I agree that taking in as many refugees as possible is the best thing to do, but please vote for something that won't drop Centralisation by 2. We need as much Centralisation as possible to deal with the refugees.

GUYS! Star Mirror/Black Mirror isn't a better spot for studying the stars. It's better for meditation because of the water, but if you want to actually look at the sky and study the movements of the stars in relation to the earth, Horse Valley is what you want because it has better sight lines.

We have three events predicted by genius heroes. Perhaps we should acknowledge they know more than us about the world they live in being geniuses?

Nope. It has a very reflective lake which you can see the stars in, but Horse Valley is better for actual stargazing.

The Centralization drop only reduces our temp econ damage by 1. We need the Econ Expansion and safe Enforce Justice more.

All this meteor talk and shaking of world view talk is really reminding me of the Ahriman audio book when Be'laqor is going on about "The consolation of ignorance" and whatnot.

It also amazes me how committed people are to a Spiritualist universe, everything can be explained so far, though were starting to get stuff hard to explain due to how limited our point of view is.

Not really, shes a Genius martial, so her talent is manifesting in her insanity
I have to admit that I'm not sure how to explain away her going "Oh god so much death" right before a meteor fell without involving magic.

B-but Highland Kingdom delenda est? Well, whatever, more land is more land. I still think our borders would be more secure if we'd absorbed the HK instead, but this turned out much better than I expected. I'm tempted to expand all the way East, but I'm not sure if we can hold all that land. This way we can at least absorb a lot of people.

[] [Conq] The land is cursed, pull back (Thunder Speakers break away, rest of the Thunder Horse fragment into desperate city states)

Avoid making a landgrab. Not really any reason to do so.

[] [Conq] Just the western parts (Thunder Speakers become vassal, Txolla annex additional territory, rest of the Thunder Horse fragment into desperate city states)

Maximum 'safe' grab. Highly advantageous since it puts their Natural Wonder under our control

[] [Conq] Take the northern lowlands (Thunder Speakers become vassal, Txolla annex additional territory, gain Ruined Thunder Horse as vassal, remainder fragment, -4 Econ and 4 temporary Econ damage from supporting wrecked vassal)

We can actually afford this, and it is TRUE Charity to help those ruined.
This means we basically take the whole Lowlands

[] [Conq] Push to the East (Gain all previously listed territories, forces actively fight with surviving Mountain Horse cities, -8 Econ and 8 temporary Econ damage from supporting wrecked vassals and distant war missions)

I don't see any point in taking this however.

[] [Refugee] Take as many who run to you (4 temporary Econ damage, -4-5 Econ Expansion, +4-5 Econ next turn, chance of stability drop)
[] [Refugee] Send out runners that you have food and intact farmland (6 temporary Econ damage, -6-8 Econ Expansion, -1 Stability, chance of further loss, +6-8 Econ next turn)
[] [Refugee] Use the military to evacutate as many as possible (8 temporary Econ damage, -9-11 Econ Expansion, -2 Stability, chance of further loss, +9-11 Econ next turn, incompatible with most ambitious conquest option)

This depends on how much we grab, but if we take all the northern lowlands we don't need to do more than the minimum.

[] [PttS] Black Mirror

On a major trade route, natural connecting point between Dragon Graveyard and Sacred Forest as well as between Western Wall and the rest of the North. Very accessible by sea, which means it's a 3 day journey from any coastal part of the country.
Better for ocean navigation type astrology.
Natural reflecting pool gives an asset for precise depth of sky that cannot be replicated until the industrial age when we can make mirrors that big.

[] [PttS] Horse Valley

Has the advantage of high altitude to view the horizons. The long lines of sight gives better star maps, but also makes it harder to study specific sections until we invent the tools for it.
Somewhat out of the way.
Good spot for a modern observatory, but limited utility until Optics

[] [PttS] 0 Stability
[] [PttS] 1 Stability
[] [PttS] 2 Stability

Well...if we aren't taking the big refugee hits we should kick it once.
Otherwise we can kick it later

[] [Diplo] Send out reassurances (Sec Trade Mission to Khemetri, Trelli, and Harmurri)

Establishes trade ties properly to leverage the political situation.
We'd help them clean up that pyramid they shat.

[] [Diplo] Victory lap (Main Salt Gift)

We have the Wealth for it certainly

[] [Diplo] Let's maybe spread out in case the gods throw another bolt (Found Far Northern Trade Post)

This is as good a time as any, we have a spare mercenary company and everyone is too busy shitting bricks to attack us until we get it stabilized. If you wanted it.

