If we end up going to Asunaro alone, I think we'll paranoically spend quite s few minutes making protective Speckled Enchantments.

There'll be no Mami to catch us when we fuck up. :p

Oh, some people will likely push for mental protections anyway, but better if we don't go alone, and spend that time practicing.
"Sabrina, where are you going?"

"To Asunaro."

"Sabrina... Why are you wearing three pairs of pants?"

"I am going to Asunaro."

"'Sup."

"...Sabrina, why is Kirika wearing three pairs of pants?"

"Because she's going to Asunaro too."

"...I'm going to go put on some pants."

"Really? Why?"

*now pantsed* "Because I am going to Asunaro."

*all together in monotone* "We are going to Asunaro, we must have pants"

*hyperventilation intensifies*

"~I am the milkman, my milk is delicious~. You all sound that crazy right now."

"Dare I ask where all my pants went?"

"To Asunaro."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The pants zombies will rise up, rise up in Asunaro!

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go find some pants - I'm going to Asunaro.

E= Kirika exploded all over the post. Color doesn't even look like a word anymore - I think I'm British now... Ahloo-minium.

Yup.

Oh god Kirika exploded.

I don't think I was supposed to nest that many colors. O_O
You should've seen the Meguca Files when I was writing that little piece of omake. >_>

Something fucky with Xenforo caused Color tags to breed at the time. Probably some bad interactions between many different tags, but everytime I pushed the Edit button, one or two bajillion new Color tags spawned at the end, and all the text color got screwed.

This happened multiple times. >_>

There you go. :p

Other than shape and lacking a body, how different is a clear seed from a soul gem?

Actually one more difference is that it has capacity for a much larger volume of grief, but both contain a dormant witch in them.

Maybe clear seeds would function fine as soul gems, if they had a meguca body spiritually connected with them. Possible drawback, they are still non-rational.

Edit: We could ask Homura if she has any Octavia grief seeds we could use to make a clear seed and ask Sayaka if she would make a clone body we could try to take out of her soul gem range to attempt to connect it with the clear seed. It's probably been suggested before, but since Sayaka has recently gained clone powers it is now possible to make an attempt.
As far as differences go, the clear seed we've experimented on was completely empty and all but inert at the time. Aurora meanwhile, who we gave to the Mikunis (Or perhaps the Kures?) has since gone from "quiescent" to "active" at a level more similar to the proto-witch inside a soul gem. So there may actually be less grief in a clear seed than in a fully cleansed soul gem.

An additional difference between grief seeds and soul gems is that gems are jam packed with hope/magic. Given that Kyubey talks about the "phase change between hope and despair" it may well be that all that magic suddenly becomes grief with the soul gem reaches critical grief mass and converts to a seed. Which in combination with the above would mean that not only do we have to fill it up again with a certain level of grief, but we also need to enchant the seed to carry as much mass of hope as we typically remove in grief to create a clear seed.

Which, if hope and grief and created and used in equal pairs in order to use magic, may well mean that we restoring a clear seed may produce two clear seeds worth of grief: One on emptying it, and the second as a byproduct of refilling it with magic.

On the plus side, if that's the case, Kyubey will be very happy with us as that means that method of dewitching basically doubles the output of a given clear seed and makes it reusable. So he gets the original energy, and the restoration energy, and the girl comes back to live, hope, and (perhaps, in time) despair all over again: A win-win-win situation.

Mami still has homework, iirc. We could do some low-key practice while she does her thing, and occasionally give each other advice.

Not much time for it tommorow, though - we'll probably have Asunaro, Kyouko will likely want to get her first training session in with Sayaka, we're long overdue on witch hunting (we're almost out of grief seeds to even run new experiments on)...
While Mami does her homework, during flight time to Asunaro, while Kyouko is beating up Sayaka, pretty much anytime we don't have anything better to do. We can enchant and cuddle at the same time.

Regarding witch hunting, I still say we should sublet our territory to Kyouko to hunt in. She wants to hunt and has plenty of free time, but her territory is barren. We're busy as fuck, and our territory is witch central. We can open it up to Team Masami as well, as long as we can keep them and Kyouko from butting heads.

We can make grief bodies like Chibi-Brina, but can we make bodies that other magical girls can control so they can live their lives without risking incorporating grief-matter into their bodies?
We can't, but one of the Asunaro girls can.

We really ought to speak to coobie about this.
Kyubey has no reason to help us with this. Turning witches back into humans is the literal antithesis of the reason for his existence.

