That was before we made the grand temple and library. Things are becoming formalized now.
They've been being formalised for over a century since the creation of the Library, yet no King of the Gods has emerged! A century without a king of the gods with central religious authority, it shouldn't be hard with the player base controlling them to keep that going!
Why risk politics getting into religion, something we just actively voted to avoid and risk the absorption of our pantheon as well as further political fractionalisation via making certain families always have the support of certain groups, when we can just continue as we have done?

@Academia Nut : If we speak out for it can we guide the idea in some ways? Such as the God of Kings is always the advisor never King and that the Crow is never in the running.

Or should we expect those ideas to come up without our help if we stay quiet?

Oh so the fact we've gone centuries without one is going to be brushed over here?
No. But it taking centuries more is a unsupported thought.

Think about it like this.

It's been going on for centuries. It is now a problem. That sounds like a progress bar filling up to me. I very much think that if we tried to let it continue by stamping on things that eventually a decision will be made without our input because the progress has to go somewhere.

We pick the cycling thing well it means the gods can become king on their merits, much like the Ymaryn. That appeals to me, and it's a shoe in for standardized platforms which are very helpful and nice to have.

Don't feel like arguing about this vote right now though. (I am honestly tired enough that I can't argue this properly so I'll just bow out till I am more cognizant).

For now I'll go with this.

[X][Main] Megaproject-Sacred Forest Renewal
[X][Secondary] Change Policy-Balanced
[X][Secondary] War Mission-Northern Nomads
[X] [Divine] Speak up for the idea (+1 Religious Authority, other effects)

Hmm. Lower authorities, appointed by the central government, who can rule on matters that would normally reach the governors...
Are we seeing the beginning of a judiciary?

[X][Main]Sacred Forest Renewal
[X][Secondary]Change Policy-Balanced
[X][Secondary]War Mission-Northern Nomads
[X] Red Banner Company - Northern Nomads

Reminder that the Red Banner Company has spent at minimum one generation campaigning away from the Ymaryn, long enough for them to start diverging from the Ymaryn culture. That war mission is a reminder of sorts to all the people under our (heh) banner.

No opinion on the Divine vote.

This is unnessary. Just vote to send the Red Banner Company north to fight the nomads, such as in my vote. It helps the fight in the north and it means we don't have to spend a Secondary on it.

Why the war mission? We just got word of AN that we can just send our mercenaries.
Copy pasta galore.

Why not? Be safe with the Econ. Would not mind the personal war mission though.

That update seems like AN going, 'You should maybe re-integrate the Stallions', but we don't have the Diplo for it even if the returned econ/Martial wouldn't max out or send our Martial over the limit.

[X][Main]Sacred Forest Renewal

Hopefully we'll Survey up something we can then use Wildcat Prospecting on, to bring our Cent down a peg. I wonder, if we find the Saltern in Redshore, would we have the option of using Wildcat Prospecting on it?

[X] [Divine] Speak up for the idea (+1 Religious Authority, other effects)

This seems like it would open the door to lobbyists, but I do find the idea that the King of the Gods is a position shared by the Gods and changes based on the needs of the People in each generation to be a compelling one. And having our artisans lining up to throw support at the King isn't an entirely bad thing, either.

I notice that we have the option for a trade mission to the northern nomads. Do you think this is just there for the lulz, or is there a real chance of some diplomacy here? "Hey, we don't like you picking a fight with our hired mercs, and we're gathering our forces to kick your teeth in, but how would you like to call it all off and buy some salt instead?"

Tentatively doing this. I really would like to expand. Even though it isn't as fast at making econ as Balanced or Megaproject Support, it creates new econ slots quite cheaply. That will both compensate for the LTE climate damage and open up room for vineyards and forests (which we need more of).

We shouldn't let problems fester. Crush the nomads and we can go back to doing Ymaryn things.

Well with the fact we can send our mercenaries in our stead, what do you think of a double main Mills?
6 wealth isn't a big deal at -1 per turn, but 3 at -1 per turn is kinda critical.

Also, we'd need two points of Art next turn instead of one.

So, I'm not that fond of the idea.

Especially since I like having the mercs around to keep our southern borders defended.

You can only double main and still do a secondary if both are the same action.

Well, I'll wait a bit to see where the chips are landing. My one point of choice is that I really do not want to take balance policy, Study Stars now takes wealth which can be better spent towards close to anything else, and I think we may have seen our provinces not take study stars once while on balanced? No more than that.

It is also much less efficient for getting our project finished fast. It should really be expansion or megaproject support policy. That's our concern now.

I said I'd support this, and it's still pretty clearly a good choice. Getting another action every turn is HUGE.

Negative Diplomacy isn't actually such a big deal right now, since there's no-one around who might attack us except a) the nomads, who are gonna attack anyway, and b) our subordinates, who I don't think will turn on us, but would need @Academia Nut clarification on whether negative Diplomacy affects relationship with subordinates.

It is now a problem.
Didn't become a problem until someone tried to use it for political gain, and you want to reward it and encourage it!
We pick the cycling thing well it means the gods can become king on their merits
Not really...
The gods will be picked due to who has more influence and who is better at picking gods to drum up influence. It's not about merit, it's about gaining political support, it will lead to further factionalism in our government as certain guilds and clans always side with certain families and the priests become even more important as they can now control who gains the most important patrons.

It's an unneeded risk for little gain.

... What? Why would AN let us take an action that sent us into -3 Diplo?

That's like saying 'We have negative 3 Art.'

@Academia Nut would sending the Red Banner to the fight count towards supporting them for LL purposes? Just to be 100% clear.
I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter, since the nomads are targeting the Heaven's Hawk, who don't qualify as our subordinate.

The Stallions are joining the fight just because it makes sense to protect our ally, and they're always OK with kicking nomad butt.

I think the real problem with the Stallion Tribe is that we can no longer leave them as a March anymore. We have to integrate them. Luckily we have a bit of time.

@Candesce How about this? That gives us another trade advantage, and expands the Economy enough to allow our provinces to take three Megaproject Progress Actions.
