttttt this episode has been disgusting so far!" As she threw the cans to all that requested. She would've thrown one to Kaworu as well had it not been for the thousands of miles between them. "If someone suggested five episodes ago Ryuko would french Nui I would've thrown them into a trash bin for even suggesting such horror but here we are." Taking another swig of her drink. "I fucking hate Nui. What did I miss?"
E: "I don't know." Trying her can. "Eh not as good as wine."
A: "That's the spirit!"
E: "It's not spirit, it's beer."

Carrier (3:50)
Much to the author's relief we were past the weirdness, at least as far as they knew (God I hope that doesn't happen again…). "Back to t-the action! Thank you!"
Z: "I like how Satsuki's playing up their 'sisterly' relation as well."
A: "I mean you may as well play along somewhat, try to hit a soft spot in their memory."
S: "Might be a bit difficult considering Kiryuin doesn't have the memory Ryuko does.
A: "Shinji half the cast are Kiryuin's at this point."
Satsuki was able to flawlessly synchronise with Senketsu. "And so the roles are reversed."
R: "At least Satsuki will have support. Possibly. Depends how quickly Ryuko defeats the Elite Four."
M: "Probably u-unfathomably quickly."
Mako stopped them just before the fight began. "Ah, presumedly she wants to fight alone."
A: "It is kinda her fight, ain't it? Still, get support when you can."
H: "But that wouldn't be cool, and we all know that's what Trigger base their stories on."
K: "A fitting analogy for Satsuki, I would think."
M: "Heck even for Ryuko. As long as one b-bit remains you can reconstruct based on that."
R: "…Rather accurate to the real world as well, in my experience."
Despite just meeting Senketsu, she seemed to control his ability well enough.
E: "This level of control, she's staying calm and level headed in this situation. That's why she's won against Ryuko in the past, and why she'll win again."
K: "Even with the reprogramming, there's only so much you can affect. Her personality is still intact, even if her memories were scrambled."
A: "I don't even think Ryuko did a Senjin Shippu."
Z: "With how amused Senketsu seemed at the command."
Cutting to Nui. "Bitch."
M: "That's a lot of L-Life Fibre."
R: "Appropriate for the Shinra-Koketsu, I feel."
Cutting back, with the duo in stalemate.
H: "We have to have them spar with words as well!"
S: "Every show like this has to have something like that."
A: "Shame we couldn't really do that with the Angels."
K: "You did it well enough with me."
E: "Kinda wonder if that was why Senketsu was designed like that. Splitting the difference between being able to harness the Life Fibres and being controlled by the Life Fibres."
Z: "Well we know the Kamui are 100% Life Fibre. You don't need much to get results."
M: "They're kinda sentient a-as well, so I'd say the less you have the better."
S: "Shows the control Junketsu has over Ryuko, at the moment. She is well and truly a slave to the Life Fibres."
The fight started back up. "We shall see if Satsuki is able to retrieve them."
A: "Well she's not doing a good job at it." At her getting destroyed by Ryuko, taking another swig of beer.
K: "Ah so it wasn't synchronisation after all then."
R: "More like trying to command a Pokemon perhaps. She does have a point, unfortunately."
H: "She's pretty much handing her the key to defeating her on a platter, ain't she?"
Z: "Yeah all Satsuki has to do is open her heart to Senketsu completely."
S: "Do you think she'll be able to?"
E: "Depends how many episodes they're gonna stick with the whole 'evil Ryuko' thing."
At least Senketsu had the heart to try convincing Ryuko.
M: "…Hang on, so she c-can't communicate with Senketsu?"
R: "How they can even synchronise is an example of their determination. They both have the same goal, and that is enough to grit their teeth and make do."

