. . . okay now I'm picturing an Evangelion/RWBY crossover and i'm not sure how that would mesh or what would be more worrisome; Yang in an Eva, Asuka with a polymorphic weapon or Ruby anywhere in the vicinity of the positron sniper rifle.

"Okay, but does it turn into a scythe?"

"What?"

"Does.It.Turn.Into.A.Hueg.Scythe?"

Or Ristuko discovering how to give an EVA Aura with all its boosts and Semblances.

Greensun's Psychoanalysis of the Children
So, since we are eating and this is has basically turned into Evangelion General thread, I'm going to talk about something I've been researching for my own fics.

The Children's psychological make up and the conditions there in that they suffer from.

Do note I'm using the series and not @Strypgia'a fic as a basis for this analysis, he's taken the more sympathetic outlook of the various characters. (or perhaps they simply never got the chance to get worse.)

Shinji is the simplest; at the start of the he is prone to depressive episodes and has a degree of Social Aversion Disorder, though not as large as has the memes has led a lot of people to believe. He can be quite social once he gets over the initial bump and he even stands up to Asuka fair bit once he's familiar enough, the kid finds it hard to make first contact but one he's there he usually fairly decent at interacting, even if he is a bit of a pushover.

Once the series progresses, he gets worse. Shinji develops PTSD as a result of the pain and physical injuries he sustains from the war, and the death and injuries of his friends and loved ones, one of whom he has to murder, this results in a massive depressive episode that leaves him passively suicidal, he doesn't even attempt to save himself from the JSDF. There is also his sexual frustration that he develops while being near Misato and Asuka, the former being an adult woman who in the best case has absolutely no boundaries even around a teenage child and in the worst case is a closeted Hebephile who is attempting to get him to make the first move (which the really unsympathetic look at it, I'd say Misato simply never learned boundries), and the later deliberately (and clumsily) tries to entice him into sexual contact. Normally he'd just deal with this in usual manner of young teenage boys, but the pressure cooker environment and the huge amount of stress boils over into the sexual assault of his comatose friend as he losses his impulse control. Which further deepens his depression and is the main reason he's suicidal, he committed a horrific act on someone he cared about not through in action and his father's callous nature, but because he lost control of himself.

He also has an Oedipus complex, but I'd be here all day with that kettle of fish.

Asuka is the worst out of all the Children; she's got PTSD from her mother's suicide, an Electra complex that she probably developed after hearing her father's affair, a huge case of Pediophobia and most importantly, probably the most iconic example of Histronic Personality disorder in any form of media.

I'd like to make a point here; A lot of people think that Asuka has a narcissistic personality disorder, which is to say an over blown sense of self worth at its simplest. Histrionic Personality on the other hand is an excess degree of attention seeking behavior, to quote Wikipedia:

Histronic Personality Disorder said:
Histrionic personality disorder (HPD) is defined by the American Psychiatric Association as a personality disorder characterized by a pattern of excessive attention-seeking emotions, usually beginning in early adulthood, including inappropriately seductive behavior and an excessive need for approval.

To make it simple, she cannot validate her own sense of self-worth, she needs other people to do it. She hangs off of Kaji, bugs Shinji and derides her supposed rivals ; she insults both Misato, who is a sexual rival for both Shinji and Kaji, and Rei, who competes with her for being the best EVA pilot and for Shinji, all she for the sole purpose of her reinforcing her own shoddy and crumbling sense of self-worth. It is also why she's placed almost all of her self-esteem on being the best EVA Pilot; she is not only the probably the best Pilot in terms of raw ability, if a fight between the Children were to happen and Shinji didn't have his mother I'd honestly say she'd pick the other two apart, but she got genuine praise for, and for a child who has such a huge Histrionic disorder it must have been better than crack cocaine.

And then it all started to fall apart when Shinji began to out perform her, causing her sense of worth to plummet faster than a rock, and then she was utterly violated by Ariel, who brought all of her trauma's and fears and forced her to relieve those moments. That broke her and she soon fell into a coma soon after she attempted suicide via exposure. Though whether this was because of the trauma she received from Ariel and the complete destruction of her ego, or from the physical stress of laying in frigid standing water while exposed to the elements is not known, but I'd say its probably a mixture of both.

