I want Crow in here because he is our 'Asura" or our 'Titan'/'Primordial'. Enshrining the most important god makes sense to me, even if he is not the most powerful.
Going for alien but knowable because I think it fits really well with Love of Wisdom, encouraging our shamans to try and learn of him and the world around them which he created.

Not sure on either of the Drought options, but I do not want to do a Enfroce Justice because if it hits the +3 Centralization it will definitely push us into the Red and we are facing a stability issue right now. Don't want something funky to happen because of negative stab + red Centralization.

CA is baking standard. We will have econ coming in, in the next turn so I say reduce chance for stability damage. It also happens that this is about the only efficient option until you get to the higher end.

I'm gonna ask some questions though... Just to clarify some things... hmmm.

Alien and knowable should improve our science progression by a lot, since our shamans will try to decipher the riddle that is the world left to the people by crow.

Oh also to those who may be wondering.

[Boats] Not the boats, but where they are made

This is proto shipyards. Which means we can spam boats and due to quantity our overall tech level is going to skyrocket in the naval scene.

I'll go looking for more details in a minute.

Mathulmyn was thus variously conceived of as a king passing on experience, a wizened advisor giving good counsel, or a consort who could rein in the impulses of the king.
Hmm.

Many of the Ymaryn spirits have been of complicated gender or sexuality, historically. Is that the case for Mathulmyn, too?
Alien and knowable should improve our science progression by a lot
I like that pick, myself.

Fucking Drought smacked our econ right back down and tore away at our stability, undoing all the work our options last turn did!
Fucks sake, there's never an 'dull' moment is there?

Law Itself
Non-familial Patronage
Occupational Association
Tradition

Oh hey this is kinda neat we got Occupational Association inside the Authority tree of social concepts.

Like I said before, Mathul is a fantastic concept to embrace because if we do it right, we're implicitly embracing the fallibility of kings, and that kings need advise and council to function best. It legitimizes both the kinghood and the council and body of advisors a king needs.

Especially since the thread wants the library right after this. We're on the cusp of being able to ensure that Mathulmyn is remembered accurately, and by doing so- prevent his transformation into King of Gods.

Someone else pointed out Crow: alien but knowable synergizes with love of wisdom and turns him into an allegory for understanding the natural laws.

I mentioned why size is really important in terms of shipping already

We need stab more than a new march, only by getting stab positive can we really feel safe about a glut of martial, which is a long term problem a march only makes worse in the long term. The issue of militarism in our society, is obviously not fucking helped by spinning off sub-sects of that society even more militarized.

Not - necessarily - the King of Gods though, although some conceptualized the deity in that way. No, Mathulmyn was instead the Greater Spirit the People prayed to in order that the king rule wisely... or at least not be an idiot. Mathulmyn was thus variously conceived of as a king passing on experience, a wizened advisor giving good counsel, or a consort who could rein in the impulses of the king. Discussing among themselves, the shamans had realized that while the forms varied, Mathulmyn was perhaps the most worshiped and prayed to deity among all the People. Sometimes you didn't want Crow's attention, but everyone wanted the king not to do stupid things. It was just that the spirit didn't quite have the age of worship as the others so while always in the People's thoughts, the god was often the second thought when thinking of spirits.

this is the best god of rulers ever. not some mighty lord who must be appeased, but the god of "oh please don't let the king fuck up." kind of says something about the people(and our performance) don't it?

Crow is our best god. He acts like nature, he is alien and nearly incomprehensible yet can be understood. Sometimes only after the fact, but this encourages study even more.

Shipyards seem useful. Not certain on this one though.

We've got lots of econ and it's incredibly risky to grab for extra effects right now. We could've done it last time with our admin hero, this time we can't. Especially when we don't have Grand Sacrifice anymore.

[X] [Drought] Ensure proper behaviour (Main Enforce Justice)
[X] [Drought] Weed out troublemakers (Main Restore Order)

We definitely need stability, but both of these options have their downsides. RO is a lot weaker without GG applied to the stability minus and it's pretty risky, but EJ is getting close to the centralization cap.

I'll vote for both for now unless one or the other has good arguments for/against.

Y'know if we had more centralization originally we would've weathered this disaster better. Just saying.

The trade status makes the Hathatyn look really tasty. It's also interesting how we have almost no competitors for what we're great at.

[] [CA] Open the borders and granaries (-1 Stability, chance of further loss, +4-5 Econ)
[] [CA] Bring in as many as possible (-2 Stability, chance of further loss, +6-8 Econ, other effects)

I'm very wary of these two options because of Quality of Its Own. As much as I'd like to take in people, this pushes up our Martial when our Stability is already at risk.

Holding off on CA vote

On our stability situation:

Centralization's bumped to 4. A secondary Enforce Justice shouldn't be too dangerous.

Improve Festival ought to be a good pick soon, but the drought's putting off gaining wine...

Restore Order is more reasonable, since the new laws have been put into place and nothing seems to have gone horribly wrong.

I fear Mathulmyn would transform fast into divine right.

Such concepts are very malleable to change, and usually not to a good one.