Group Think (10:10)
All this determination and yet it wasn't enough for Ryuko's raw power.
A: "And now is when the rest of them join in."
Ryuko's monologging was interrupted with rocket fire to the face.
M: "Geez finally."
R: "They were not going to sit idle while their Lady Satsuki gets destroyed. Though I do wonder what Mako was saying to keep them occupied for that long."
K: "Maybe it wasn't necessarily keeping them occupied, but pointing out it was Satsuki's battle. Being warriors themselves they would understand."
E: "Still, they can only tolerate Satsuki being destroyed so much."
S: "Well now it's Ryuko's turn to be destroyed. Never thought I'd be saying that in a good sense."
Z: "Eh, we all have our 'turned evil' arc." In a shrug.
H: "Only if Trigger wrote our story."
A: "Didn't you get written like twice as an antagonist, Zero Two?"
Z: "There were a lot of high emotions."
Even if they couldn't physically damage Ryuko, their actions were enough to get her in the range of the suction cannon.
M: "Nah that'd be t-too easy, there's gotta be some bullshit reason that stops that from working."
E: "There's still half an episode to go, after all. And I mean they are synchronised, with a whole bunch of micro-needles inserted into her. If you tear off the Kamui while they're synchronised it's probably gonna tear her to shreds."
K: "Either way, it's impressive Mako was able to convey such a plan."
The how she was able to was revealed. "Well that makes it a bit less impressive."
S: "Wow she didn't use Kanji or Katakana, she really didn't have much hope in her."
A: "Even my Japanese is better than that…"
The suck cannon started sucking in the bad sense. "Here we goooo." Mari would roll Kaworu's eyes in response. "Here c-comes the bullshit."
It was Nui, Asuka finishing her drink in response. "Bitch."
Promptly "rescuing" Ryuko, Nui went on to explain why their plan was stupid.
E: "Well, it's even more dire than I thought."
R: "Should have known they would do something so extreme. Fitting that the Grand Couturier is able to stitch the Life Fibre like that."
Z: "It is kinda her thing, ain't it?"
Luckily Mako was able to funnel some of Asuka's anger at that bullshit, diving into the battle head first.

Boardroom (13:10)
It was time for a meeting. "Oh come on!"
K: "You'd think such a monopoly would have been sorted by the governments of the world. Many of them would balk at the prospect of being owned by a Japanese conglomerate."
A: "You underestimate the power of sheer corruption, Kaworu."
Unfortunately all the money and stock options in the would wouldn't end up mattering to the xeroxed men of REVOCS, promptly consumed by the COVERS co-inhabiting the room.
R: "Corruption never ends up paying dividends in the long run. Either your family ends up deposed or you end up consumed by an otherworldly alien."
M: "We need more corruption consuming a-aliens in our world."
We go to Ragyo Kiryuin, overseeing the final preparations for the Original Life Fibre to take flight, a process named "Cocoon Sphere Nativity". As thanks for their service, her stewards were the first to be assimilated.
E: "These names are getting more and more senseless."
Z: "Jeez that's even more threatening than what we faced."
H: "They better not be going to space again."
S: "Well hopefully they sort out Ryuko soon then, otherwise they're gonna be having a lot more problems."
Speaking of, she was still being a thorn in the side of just about everyone, throwing off the Elite Four and even tearing Senketsu to shreds. "You better not be f-far away Mako!"
Luckily for everyone involved, Mako (despite making a rough landing) was able to at least buy some time with her standard technique. "She's really going all out on this one this time."
R: "It is all for the benefit of her close friend."
E: "Her actions are even more nonsensical than usual. And that's saying a lot for her."
A: "Well with how far gone Ryuko is, maybe she has to be like this."
All it ended up doing was make Mako a target for Nui. "I swear to God if she kills her-"
Senketsu would not let that happen, saving Mako and putting himself on for good measure.
M: "Jeez everyone's wearing Senketsu t-today."
S: "Wasn't he just torn to shreds?"
Z: "Ah, the mistake you're making there is you're trying to apply logic."
S: "Oh right, how foolish of me." He muttered. "At least he's courteous enough to say when he's taking blood."
A: "Not that she'd understand."
Tsumugu tried to battle Nui again (and failed, miserably), shortly followed by Satsuki (who was doing a bit better at least).
K: "…Oh right, Satsuki does have a good point with Nui's weapon."
E: "She's obviously afraid that it might unravel as soon as she gets her hands on it. It'll all come rushing back."
A: "Oooh and she's agitated at that! She never gets angry! Fuck yeah Satsuki I can't believe I'm saying that!"
The Elite Four would keep Nui occupied, while the Mankanshoku's went to the defence of Mako.
Z: "They know they'd just get bowled over, and yet they still protect her."
S: "That's what family's for, after all."
Good for them, Satsuki was able to land a hit on her, Senketsu and Mako using the opportunity to full advantage, forcing themselves onto (well more into her).
A: "They couldn't have made that sound more awkward if they tried."
E: "You know how this episode started, right?"
A: "I'm trying to forget that." As she got up for another beer.

