[X][Main] Sacred Forest Renewal
[X][Main] Build Docks
[X][Secondary] More Boats

This also gets us more diplomacy so we can integrate the Stallions much sooner and getting the extra stats from the integration will be quite helpful. However this also means we have to build many more temples so our shamans and priests can enforce the cultural homogeneity. However we can't keep periphery states without them pushing for integration or pushing for more automous control so think of each one as if they are on a timer until we integrate them.

[X][Divine] Speak against it (-1 Religious Authority, potential trouble for heir)

I already despise it in real life when shitty politicians use religion as a way to get votes so they ramrod their even shittier policies.

[X] Red Banner Company - Northern Nomads
This is a no brainer that's for sure and it send a nice subtle message to the Stallions.

No need to waste an action when AN said our provinces will act as if they are on balances policy when stability and centralization are both high.

You can't do two mains and a secondary unless the two mains are the same action.

[X][Main] Build Mills
[X][Secondary] Expand Economy
[X][Secondary] Change Policy - Megaproject Support
[X][Divine] Speak against it (-1 Religious Authority, potential trouble for heir)
[X] Red Banner Company - Northern Nomads

Keeping to this. Why do two megaproject progress when we can do three?

@Academia Nut would sending the Red Banner to the fight count towards supporting them for LL purposes? Just to be 100% clear.

Sure, but not as much as a secondary.

@Academia Nut : If we speak out for it can we guide the idea in some ways? Such as the God of Kings is always the advisor never King and that the Crow is never in the running.

Or should we expect those ideas to come up without our help if we stay quiet?

Given that you can't really set lasting fine detail precedent, no.

Negative Diplomacy isn't actually such a big deal right now, since there's no-one around who might attack us except a) the nomads, who are gonna attack anyway, and b) our subordinates, who I don't think will turn on us, but would need @Academia Nut clarification on whether negative Diplomacy affects relationship with subordinates.

Negative Diplomacy would increase any already present risk of subordinates breaking away.

Will doing that actually do anything to help with the perception that the North doesn't need the south and/or that the south doesn't help?

Just sending the Red Banner to the north would help, but they're mobile enough that the North considers the Red Banner a part of the North as much as the South, so its not as effective as the king sending assistance. Like, they get the fact that the king is super busy and this is mostly just maintenance work so it's why there's nothing compelling assistance.

@Academia Nut With the advent of waterpower, will we get the chance of building something like a ropeway?

Eventually.

@Academia Nut
Can you provide any hint on social-political-theological ramifications of the different options?

Any hint would do, or the guessing would go for a few hundred pages.

They should be pretty clear. The idea is that not just that the king can have a divine patron but must have a divine patron to represent the current King of Gods. Deny shuts that down, staying quiet lets Ylrulthyn go forward, supporting accelerates its adoption and codification.

That would be...problematic when the King doesn't fit neatly into a box somewhere.

So, I'm thinking I don't like this divine patron idea. And although it would be unfortunate to cause a family rift, I can live with that.

On a different note, IIUC we can't use a Secondary action to progress a megaproject. So on megaproject support policy, what will the provinces do with secondary actions?

@Academia Nut would you be willing to elaborate on the differences between north and south right now? Is there any clear fracture lines like the pre-nomad invasion times, or is there still a pretty strong sense of unity?

Worth noting that every turn that we keep the Stallions as a periphery state is one where they get to take two actions on their own. Given that we've got a provincial consolidation coming up we might not even end up with an action for our provinces either.

I'd say that there must be a somewhat stronger sense of unity considering that they finally managed to get a Stallion Tribe Chief King of Ymar. Also they fought a Nomad Horde together not even a century ago and the current Queen is half Stallion through her Father.

Yet them having less political power has allowed us to push forward heretical or disliked ideas again and again, going against the faith and forcing them to come along for the ride, or don't you remember Iron and Rodeos?

Also that resistance is going to be a fuck ton harder if the people resisting have political power. It's like fighting an unarmed man (no political power) instead of a man with a sword (political power).

And if Priets have to take worldly matters into account more they're more likely to poke their nose into those matters....
That's kinda the definition of having political power.

The level of influence priests have on society is enough to cause a stink. Because the nature of religion means that they don't need to have political power just the ear of people who do have it. The priesthood getting into politics means they have more tools to stop you from crossing their redlines. It also means it isn't forced to go for the nuclear options when those redlines are crossed.

I'm not even in favor of giving the priests more political power, but the arguments that the priests are useless because they are doing their jobs is kinda perplexing. As is the thought that they should let us do heretical stuff when we feel like it.

It very much feels like trying to have your cake and eat it too.

People are really annoying about the Stallion Tribe breaking away and such, and further divergence, and call for integrating the tribe.......

Guys...all we need to do is support them in their time of need, and give them projects. We basically never done anything for the ST.

It's probably not at a breaking point, and I'm pretty sure the North realizes how desperate the southern situation is, but getting some more insight into what the north thinks of the south and vice versa would be nice.

They don't need our help for this at all, though, and AN says they understand if no assistance is sent. The Red Banner Company being sent is already sort of going above and beyond. And it'd take away immensely from our ongoing megaproject. Any turn where we only do one Megaproject action I count as a failure.

Wait hold up, the tax monster is rising from the deeps, correct?

Perhaps integrating the Stallions would be wise when that happens to avoid the fuckery they foisted on us last time.
