Wait a minute, friendly nomads got steamrolled? That was fast.

We have a heroic martial leader, losing that much martial is pretty unlikely, and more unlikely that it'd happen after a midturn decision.

They too have martial hero. So if both sides rolled critical, we would possibly end up gutting each other.

The Yeomen farmers... the class we developed immediately after getting the value not the charioteer elites we got millennia ago.

Yes. Those are the ones we lose. Thus, when we take econ damage from Quantity of its own, we're taking econ damage from losing those yeomen. But at econ 1, we won't have many yeomen to spare, giving us a very low bonus. Thus ironically the potential lost econ is minimized.

They have a Heroic Martial Leader too, and so do the Hath, which worries me

Also look at my previous post before this one, will that extra 2 Martial really help all that much?

Your post is pretty disingenuous. It's "additional effects," not "new issues." From WOG our king seems to think it'd create citizen soldiers, which likely means a Quality of Its Own evolution. As a martial improvement I consider that worth it.

Because as has been pointed out- it's an effective difference of two fucking martial. That's just not worth it.

Double Main Warriors was what the WOG was. This isn't that- don't even fucking pretend that's the same thing as this.

This is pretty much feudal levies. Don't assume this is some grand thing, we're giving local chiefs the authority to raise and arm their own warbands- that's not something to be proud of.

Our hero explicitly thinks Portable+size would help the most in fighting the nomads; note that the hard part about pushing them southeast is not the fight in the southeast, its the fight to push them there.
Read the actual question asked
@Academia Nut , what design, in opinion of our Heroic Martial king, will be most useful for such assaults from the river?
Of course portability and size would help with that. The problem is that it was a leading question assuming we would be able to do so.

@Academia Nut
Clarifications:
1) Will choosing to continue along portability remove our ability to branch out?
2) What is the apparent status of the plague? Will it end soon, cause further trouble?
3) Are all the Eastern Nomads dead?
4) How has Western Wall been impacted thus far? To what degree has the Stallion Tribe been impacted thus far?

Not gonna lie, I don't, an overflowing Martial with citizen soldiers whilst on low centralisation and with whatever issues that new developments brings doesn't seems worth it.

Especially as the king only thinks it'll happen, he doesn't know if it will. Not worth the cost

Leading? I quoted the part of the post which led me to this question: the martial hero leader thought that we can. And as I am in a perpetual state of low-key panic over the steppes from the moment we have acquired our March from the Creed all that time ago, I am of course going to think how to squeeze out a little bit of utility in that regard.