Hollow Mind (19:40)
We dive into the mind of Ryuko, Mako and Senketsu crashing the phoney wedding.
R: "And what even is happiness? Ignorance is correlated closely to happiness, but are you truly happy if all you live in amounts to a gilded cage?"
K: "Exactly what Mako thinks. Living in a cage is not a way to live, even if it does convince you that you are happy."
A: "I seemed rather content with my life before coming here, but was I happy? Fuck no I wasn't, and I'm sure after more thought Ryuko would've felt the same too."
S: "If she even lived long enough to think about it. Knowing Ragyo, she was going to use Ryuko as long as she was useful, and then cut her loose."
E: "And that's not exactly caring for someone. Only then would she have realised she was had."
Z: "She's lucky to have people that genuinely care for her. That's what got me out of my slumps. That's why she'll come back."
Their convincing wasn't enough, Ryuko cutting them off, their blood bathing her and the scene.
K: "…Oddly enough, I think this may be enough. Washing herself in their blood might be enough to convince her of their utter dedicating to her."
H: "I dunno, I usually count that as being defeated."
K: "If they were then the last episodes will be utter depression."
A: "What like our show?"
Back in reality, Mako and Senketsu popped out (alive), alongside a large void within.
K: "Perhaps that is the corruption within her."
E: "We can only wait and see."
All that was left was Ryuko panting in exhaustion.
E: "…But I'm getting my hope up, admittedly."
Nui was adamant Ryuko was still on side.
At least until she got a scissor thrown through her chest, her pinned to the bridge on the other side of the ship. "yES!" Asuka jumped up. "FUCK YOU NUI!"
M: "Well well, looks like y-you were right Ash."
K: "Gotta keep the hope up."
Ryuko proceeded to tear Junketsu off her body, despite the risk of death.
Z: "Die free or live a slave, exactly the choice I would've made."

Naked as the day she was born, covered in blood raining from the sky, she made her decision to stick with Senketsu.

And with that, the episode ended.

"Well. That started horrifyingly but that end was pretty awesome." Asuka would sip from her beer. "But why the fuck did they think starting like that was a good idea?!"

"Jeez still on that?" Prodded Zero Two. "Kinda makes how they sexualised us lightweight in comparison."

"At least we weren't siblings or anything."

"Well we don't know that, we could've been cloned from the same few people for all we knew."

"And you made it weird."

"Girl Trigger made it weird."

With her point made, there wasn't much else to do except wait for the next episode.

Understanding Ryuko (00:00)
While it did hurt like hell tearing Junketsu off, it was well worth it for Ryuko.
A: "I mean you were an idiot, Ryuko. But that's not exactly an unknown quantity at this point."
K: "Less she's an idiot and more she's hotheaded."
A: "Yeah which makes her an idiot. I know how it works, Kaworu, I'm a hothead too."
Z: "And hey, she agrees she's an idiot, so it's all good!"
E: "You wanna know how else she's an idiot?"
Eliza didn't need to describe it, Nui eagerly expressing how much of a dummkopf Ryuko was for throwing her scissor at her.
H: "Well we have around three episodes left after this one, so I hope this is where they start winning again. I swear it's like a wave."
Z: "Kinda like our show eh? Hopefully they don't die like we did."
S: "You don't want them visiting our world?"
E: "Yeah about that."
Using Nui as a springboard, Senketsu managed to avoid the double-cut of the scissors, promptly synchronising with Ryuko like it were nothing.
K: "Looks like we're back to the tried and true pairing."
A: "Hopefully nothing else is gonna get in the way of them utterly steamrolling everything."
M: "Judging by the show so far it's n-never gonna be that easy."
A: "I know, but a girl can hope."
R: "The radiance on her." She admired. "If that is how power is reflected in their world, I would be confident in her ability against Nui."