[] [Diplo] Stay home, write panic driven poetry (Main Build Theatre)

And we've never built a theatre yet!

[] [PSN] Majorly push forward forests (Main Expand Forests, -2 Centralization)
[] [PSN] Lots more black soil (Main Black Soil, -2 Centralization)
[] [PSN] Massively push forward farms (Main Expand Econ, -2 Centralization)

Reminder that this will increase our Temp Econ damage. We use Centralization /3 for the calculation

[] [PSN] Push forward forests (Sec Expand Forests, -1 Centralization)

We've already used up our forestry buffer. More wouldn't hurt

[] [PSN] Bit more black soil (Sec Black Soil, -1 Centralization)

Actually very useful if we take the bigger refugee dumps

[] [PSN] Push forward farms (Sec Expand Econ, -1 Centralization)

We got a lot already, no need for more.

[] [PSN] Keep it under control (Do not activate this turn)

Save Cent for later.

I'll go with:

[X] [Conq] Take the northern lowlands (Thunder Speakers become vassal, Txolla annex additional territory, gain Ruined Thunder Horse as vassal, remainder fragment, -4 Econ and 4 temporary Econ damage from supporting wrecked vassal)
[X] [Refugee] Send out runners that you have food and intact farmland (6 temporary Econ damage, -6-8 Econ Expansion, -1 Stability, chance of further loss, +6-8 Econ next turn)
[X] [PttS] Black Mirror
[X] [PttS] 0 Stability
[X] [Diplo] Let's maybe spread out in case the gods throw another bolt (Found Far Northern Trade Post)
[X] [PSN] Bit more black soil (Sec Black Soil, -1 Centralization)

If I'm calculating this correctly, this will still give us a Golden Age next turn, the pop explosion should continue(11-8+3+3(trade Post) = 9, which when you add our colonies, lets us just barely absorb the full 14 Econ of an explosion next turn AFTER the refugees cash in and trigger econ overflow).

[X] [Refugee] Use the military to evacutate as many as possible (8 temporary Econ damage, -9-11 Econ Expansion, -2 Stability, chance of further loss, +9-11 Econ next turn, incompatible with most ambitious conquest option)
[X] [PSN] Lots more black soil (Main Black Soil, -2 Centralization)
We just found out that magic is real, so helping as many people as possible is certainly the best, most pious thing to do, but please don't vote for that Centralisation option. The higher our Centralisation is, the better we can handle the massive refugee intake and the more our Admin King will be able to act.

[] [Conq] The land is cursed, pull back (Thunder Speakers break away, rest of the Thunder Horse fragment into desperate city states)

Avoid making a landgrab. Not really any reason to do so.
Admin issues is a good reason. We're now doing two megaprojects at the same time, are bringing in refugees, and generally dealing with the fallout of what is essentially a miniature apocalypse. Our king has a lot of shit to deal with.

I recall this location being the most appropriate for stargazing.
Horse Valley is better:
Horse Valley - Location: Stonepen

A broad box canyon that has had living structures sprout up along the perimeter, Horse Valley serves both as a place to house sacred herds of cattle and horses for the Stonepen region and as the premier star gazing location, renowned for its clear nights and excellent sight lines. While a favorite with locals and mystically inclined shamans, it is far enough off the main trails that it gets comparatively little attention for its age. The founding of the Heaven's Hawk has considerably increased its traffic, and sacred falconers have begun to appear among the priests and shamans.

Star Mirror - Location: Blackriver

A curiously out of place sinkhole in dark stone, the water that collects in this secluded place is always dark and clear, and thus when the sun sets it becomes a perfect mirror for the heaven's above. While not as good for the direct study of stars, many priests and shamans claim to have nearly lost themselves in the glittering dark, their souls detached from their bodies. There have also been assuredly been those who literally lost themselves to the surprisingly water through accident or darker means. Aside from disturbing the water, there is also a fairly strong current of mysterious source just beneath the surface that is believed to be part of what keeps the water so clean.
Horse Valley has clearer nights and better sight lines, while Black Mirror is a neat mirror of a slice of sky with otherwise not noteworthy conditions.

This is also hilarious.

I love the general narrative of "oh shit, everything's fucked, the Gods just wiped these fools off the map, what do we do?!"

Edit:
The nomads there had recently been united by a great chieftain, and he had been somewhat unsure about the offers of trade from the People, but when the God Fist had struck and then it had come out that the People had a hand in where it fell the response by the nomads had been a definite "You know what, let's take the offer of trade and go elsewhere."

Even the Nomads were like "Fuck this shit, imma go somewhere else"