Rei is the hardest; simply put she is not human enough for me to gauge whether she has any disorders or trauma's or if that she is just the norm for a Human/ Progenitor hybrid, but I'm going to continue anyway and presume she's mostly human psychologically speaking.

The first and most obvious thing is that she sits somewhere on the Autistic spectrum, she can be blunt and is very ignorant of social norms; she very rudely dismissed Asuka's attempt at making friends, even though if it wasn't done in good faith most people would have simply said yes to an offer of friendship from someone they knew they'd be spending a lot of time with just for sake of a civility, and Rei also let a boy she barely knew see her naked and grope her, though that was just bad luck of Shinji's part, without any complaint,

Not because she wanted him to see her naked, but because she legitimately saw no issue with a strange boy seeing her naked and touching her intimately in places that would put of a normal girl, even if she was reasonable enough to see it as an accident.

Rei also places no value on her survival, she gladly used a N2-Mine as a lance and she readily believes she can be replaced. Which is true, and that has had no small effect on her. The only social connection she has before Shinji is Ritsuko, who hates her, and Gendo, who is a broken mess of a man who sees her both as utterly expendable and as the last piece of his wife he has. And as much as we like to rag on Asuka for being aggressive and unsociable, she at least tried, Rei doesn't even do that. So she also places little value social ties, at least beyond those to the Ikari men at the start of the series.

That isn't to say she doesn't have empathy, she tries to help Asuka while she was in the middle of her breakdown with some advice on the nature of an EVA and how to connect with it, but that didn't go so well. Again she picked the wrong time and place, right after a Sync test that showed her plummeting score and in an elevator, which a enclosed space, Asuka probably felt trapped in there with the person she both hates and triggers her Pediophobia.

Well, there it is, I hope even some of you guys find it intresting.

I think it's also perfectly possible that she simply grew up to be this way thanks to Gendo's stellar parenting skills. Or, as you've mentioned, her Angelic nature prevents her from fruitfully interacting with people. Or maybe she would have had a unique insight into other people thanks to carrying Lilith's soul if Gendo hadn't interfered, like here in A&T.

It's sold in my country as Fluomucil. It usually comes a seltzer. Now I know why.

Not much an argument. With something on the order of 1x10-26m between air molecules, the odds of getting a free path between the muzzle and Ramiel is basically 0.

The way I saw it was not really to annihilate Ramiel but rather take advantage of tens of trillions of annihilations with the air to basically destroy his AT field.

[Psychology stuff]

My mom's a psychologist and she will have a field day with discussing eva.

The simpliest answer is that all of the above play their part.

My first thought was that problem is that those annihilations will start right at the muzzle, and continue unabated all along the beam path... Which would be less than good for well anyone.

But it occurs to me that the shock front from the first few billion e+/e- reactions will create a vacuum behind the pressure wave, thus allowing successive particles to travel further before they hit normal matter.... The effect would be almost like Ramiel's counterattack in 1.11.

Hmmm, shock fronts make me inclined to thinksay that the interaction between an e+ beam and the surrounding atmosphere would lead to some Rayleigh-Taylor instabilities basically shooting fingers of radiation at an angle away from the directed beam. Which might be unhealthy.

Although, I suppose the electron/positron annihilation pressure would be great enough to override the necessary timescale required for RTI to occur. But then again this instability happens in Supernova core collapse events where the core of a star collapses and rebounds in a matter of a few hours. That is, a lot of material covering a lot of distance very rapidly. I'm no particle physicist, but I'd be interested to know if the energy output of a positron beam would stack up to the energy output of a supernova (10^49 to 10^53 ergs).

I really should have took more than just a nuclear astrophysics course in college. I feel like I should understand this better by topical analogy.

Also, ALL that heat that should be generated in the surrounding area from simply taking an entire country's power grid and condensing it to a series of capacitors on a mountain...

WARNING: I probably used wrong science names, it's been awhile since I did anything with astrophysical hydrodynamics.