Batshit Crazy (03:10)
One OP later, a very pissed off Ryuko managed to cow Nui. "Ooh I think I'm confident as well!" Asuka backed Rei up. "C'mon girl, put the fear of God into that bitch!"
Her good mood only perked up higher when Ryuko effortlessly parried a wave attack from the Grand Couturier.
R: "You know, I do not think we had really covered the fact it is essentially blood magic for a while."
E: "And yet you still prefer it to anything involving the soul."
R: "AT-Field related subjects invariably relate to the soul. My concern is with an Incubator's use of the soul, actively breaking the bond between body and soul for their own selfish benefit."
A: "Well it's a good thing they're more of less a fairy tale for our world, eh?"
Asuka didn't end up seeing Kaworu scratch the back of his head at the remark.
Z: "Honestly that's a good question, because I'm sure my blood has a large amount of yellow blood cells. If you could decant that you might be able to do something with it."
S: "Do you know how quickly Misato would veto using your or Rei and Kaworu's blood for things?"
A: "Yeah ain't no way she'd let something like that fly unfortunately. Not unless you're very convincing."
R: "I am sure if we consented to such research Misato would be fine with at least checking if our blood had any strange properties."
H: "How about using us as magic blood bags?"
R: "That she would not."
M: "Hang on, is she a-admitting Mako holds a special place in her heart?"
A: "Heh, you never quite know who finds their way into your heart, eh Shinji?" Lightly jabbing him with her elbow.
E: "Eh, it's a better relationship than what's been shown with others."
Z: "I think Ryuko and Mako is at the top of a thin spire, and then everything else in this show is a three hundred thousand metre drop down through the ground to hell."
H: "You know, sometimes you need the crazy people in your life to teach you how to live."
Z: "You can call me crazy if you want darling." With a smirk.
R: "I think we are all a bit crazy at this point. Comes with the Evangelion."
A: "Nothing wrong with a bit of madness I say."
And that was something Nui Harime would never understand, missing the point and immediately losing both scissor blades to Ryuko in a masterful parry.
K: "That comes down to the folly of the Angels as well. We never truly understood why humanity were winning until I properly lived among humanity. Experiencing what they would. To be human is to be a speck of dust in an uncaring universe, but it is also to burn with a great fire as the fact you are even alive spits in the face of it. That's why they'll always win."
In the perhaps thirty seconds this battle would last, Nui would attempt to brainwash everyone with mind stitching, be immediately parried by Ryuko who was immediately parried back by Nui attempting to mind stitch her back by sticking a needle through her throat. "That will not be enough."
Ryuko parried back. "Now you fucked up!"
With a thousand cuts, Nui's arms just popped off, followed by a torrent of blood.
Z: "Can't she just put them back on anyway?"
M: "I'm sure Ryuko's planned for t-that."
Much to Nui's horror, her arms disappeared into their constituent Life Fibres, promptly absorbed into Senketsu.
A: "HAH!" Asuka finished the can and crushed it with a fist. "GET ABSOLUTELY FUCKED!"
Unfortunately, Rei (Hououmaru) was able to rescue her before the finishing blows could be administered.
A: "Well, it's a start." She sighed. "Honestly I'm just glad something's coming back to bite her, only took the entire episodes to do so!"
E: "The fact it is worth it to rescue Nui like this shows her value. They essentially gave Nudist Beach free firepower."
Nudist Beach took full advantage, Gamagori especially showing off the Nonuple-Mount Emergency Rescue Suction Device. More people and more Life Fibres for the cause would never be a bad thing, especially as many of the people were club leaders.
K: "Nui needs to complete the Shinra-Koketsu, if she ends up killing herself that presents a delay to their plans."
S: "So ultimately it's not out of the kindness of her heart, it's business."
A: "Shinji it's always business with Ragyo."

