Also, given that Kuroki's phone has been crushed or damaged, I think time is running out to find her before she Witches out. Which means we need to search for her at her last known location (which was just shown to us) either now, in timestop, or right after we get back from Sendai.

We should probably try to reach her by telepathy, since we know her name and general location. Explain our power, our willingness to help without conditions or catches, and even offer her a place on our team if she wants it. Say that we can be at her location very quickly if she tells us where she is.

We'll do them seperately. And I suggest helping the University Group out first.

Um, shouldn't we have them meet up together? Meeting with us is probably the only way we'll get the two groups to talk at all, since we'll be there to chaperone, and getting them to talk is the only long term way to keep them from fighting again, especially if whats-her-name wakes up again.

It's too soon imo. Hold off for now.

Planning.

- Try and pass over the Industrial District before going to Sendai. Explain if necessary.
- Telepathy Chouko and tell her you're coming over. Ask her whether she wants us to meet her group first, or whether we should meet both Sendai groups at once.
- Make some Speckled Enchantments while travelling. Enhancers, defenses, ask the other girls for ideas. Specially Nadia. Keep them if they don't make you feel witchy.
-- Try and make an Speckled Enchantment that'd suppress the Witchy Feeling of active Grief.

[Q] As soon as you step out of the Mobile Oppression Fortress, challenge Chouko to a flying race.

ummmm I doubt witching out would cause the phone to forcely turn off like that. So while she is not likely a witch yet our window to act is narrow if not already closed.

If there us a chance, no matter how small, that the girl is still alive then we need to try to help her. But remember going after a girl to keep her from witching out risks witchbombing, on accident, Mami if she wonders or figures out what the time crunch is about.

Worst case is we find her as she witches out, the better version we find her on the verge and grief bend like the world is at stake. The latter still witchebombs Mami but at least we saved the girl which may soften the blow.

How about we tell Mami, Sayaka, and Nadia what we know about Kuroki, and

[X] Tell everyone about Kuroki. If it's OK, try to do a pass by the Old Insdistrial Distrcit and try to find her before going to Sendai.
[X] Call ahead; ask Chouko if she'd rather you meet her group alone, or if she'd be OK with all groups meeting at once. Telepathy Rin and let her know either way.
[X] Make Speckled Enchantments while flying. Try and make one that'd suppress/hide the Witchy feeling of active Grief, and one that'd cleanse Soul Gems.
-[X] Then try making other Speckled Enchantments for general use, like protections and enhancers. Ask the girls for ideas/advice, specially Nadia.

What to do once we get there, will depend on whether we're meeting both groups at once, or just Chouko's?

Is voting open yet?? Even if its not a vote should we get an idea for contigencies to help Kuroki in case we find her??

If we find a Witch Barrier, call Homura and ask her to deal with it, while we keep going?

If we do find Kuroki, I figure we'd break back to voting, after getting some details. Can't really decide much right now.

Worst case is we find her as a witch, of course. But Mami still may not put two and two together - remember the gas lighting conversations a while back? That's probably all that's keeping her from coming to that conclusion already.

And if she is witchbombed, we encase her in grief and gem her. It's definitely not a way we'd like to treat Mami, but if she risks Tetris than it's the most humane way of keeping everyone safe. Yanderebrina can do it.

All caught up!

Also, just realized that Sabrina reminds me of Eye from Totally winging it/Totally Losing It.

If we find Albertine, Mami would assume Kuroki died fighting the Witch. >_>

I am mored worried if we find her as she witches.
Wouldn't we get a quick vote break then?

As I see it, we'd have two options if Kuroki really looked to be on the verge of Witching: Try to save her, or avoid her so Mami won't see. I do not think we'd let Kuroki Witch if we could avoid it.

If we assume Kuroki will Witch out and Witch bomb our group if we find her, the only thing we can do to avoid that is just not looking for her.

