I don't see why People are planting poppies. Grand Docks are almost strictly better. If it works as expected we get the same +1 stab and an amazing megaproject, and if it doesn't we get valuable intelligence on how Symphony, our most mysterious trait, works.
1) We aren't sure how Megaproject support will interact with running two megaprojects at once. It's possible that by attempting to do both, we'll lose out on getting this turn's completion bonus.
2) Poppies have been desired for a while, and people see a chance to get them.
3) Having more trade good dominances is nice
4) It might be useful for the war next turn.

That said:
I'm not sure which project I support, so I'm not voting this turn.

Wait...if we start both the Grand Docks and International Games...will our provinces split their actions between both? If so, we might not finish the International Games by the mid turn (losing us the special bonus).

Unless the provinces actually have 3 main actions?

And this was true to an extent in most societies. As high culture and the arts of war were the epitome of goodness and virtue, and so the upper classes evolved into focusing purely on those aspects, and not really caring much for anything else (I am over generalising here).
wouldnt this mean thay the nobles would dedicate themselves to pursuir of at least one of our values? The only one i can see being entirely undesirable is honourable death.

Four Secondaries for the Provinces, at least two mains, three with the Law.

Actually, if my calculations are correct, then if we choose megaproject now, then we wont be able to use both offence policy and Terrify next turn.
Next turn we have two diplo, we need three.
Two actions out of four are locked with main war mission and terrify.
If we use secondary to swap policies, then we must spend guild action to build Docks, but we didn't generate diplo.
If we don't, then we don't have offensive policy.

While I don't think it's a big problem, a lot of people might.
On the other hand, fighting and winning a war while on megaproject policy can be legacy-worthy in itself.

So money above all else?
Dead to the commies then :p

Wealth accumulation yes, but more wealth by commerce or finance specifically.

If we had private landholding we may be able to also develop wealth by rent or produce. Which opens up the way for more diverse forms of aristocracy, be it the nobility of the robe, sword or petty nobility.
This would of course turbo boost our cultural development.

We still have the mid-turn to get some Diplo.

My guess is that we would evolve a nobility of the coin.
As the other forms are rather unlikely in the current Ymaryn society.
Only wildcat prospecting is a mercantile value.

According to our values ymaryn prize:
Well tended land
Justice
Acceptance
Exploration

Co-operation
Self Sacrifice in battle
Knowledge

Being skilled as warrior alongside your job
Being skilled at what you do
Looking after your subordinates and/superiors

Really if LoA leads to novles championing ymaryn values i think i can live with that.

And stagnate our social development. Please keep useless rich idiots as far away from the Ymaryn as we can get them.

Oh yes they are totally idiots and useless, they wouldn't become rich or stay rich otherwise!

I mean really this whole idea of the wealthy as dimwitted imbeciles who are secretly plotting evil is silly to a rather cartoonish degree.