Titan's Blood (08:50)
Still bleeding profusely, Nui was rather pissed at being rescued from certain death, practically bathing the unfazed Hououmaru.
Z: "I dunno, I think losing both your arms counts as a loss."
M: "Nah she can still f-fight, just like the black knight from Monty Python."
R: "Perhaps she would have settled for a draw when she inevitably had all her limbs sliced off."
E: "I like how Hououmaru doesn't care about her ego. It's all about the business, like you say Kaworu."
K: "Even losing her limbs may cause issues for creating the Shinra-Koketsu, unless she gets artificial arms."
H: "Or she quickly learns how to sew with her feet."
The anger quickly left her when Rei pointed out Ragyo would not be pleased at the palaver.
S: "She's still mad."
A: "Oh she's pissed, look at the way that eye moves! She's one step away from going insane!"
R: "More so than she already is."
The sun had started to set on the Naked Sol, obscured by clouds over the horizon, as they figured out what to do with Junketsu.
K: "It amazes me her Kamui is still alive after being shredded."
Z: "Wouldn't surprise me if she tries to wear it again. Helps she kinda needs it."
R: "Perhaps being rebuilt by her will make Junketsu appreciate Satsuki a bit more, help them synchronise a bit better."
E: "Speaking of synchronise, how the hell are those two gonna end up on the same page? After being sworn enemies for the past series."
A: "Nothing a bit of violence won't fix. Bet she'll ask Ryuko to punch her a few times."
S: "Works for some people, Toji definitely wanted me to get him back that way."
And that's specifically what Ryuko asked for. "Why am I not surprised she asked that."
A: "Because we're similar to her in a few ways."
Z: "Oh yeah, and you bet she'll agree to it."
Satsuki did. "Gotta say though she l-looks great in a trench coat."
K: "She has her reasonings as well. If she falls to Ryuko now, she would've had no hope in facing Ragyo."
E: "It'd save her the trouble of facing her mother, at least."
R: "I get the impression Satsuki would not let death get in the way of her plans."
There was great anticipation, before Ryuko lunged right at Satsuki's face.
Only to hit Gamagori.
And Sanageyama.
Z: "Oh come on girl that was weak! You could've toppled both of them!"
K: "She knows deep down she wants Satsuki on her side. Perhaps this is just soothing her hot headed side."
A: "Man and they're complaining about that punch! Bet I could punch harder than that."
R: "As they say, Satsuki deserves a full-assed punch."
M: "I mean earlier I w-would've said that but now I'm not too sure."
E: "Goes to show how absolutely loyal the Elite Four are to her. No matter what, they won't leave her side. Everyone in their life deserves people like that."
S: "They make a strange team, those five."
A: "Hey so do we, but we're still pretty close eh?"

Kindred Spirits (12:30)
And it hit Ryuko like a sack of bricks. "There you go!"
R: "Just as the OP depicted, their paths are parallel to one another. The ultimate result of this is they are remarkably similar."
Z: "They are sisters, so maybe it runs in the family."
S: "Crazy attracts crazy, eh?"
M: "Ain't that just t-the story of our lives."
K: "Even so, even Satsuki seemed to realise she could not just manipulate people to doing her bidding, if she wanted to win. That's what Ragyo does. If they are to get on top of her, they need to go a different tact."
A: "Man this really is a bit like Gurren Lagaan, isn't it?"
S: "Wouldn't even surprise me at this point if those studios had some crossover. There's a lot of similarities between Trigger and Gainax."
H: "I don't think Trigger have traumatised as much, all things considered."
Z: "I dunno they tried their best."
R: "One of the similarities of note: the belief that the world is a beautiful thing that needs protecting."
E: "I mean that's just the normal thing to think, right?"
A: "Not in worlds of megalomaniacal dickheads, like our world. There's a lot of beauty to be had in the world, even ones as awful as ours or theirs."
K: "You really need to see the forest for the trees when it comes to that. Individual tragedy doesn't automatically write off the remainder of the world, even if it certainly feels like that."
S: "That's what I eventually realised in the Laserdiscs. Bit of a shame I had to end the world before realising that."
K: "It's difficult to think that way at the time."
M: "Hey, at least here they ain't ending the world anytime s-soon. I think."
Z: "We still have like 3 episodes after this one, plenty of time."
A: "At least they've made up. Even if Satsuki's apology was pretty over the top. But hey, that's just her at this point, ain't it?"
And hey, they could all celebrate the occasion over mystery croquettes!
S: "Wonder if I should try making croquettes some time…"
A: "Ones you could put actual good meat in, too!"
E: "Maybe they taste better when they have all the weird meats in it."
A: "I'd rather not have rat meat in a croquette."
M: "Hey I'm sure once m-minced it all blends together."
A: "I'm not eating bone and rat croquettes!" Taking a swig. "I'm from West Germany, damn it!"
M: "That bad huh?"