And that's why Eva is sometimes called DSM-V: The Anime! Not a lot to disagree with here. Everything in canon applies up until Shinji kisses her back, after all. So pretty much all of this still applies to the cast until the changes start to affect them. My only minor difference:
I'd like to make a point here; A lot of people think that Asuka has a narcissistic personality disorder, which is to say an over blown sense of self worth at its simplest. Histrionic Personality on the other hand is an excess degree of attention seeking behavior
None of us are actual psychiatrists, so it's hard to really diagnose this, but I've always varied between whether Asuka was Histrionic or a Compensatory Narcissist: "Seeks to counteract or cancel out deep feelings of inferiority and lack of self-esteem; offsets deficits by creating illusions of being superior, exceptional, admirable, noteworthy; self-worth results from self-enhancement." ie: She acts like she's the best because she deeply fears she's nothing.

And not to be too mean to Asuka, but in some ways it's hard to distinguish her drama-seeking and such as not just 'acting like a teenage girl'.

Anyhow, writing is happening. Enjoy the WAFF while it lasts, since the Bastard King is becoming aware things are afoot in his fiefdom.

Maya Ibuki is: The Winter Soldier.

God, imagine what it would do to Ritsuko now if you took Maya and got into her brain like that. Harder nose dive than canon?

Enlighten me. I always was a fan of dark humor.
... I am going to fail your expectations even harder than I thought. I am so sorry.

I got from a character whose name sounds alot like Maya's.
They are both young girls looking to do their best and not-so-secretly want to get in their Sempai's pants for lesbian-cuddle-time.
They are also key side-kicks to their Sempai.
If you need one more hint, the characters name is where alot of Evangelion women get their last names.
Have you guess it yet?

Fubuki! *self-respect quietly cries in corner*
1. Fubuki, Ibuki
2. The Fuckbucky makes that inhuman expression when thinking about Akagi-Sempai.
3. I could make the excuse I was thinking about Cap's sidekick, but my taste is too shit and parents' retirement money too limited to watch actual quality entertainment.
4. And in case it wasn't obvious already, that is IJN Fubuki, as portrayed in the not-crap-but-not-good anime adaptation of Kantai Collection.
4a. That is her given nickname by the actual postergirl for the show, Kongou-DESS~
EDIT:

1. Superwomen of Evangelion might have gone that route at some point, I don't know.
2. We've seen what the Instrumentality Committee will do. That is more likely that you think.

Because the day I want to go back to being depressed and believing the world is an utter shithole and we really should just blow up all our nuclear weapons, I will just put on the friggin' news.

Go play Dex if you can. It has the same kind of sci-fi world plot for it's story as Eva does, but it's a lot more uplifting in the execution department.

If that's 'in that part of the world', Dmol8, FlyingScanian, me and quite a bunch of others will accompany him. :V

You joke about this, but I am perfectly capable of navigating my way to Strypgia's deployment base if I have a need to get there. Also since this is SV I have to put in this disclaimer: Reaching Strypgia's location in order to tell him to not go GRRM on this fic is not a need for the definition of my navigation skills. Go fork this fic if you stop liking the writing direction Stryp takes it in.

According to the map, Saudi Arabia is a lot closer to Kuwait than Austria, England, or Iowa.

I live in Serbia. FlyingScanian is in Sweden according to his profile. I get that you were responding to The Englanderish as well and maybe I'm misremembering this, but I don't remember that they is vacationing in Iowa. Take your time to see if people are sharing their locations in their profiles before you leave a message that talks about their geographical locations.

I agree with all of this and the rest of the stuff you said about the children, but I think there is one more thing that adds to Rei's behavior: Her room looks like it's being used by an Ascetic cult member. So I think that Gendo made her upbringing resemble the upbringing a child would have in an Ascetic cult after Rei I got strangled by Naoko Akagi.

Edit: As Ranma-sensei has pointed out that The Englanderish doesn't have their gender shown in their profile I have switched to a gender neutral they when talking about them.

Concerning Asuka's inferiority complex:

Is it just me or does the left cup of her plugsuit's breast plate seem smaller in pictures of Asuka Soryu and in the series and EoE (and specifically not with Shikinami in Rebuild, were they seem to be both the same size)?
