yes but have you considered, " Fuck the Xohyssiri"?
the king makes sure to note to someone that something saying "Don't be dicks to your neighbours or they will pay you back at the worst possible moment" is enshrined into the library being built in the Sacred Forest somewhere.
The Dead Priests were a major threat (note: not to us) back when they had the Western Confederacy and the Spirit Talkers attacking them. Now the Spirit Talkers don't exist and in their stead are the Thunder Speakers, who are allied with them. They can cause us a significant amount of damage if we piss them off enough.

the xohyssir city proper will likely be untouched, due to the multiple layers of anti-chariot walls.
But their empire will take a major blow, saving the Highlanders from a two front War they can't win that will let the Xohyssir gain more ground in the Lowlands, perhaps even unite them. I don't want the baby killers having the entire Lowlands united just after we finish a war with the Nomads and as we begin to face a war with the Hathatyn

I mean it's a matter of degrees? With the west vote the Xoh will still get fucked in some way, like getting a spiked baseball bat to the head, while the south east diversion is like a baseball bat while suffering from electric nipple clamps.

I mean one reason this might not become The Thunder Horse 2: The Horsening is that the Xoh are very strong right now and might just be able to face tank the Nomads. They'd hurt like a bitch to be sure and be much reduced but the Nomads wouldn't be whole enough to make a new civ.

It'd still give the Highlanders some much needed breathing room

Two points:
  1. This isn't low cent any more than 1 Stability is low stability. This is moderate cent which is best for mediocre admins
Are you sure about that? Didn't Academia Nut say Cent 1 was yellow, which ... well, it's okay for a while, but it's brushing up against bad things. Yellow martial had its ups and downs.

I think u mean husbando

Can't have any inconvenient dynasties forming right
Yes, husbando. But for different reasons: The civilizational entity, called Ymmy, is less patriarchal and thus more effeminate than the comparative entity for the Metal Workers, we'll call him Byrcht. Thus, we are acquiring a husbando civ who we're joining in conversional matrimony.

E:
Except that this is apparently an mpreg fic because I'll be damned if we're the ones who have a different-culture offshoot occur.

Inb4 this kind of story gets enshrined into our history/culture and we get the equivalent of Aeschylus and Phaedrus' argument over weather Achilles or Patroclus was a twink.
Aeschylus, in his lost tragedy The Myrmidons (5th century BC), assigned Achilles the role of erastes or protector, (since he had avenged his lover's death, even though the gods told him it would cost him his own life), and assigned Patroclus the roles of eromenos.
...
In Plato's Symposium, written c. 385 BC, the speaker Phaedrus holds up Achilles and Patroclus as an example of divinely approved lovers. Phaedrus argues that Aeschylus erred in claiming Achilles was the erastes because Achilles was more beautiful and youthful than Patroclus (characteristics of the eromenos) as well as more noble and skilled in battle (characteristics of the erastes).

I believe it's yellow for us, since we're a largely centralized government. Negative centralization exists as well, so falling into it won't cause everything to burst into flames was the argument, I believe. WoG noted that basically everyone else was using negative centralization like it's normal, though.

In short: Going into negative centralization might end up forcing us to change government, but there is stuff that can take its place without the entire country collapsing.

Twink is a physiognomic archetype that is unlikely to apply to warriors, who might be better termed "twunks." I believe you're looking for the term "bottom."

Well, the other people were using it "for periods of their existence" or something like that. Which doesn't sound very good to me. If we look at the TH and the WC they were far more ineffective and fragile during their decentralized stages than they could have been.

While you're probably right, it's pretty clear that twinkiness was a definitely some kind of a factor in the issue, considering Phaedrus' position

Leaving the Highlanders to fight a two front war against a massive Baby Killer empire and a Heroic Martial faction is riskier in the long term, take a risk now or watch the Xoh coke for our blood later?

"In Dover's strict dichotomy, the erastês (ἐραστής, plural erastai) is the older lover, seen as the active or dominant partner, with the suffix -tês (-τής) denoting agency. Erastês should be distinguished from Greek paiderastês, which meant "lover of boys" usually with a negative connotation. The erastês himself might only be in his early twenties, and thus the age difference between the two lovers might be negligible.
The word erômenos, or "beloved" (ἐρώμενος, plural eromenoi), is the masculine form of the present passive participle from erô, viewed by Dover as the passive or subordinate partner..."

I concur.

Play it safe, then invest a couple of mains in Art Patronage so we can start triggering their pottery obsession.

Umm. There is the East horde McLuvin. That will do something especially since the TS are distracted right now.

This is decidedly not an all or nothing thing, like you seem to be making it out to be.

TH is still very decentralized, and they're using that to allow them to administer a huge territory.

In a way, it's actually what makes them a big threat; they're the first stable group decentralized enough to hold the lowlands.

That isn't reliable enough to save the Highlanders, who need help pronto with a two front war coming up in the next turn probably.

East Horde got wrecked, those not driven off have come in as refugees, it's why we took a stability hit