Cell (15:30)
Ryuko bought things back to reality, the scene transitioning toward Ragyo on the phone with Rei (not that Rei the other Rei!)
Z: "I find it kinda amusing they still have to use cellphones despite having all these alien powers."
A: "Can't deny they're convenient."
M: "I'm surprised they get s-signal that high up. There's a reason you don't get cell signal in a plane."
S: "You're meant to have flight mode on anyway!"
M: "Pssh you think people really l-listen to that kinda thing?"
You know who should've listened? Nui Harime, who had resorted to using her teeth to sew. "HAH!"
R: "I still think using her feet might have been better."
E: "I don't think she's really thinking clearly at the moment. Rather interesting she's in this position now, usually it's Ryuko that gets hot under the collar."
A: "Believe me, cutting off someone's arms is a good way to piss them the fuck off."
E: "I don't think that really needs to be taught."
M: "Nah you only need to see that episode of F-Futurama where Fry and Zoidberg fight."
A: "Oh and he cuts off his arm? Yeah he was so pissed at that! See what Nui Harime should've done is start beating them with her own severed arms!"
H: "With what limbs?"
A: "Oh right they actually disintegrated them didn't they? Eh, not complaining." Taking a sip.
Back to the Naked Sun, Iori in the middle of modifying Junketsu to better suit their purposes.
S: "I suppose technically it's re-tailoring."
M: "Man this makes making c-clothing actually kinda cool. Wonder how Claire's sister would react to all this…"
A: "Someone you knew?"
M: "Well not really knew properly, she was several g-grades below me, but her sister is a couturier."
Z: "She'd probably pull her hair out over this show."
R: "We do not need to keep an eye on her, do we?"
M: "Not that I know of, she never seemed like the kinda g-girl to be evil." With a sigh, clearly thinking back. "The student coordinator seemed to think highly of her, the principal too. Both of them were always good judges of character, so I'd trust their assessment."
A slight moment, as Iori transformed into Tailor's Regalia.
E: "Do you ever feel like going back, sometimes?"
Mari definitely had to think about that. "…Sometimes. I'm sure they've moved on, though. It's been… over t-two years since I left them. No point opening up old wounds, I feel."
R: "We will see, Mari."

Before My Body Is Dry (16:55)
While Iori would couturier, Satsuki ran through the scenario and plan.
K: "Ah, so they've always been a parasitic race."
H: "Rather long term planning, surely it'd take thousands of years to get their food ready."
R: "It is all about how much they get out of it. Almost reminds me of what an Incubator might do."
M: "At least they can s-still have a laugh about things."
A: "Ah you gotta find the joy in life, even if it's beating you down. Do what makes you happy and all that, God knows I'm trying to live by that."
Having hacked into the REVOCS satellites, they were able to get a preview as to what would await them.
E: "Well that wouldn't be good, they transmit that it's game over."
S: "So the goal will be to stop them before that can happen. Hell, might even be able to just destroy the school and do that."
Inumuta also had something else to report, missiles striking their ship. "Oh thanks for telling them about that, really useful!" Derided Zero Two.
The die was cast. Mikisugi was put in charge of destroying the transmitter with the rest of Nudist Beach, while the daughters would keep their mother occupied.
A: "Oh my God she's blushing! She's trying so hard damn it!"
R: "After everything, I am not surprised she reacts this way."
H: "They haven't exactly had the smoothest of relationships."
E: "Man how did I not realise they were sisters earlier, look at how similar they are! Eyes, face shape, hair colour, gah!"
As if emphasising this similarity, their transformation sequence played side by side in letterbox, all the while Before My Body Is Dry played in the background.
A: "Fucking awesome!"
S: "No one's denying they're sisters now."
E: "I would've hoped so."
Both transformed into their flight form, taking out a few missiles on their way.
Z: "Man if only it was that easy to learn new things."
R: "Unfortunately we have blood types to deal with in this world."
E: "They're sisters anyway, odds are they have matching blood types."
But their journey to Honnoji would be delayed slightly, a combat type COVER emerging from the ocean.
A: "Oh great, it's Gaghiel."
M: "Another little bit of bullshit to g-get in their way! This show's good at that."
S: "Our world's good at that."
Luckily for them, they had another bit of bullshit that could help. "Holy shit Mako!"
Z: "That's a lot of words on the screen."
A: "Hell yeah go get 'em!"