I'm just thinking worst case here, I'm all for looking for Kuroki and will back said action. So I also want to figure out options for WHAT to vote for if the worst possible results occur - it only seems fair. Afterall if I help get something voted for I should also figure out how to deal with possible outcomes.

So yes we would break to a vote, I'm trying to work out what we cool do *for* said vote.

We tell Mami the same thing we told Homura: we show her a Grief Seed, then we show her a Clear Seed, and we remind her that Grief Seeds don't rip Grief from other Grief Seeds but they do rip Grief from Soul Gems.

Ok this is a literal case of 'I know what those mean on their own but nit when they are put together like that'

I really dont follow.

Basically the implication is that a Clear Seed is closer to a soul gem than the core of a witch. Which is, as far as we know, true, and strongly implies that the addition of another step in the process could de-witch a girl.

Basically, all hope is not lost, just because a girl witches. It's going to be a hellish experience, but there's a chance we may be able to pull them back.

Admittedly, my own understanding was originally that a witch was a parasite that simply impressed the girls soul during or before hatching; that's why Oktavia wouldn't react to Madoka or Kyouko, because it wasn't actually Sayaka but something that used her soul as a blueprint. Sort of like a virus, if they picked genes off the cells they used to multiply. THAT would prevent dewitching, but thankfully that hypothesis no longer makes sense in PMAS and Rebellion made it pretty unlikely in canon as well, since Homura seemed to have her faculties about her when she witched (though IIRC she never fully witched, so it doesn't entirely bin the idea, just make it extremely unlikely).

As far as I can tell, they are parasites, they just devour the soul of the host post-apotheosis. Oktavia didn't react when Madoka and Kyouko called out to it, but Sayaka did.
Remember the melty red eyeball thing that happened there? That was the last vestige of Sayaka's immortal soul as it was consumed completely by a living incarnation of despair.
This is also, I believe, why Stand powers can work in the Madokamiverse; the two entities are separated at birth/reconciled with one another by God and cooperate to form a greater whole (given that the Witch is spawned from the psyche of the Magus; if i recall correctly, in TDS Mami is able to hold a brief mental conversation with Candeloro at one point when she nearly despairs). The melty eyeball thing also happened nearly 24 hours after Sayaka's initial Soul Gem failure, meaning there may still be a way to save them shortly after witching out.

There's a very, very obvious practical issue with that mentality. Like seriously, can't we just call Kyubey to offload grief the next time we step out and go to the bathroom?
I entirely agree, but I'm not the one you have to convince.

We should probably try to reach her by telepathy, since we know her name and general location.
I don't think that's how that works. You have to have actually met someone to telepathy them.

ummmm I doubt witching out would cause the phone to forcely turn off like that.
It's more that the phone probably wouldn't stay intact for long. And there's probably no recepetion in a pocket dimension.

But remember going after a girl to keep her from witching out risks witchbombing, on accident, Mami if she wonders or figures out what the time crunch is about.
Mami knows that a girl will die if her gem goes completely dark, even if she doesn't know that they turn into a monster afterwards, so she understands the urgency.

As far as everyone else is concerned, we're looking for Kuroki or "the witch that killed her."

If we find a Witch Barrier, call Homura and ask her to deal with it, while we keep going?
Homura won't want to leave Madoka, and quite frankly, we don't want her to, either. We talked to Masami and Hiroko about working for us for this exact purpose. Might as well use them.

This is absolutely not the case. The Witches are still the girls. Rebellion demonstrated it literally with Homura and also had Sayaka directly say so. As in, the person with memories of actually having been a witch.

The Witch Stand powers (which Magia Record gives a name for; "Doppels") are a result of the soul achieving enlightenment over Hope and Despair. They can confront their pain without succumbing to it, cope with it, and come to terms with it until they can weaponize their own past wounds as a form of empowerment.

Essentially, how real-life trauma survivors handle things, with magical metaphor.

I'm technically winning! Yay!

Remember speckled enchantments is specifically 'doing it wrong'. It's just a stop gap measure until we buckle down and do it right.
