So are we sure magic isn't at play here? I mean, the fluff representation of us kicking a project is our people going into a frenzy to ensure it's completed. We got this ability in a trait called Divine Stewards. Are our people collectively a god?

Thats the power of Crow worship!

Lol what. We can literally spend a single turn setting up mines and doing a study metal or a survey and we'd be good to go?
The problem is even if we do learn the secret we are in no position to take advantage of it we do not even have our own mine yet we can always steal the secret at a later date

...and why can't we do an expedition a turn later?
I honestly do not see any reason to hurry.
Because if we do it now we can use whatever we find to upgrade our infanstructure or economy now and reap the possible benefits. Rather than spending the turn later on the unlikely chance that people will actually vote for it and not put it off over and over.

Guys, I just thought of something:

In the far future, in modern times, there are going to be ancient aliens conspiracistss due to the amount of mega-projects the People have.

"They couldn't possibly have built all of this!"

This speculation has already occurred let me see if I can find the post.

Edit: IT's even true in this case. We (SB SV) are assuming direct control every critical moments.

The priests who came to us are going to die soon.
The laws are going to be written, soonish.
Metalwork will be developed even further.

I do see either of the two limited time opportunities as a higher priority, to be honest.

Hmmm. I'm worried, guys. The Xohyssiri saw the shamans they sent as a gift. Would giving a gift back be taken as an insult?
E: or it could be considered another gift: the gift of knowledge of the mysterious ymaryn...

Not saying we learned How to: copper working last time or anything guys. But we learned copper working. No chance something like that will happen again amirite?

Depends on their values.

They offered their lives to us. By showing mercy we may be saying good things. Not sure honestly. There's something percolating in the back of me brain but I need to think about iy.

Hey guys, remember Twythulmyn? And that whole diplomatic snafu that happened because of mistranslations? Won't happen with the DP if we trade with them this turn.

@Academia Nut at the rate things are going, you may want to make a threadmark section just for omakes and negaverse posts
Thanks for cataloging these. I never have the patience to find them myself.
We should go to the metal workers and hopefully get a tech increase
There are some major benefits to going to the Highland Kingdom.
1. Since we're expanding our Carrion Eaters, getting opium will give us another boost to gain in medical knowledge.
2. They're in the middle of writing down their laws. If we're lucky we can influence that.

Actually, I'm wondering if the voters aren't spirits. Think about it, we guide their civilization, we have knowledge beyond what they could possibly know, and we're essentially immortal to them, having already lasted hundreds of years at this point. More, we're mercurial, prone to conflicts among ourselves, and from their point of view, bloody nuts.

And one final bit of evidence? When we, the thread, decided that one potential heir was simply unacceptable he got smote. He got really, really smited.

Yeah, all it took was a Heroic King, a crack team of BlackBirds, and all we got was...
"I think we need to cook them? And something happens?"

Whereby, we spent generations trying out all kinds of stuff, before we got any use of it.

Besides, it might be news that they found a new mine. Yay for them. Good luck stealing the mine.

EDIT:
BTW,

Your vote's not counted together with the rest, since you're using a small x.