She would go get 'em next episode. "Oh come on!" In plea. "C'mon get to the next one already!"

"Do you even want to watch the prev-"

"Nope!" She blurted. "I just wanna see it!"

"Okay." Rei didn't bother to argue, putting on the next episode immediately.

Whoa boy we're so close to the end of KLK!
Sorry to cut it there :p you bet I'm excited to see the end of it though!

You know who else would be excited to see something? Kensuke. He's been waiting forever for Half-Life 2!
Okay it's really only been just over a month :V funny how the timelines seem to go on for much longer than that when I only release half a chapter every so often. But hey, once they get through HL2 and the episodes, they'll be able to wait forever to see HL3! Just like the rest of us unfortunate bastards! :p
I am a cruel author to my characters :V

So get hype for that! And for everything else we have planned, because boy howdy there's a lot that we need to explore once we get started with Lambda, but that's for the future.

Poll will be released with the next chapter segment, stay tuned!

This is one of those questions where whomever of the Chronicles peeps answers first gets glares, methinks. But over here, I think many NGE fans have dived into the expanded Kill la Kill material. (BG perhaps edit your last post to include the OVA?)

I was gonna put the OVA in the next part, don't worry :)
From what I read it's set after the main plot of the show anyway, so hopefully it'll serve as a bit of an epilogue to the story.

Hey, page 2017, just so happens to be the year Chronicles was initially set in! What better way to mark the milestone than another Chronicles chapter!

We're starting to get to the crux of Kill La Kill now, here we go!
And what a crux it is, eh?

Great reactions as usual, and though i've run into my usual problem of "read it on my phone, forgot to quote as I was reading", a few fun bits stuck out to me or just made me think/chuckle/both.
Even if I may or may not know some of what's coming, that doesn't mean I can't be surprised by some things in the immediate. :p

Just another blight on society, then. With how many tendrils SEELE had around the world, these files are going to be turning up all sorts of varied crooks. It'll probably be a long while til every last one of them is rooted out.

Within the ZIP was a folder: 'HL2'. There was also another couple ZIP files within the folder labelled LC.zip and 1.zip.
Hmmmm...
LC, eh?

Stepping outside the door he would answer. "Ah, Akagi. What's the issue?"

"Half Life 2."

The line dropped.

"…What?!"
"I'll clear my schedule."

"No dice, Aida! Finish your classwork, then we'll talk."

Titan's Blood (08:50)
If I didn't already know what you've been watching, BG, these would be pretty damn telling. :p

Back to the Naked Sun, Iori in the middle of modifying Junketsu to better suit their purposes.

I'm sure she would.
Given the trends, so far, i'm curious to see if anyone works out who all these characters actually are. :p

E: "Do you ever feel like going back, sometimes?"
Mari definitely had to think about that. "…Sometimes. I'm sure they've moved on, though. It's been… over t-two years since I left them. No point opening up old wounds, I feel."
R: "We will see, Mari."
I mean... everyone's gotta move on sometime, right? Its definitely the healthy thing to do...

Whoa boy we're so close to the end of KLK!
Sorry to cut it there :p you bet I'm excited to see the end of it though!
Its definitely a sight to behold. :p

Yes, yes you are. :p

Unlike us, though, time difference means he won't be waiting nearly as long, assuming it comes out at all, so he has that going for him.