I really just want to do the one thing we've been procrastinating on. Get good enough at enchant to the point we can infuse a clear seed with magic safely. We just have to put in the hard time.
I really want to do the thing that we've procrastinated on multiple times today despite repeated hints that it's possible: make a Grief-cleansing enchantment. Until we have an option for cleansing that doesn't involve Grief Seeds, we won't be able to move forward on dewitching without creating a Seed famine in the process.

Serious proposal:

Before we depart the Mikunis', let's call them the Mikunis where they can hear it and then call out the fact that their costumes are a wedding.

We're trying to get Oriko to put more value on and derive more value from Kirika. How can it hurt?

Trying to make a Grief Control of any sort (including Cleansing) is what we've been procrastinating on.

Considering I now want Sabrina to make O&K's wedding rings for their future wedding, I can't say no to that. :V

Serious proposal: Before leaving today, tell Oriko to plan how to tell every relevant adult about their daughters being mages/liches or potential/friends to mages/liches.

Because we totally need to get around doing that.

So let's not and let Oriko plan it.

Then we go over her plans, see that they don't include her own death (if they do, we modify the plan a bit), slap our name in it and say we did everything.

And adults get the information they should have to deal with their magical daughters. Hopefully before we get that influx of meguca looking for Infinite Seeds.

Kyubey has no reason to help us with this. Turning witches back into humans is the literal antithesis of the reason for his existence.
Inaccurate: Making witches is Kyubey's tool, his purpose is overcoming entropy. If turning a witch back into a human can be done with a sufficient degree of efficiency he may not be totally against it. If energy is gained in the process I would expect him to outright help. (Though his idea of "helping" could easily be more trouble than it's worth.)

Also, brought up randomly in Discord:

When we get around to telling Junko, Tomohisa, Kenji, Miho, Shin, Hitomiparents, and all relevant adults about their daughers being lich/mages, potential/friends to lich/mages...

Who do we include in that first meeting, and who do we not?

Because, there's lots of adults who would be involved.

There's the Potentials we felt at one of the schools. We should contact them.

There's Banana-chan.

There's Ono. We know her mom drinks a lot.

There's the Kures. Should we even explain everything their daughter's going through?

... Also, shouldn't we try and contact Yuma's grandparents? Tell them about Yuma's shit mom, about Kyouko taking care of Yuma. Maybe they can take Yuma and Kyouko in?

I get the impression that Ono does not have a very happy home life. Her mother finding out might lead to some unpleasantness for her.

That's going to be the case for many meguca. Part of the general SOP is likely going to be carefully pointed lectures about the importance of psychology for magical girls and a statement that we will be keeping tabs on girls and intervening if we see a need.

We've also got some cases where the family seems to be a non-entity. Mami, Kyouko, Homura, Yuma and Oriko are explicitly orphans, but there's been no mention of Masami or Hiroko's parents at all.

There's the Kures. Should we even explain everything their daughter's going through?

That's a conversation we probably do not want to try to handle oursleves, though our options for delegation are Kirika and Oriko, who uh, have their quirks. Or if we're feeling extra brain-damaged we can have Homura try to explain why Kirika isn't going to be home for the forseeable future.

Realistically, there's no way that conversation goes well if we tell them too much of the truth, and they're something of a ticking timebomb if we don't move some explanation in their general direction soon. Oriko is probably the safest choice to try to calm them down and keep them from calling in the cops. At least until we're ready to drop the whole story on them.

... Also, shouldn't we try and contact Yuma's grandparents? Tell them about Yuma's shit mom, about Kyouko taking care of Yuma. Maybe they can take Yuma and Kyouko in?

We definitely need to see if we can do something for Yuma, though we'll want to talk to Kyouko first and get her onboard with whatever we make plans for.

Whenever we Gucabomb their parents, I want the daughter in question to be present, no questions asked. In fact, I don't want to do it without their permission.

It's something we need to talk with each specific guca first, of course.

In the case of, say, Ono, who hates our guts, we'd have to talk with Masami and Hiroko -ask Mami if she knows Masami's parenting situation- and try to get them to open up first if they do have parents somewhere. Then have them talk with Ono about it.

Banana-chan is another complicated one, because we've only met her once and didn't make much progress other than announce ourselves as 'a person that exists' in her mind. We might have to be more straightforward with her next time we see her.

By the way, still thinking we need to talk with Homura again about the past timeline and this timeline before Sabrina arrived...

Homura's got a history of not being specific. Maybe she's paraphrased Madoka's Wish and we need a better explanation there. What if Madoka Wished she could fix everything with her own hands, or some other modifier like that?

Like, maybe we are Madoka/Ultimate Gretchen or something, and Homu's been misleading us the whole time. :p

Of course, my dilemma is about how to speak about such matters with Homu without her breaking down again...
