That's exactly the point. The March can sends troops to defend Our Northern provinces, then the northern provinces send their troop to join the southern provinces if there is a war.

EDIT: most trade options have risk of war, so getting the martial hero is safe in that regard.

I rather have a free action than a secondary war mission.

I really don't get this.

When I think we're perfectly capable of going into a war and coming out ahead everyone goes all 'no, we hate war,' but when we are in the middle of an incredibly delicate crises, everyone's all like 'yeah, we can totally risk war. That single point of diplo is worth it.'

I think we should elect him king. losing the tax reform for a generation or two won't end our civilization, and honestly people in this era probably don't have the patience or education for something as complicated as we were trying. His attitudes of traditionalism, honor, and support of simplicity are all we can handle until we actually have a set of laws that people are used to following. Additionally he has widespread support and having him in charge would prevent the nomad march from breaking away and him appointing a local successor would stop them from breaking up. Finish the laws on his terms to produce a semi-functional state then optimize later.

also we need econ

[X] Elect Cwriid heir (+1 Stability, Crisis Ends on his terms)
[X] Stop trading with the Highlanders (-3 Diplomacy, small chance of the Highlanders declaring war)
[X] We will find land for you to settle (-1 Stability, +2 Econ)

[X] Snub him (Small chance of -1 Stability)
[X] Stop trading with the Highlanders (-3 Diplomacy, small chance of the Highlanders declaring war)

That's not how that works. He already protects the northern provinces by existing, so they already would send troops south.

@Academia Nut : some guidance please, what does a March do when the parent nation is under attack?

Just a small extra, is my general guess on how C-Hereditary works accurate? In that it's basically "yes, you can own stuff, but inheritance is limited to what your ancestor was assigned"?
I would like to know this as well. I wasn't really clear how it worked in the first vote, so I avoided it for the more easily understood private ownership with communal inheritance

[X] Stop trading with the Highlanders (-3 Diplomacy, small chance of the Highlanders declaring war)
WHY?

I'm sorry to single you out, but there are tons of people voting for that with no explanation in their posts. We've got plenty of spare diplomacy whereas our action slots mid-crisis are highly limited. This vote gains something we already have an abundance of in exchange for a chance of losing something we are critically low on.

I see two plans worth supporting:
My current vote:
[] Snub him (Small chance of -1 Stability)
[] Stop trading with both (-4 Diplomacy)
Basically, continue as planned, beat the crisis with the complex system

The war vote:
[] Elect Cwriid heir (+1 Stability, Crisis Ends on his terms)
[] Keep trading with both (Large chance of one of the two declaring war, tiny chance of both declaring war)
This is "We have a Heroic Martial leader. Fight me." It ends the crisis immediately, and we'll even be able to WAAAGH whoever attacks us if we want to.

However, when the messenger opened up the bundle to reveal not the speaking stick of a council member, but of a full provincial chief. In recognition of his work, he was being made the chief of a new province, to cover the territory that would need to be occupied by all of the tribes he had subdued.
This is from the last update, but a small question. Ignoring game mechanics, as far as the People are concerned, is our March officially anything other than another province?
No, the issue is actually his supporters throughout the People as much as his own personal reaction.
How widespread are the Young Stallions in general? The update says a lot of them funneled into his province/march, but how big are they in the normal provinces?

The assignment of land management and the like passes down through family lines, although unassigned land is assigned by the local chiefs if a need arises.

If the Thunder Horses go to war, they can join in, but they're too far away to really help with the Highlanders, although they will keep the nomads off your back and can contribute warriors, increasing Martial score.

It's seen of as another province, but a very distant and different one.

The majority are in the new province, but they are widely spread across the entirety of the People, with the largest concentrations being in the northern provinces.

What happened here?

[X] Suppress the Young Stallion movement (-1 Stability, +1 Turns to resolve crisis, small chance of civil war)

Alows the megaproject to run its normal course and have one last chance to fix things if it didn't work

[X] Stop trading with both (-4 Diplomacy)

We can spare the Diplomacy, not the time spent in war.

[X] We have our own problems (Large chance of -1 Stability)

Let's not lose anymore Stability than we have to shall we?