In the relative meantime, Half-Life: Alyx might at least lessen the weight of it slightly, as it did for all of us. :)

So get hype for that! And for everything else we have planned, because boy howdy there's a lot that we need to explore once we get started with Lambda, but that's for the future.
There's so much there's effectively a list, at this point, and I for one can't wait to see it in full form. :p
So many words. So, so many words...

Poll will be released with the next chapter segment, stay tuned!
Woohoo! :D

I was gonna put the OVA in the next part, don't worry :)

Eh, as good as.
No, I will not elaborate on what I mean by that. :p

I mean, unless whatever multiverse drops a VR headset into their world along with it, that might be a while too.
And that's before Ritsuko has to figure out how to make a system that can support VR.

If I didn't already know what you've been watching, BG, these would be pretty damn telling. :p

You missed one too at that :p

Given the trends, so far, i'm curious to see if anyone works out who all these characters actually are. :p

I'd certainly hope so, I'm not exactly being subtle about it :V

No, I will not elaborate on what I mean by that. :p

Oh boy it's gonna be one of those episodes ain't it? :V

And that's before Ritsuko has to figure out how to make a system that can support VR.

"Ritsuko why on Earth do we all of a sudden need to upgrade the Magi? Wasn't it meant to have enough computing power to suit our needs for over a century?"

"Yeah well that was before we started getting sent video games with absolutely absurd system requirements." In a mutter, shoving a third human brain into a comically oversized funnel.

I mean... everyone's gotta move on sometime, right? Its definitely the healthy thing to do...
... ... ...I am probably not going to put this right but...well, that kind of sounds what Gendo did to Shinji; "i am going to cause more issue in their lives so i should stay away". Don't get me wrong; there is a difference for what Mari is doing and you are not wrong(if Gendo moved on from Yui half of the crap that was the Eva plot wouldn't have happened). But it will lead to someone getting hurt, or will lead to someone not getting hurt doesn't mean it's wrong or right respectively. In this case i'm pretty sure friends would at least like to know she's alive.

GOSH DANG IT.
I STILL HAVEN'T READ THE LAST PART YET
AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
i'll get there i'll get there
but still...
AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH.

In the meantime, here, have an update to that NGE FNF mod (I think? I'm pretty sure) I showed a bit ago. Complete with an Angel battle and new bonus songs!

View: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QtacTcds5rI
Question though, for anyone who's read the Evangelion manga: is it true Asuka's homophobic? Because the mod mentions that manga!Asuka's apparently homophobic and if that's true, I'm like "welp. guess that's gonna be interesting for the chronicles to see. and by interesting i mean they're probably gonna cringe at manga!asuka".

why yes i'm lazy to look up the answer to my question above myself right now what of it? :V

It's not the main manga Asuka that's homophobic, but the one from Angelic Days.

No matter how it ends up being, I think they're all gonna have some concerns about their characterisations in the manga.
I mean c'mon Kaworu literally murders a cat in his introduction, if that's not an omen of how the manga changes things I don't know what is :V
And looking at Asuka's synopsis for the manga, there's probably gonna be a whole heap more things Asuka will be concerned about.

That's not even the worst of it. Manga Kaworu is generally just an extremely fucking creepy guy when it comes to Shinji (probably my least favorite depiction of Kaworu because he's like a borderline sexual harasser) who gets the shit beat out of him by Shinji. He didn't get the nickname "Evil Manga Kaworu" from fans for no reason.

Is that the one where everyone is fighting the Angels that have human forms now? Or is it the one where everyone is in a more Slice Of Life setting where Rei is more lively, everyone parents are still alive, but the Angels as they are in the first series is a thing but we don't actually see them fight them?

Even i, the guy who's characterization sucks something fierce even now a days, could tell that something was off with him and quite a few others back then. That's just a new level of fail.

It's the slice of life one.

And yeah, the manga is weird. Shinji, Kaworu, and Asuka characterizations have been discussed in this thread already, but the fact that the manga veers from Reishin into "nvm Rei and Shinji see each other as family" then has an Asushin ending anyway is very, very bizarre. Like Sadamoto invested himself in a different pairing than the anime, but chickened out at the last minute. Then again, Manga EOE is just so WTF in general.
