Take the chance of success, divide by 10, and round to get the crit success chance. Do the same for the crit fail chance. XP can't reduce failure chance below the crit fail chance. Learning actions get a 5% additional crit fail chance (4% because of a Doof trait) if they're out of specialty of either the councilor or the assigned unit, though in our case Ludivine has Omnidisciplinary.

Probably won't convince anyone already decided, but I'm still very iffy on the franchise wars.
The average CoS of related actions seems to hang around 70%, and the number of competitors mean any advantage gained could easily be cut down by one or multiple simultaneous sabotage actions.
The final outcome would be +6 yearly income if we win bigly, with the process of getting there likely to consume 12 income (one income per action + one income for more than 1 action per turn can add up quickly), making it 2 years until it pays off. And that's if we win, and don't see ourself out of money due to having to rebuild after a major catastrophe such as the one we know is coming.
The opportunity costs include various goodies such as ACME corporate records, buying up companies that would actually give us heroes, direct industry standing and technologies, advancing our media and entertainment position and so on. Many of which are also just more interesting than fastfood.
(And as a minor last point, Kermitt's discomfort with Doc Hoppers also makes me uncomfortable with turning it into the nations foremost fastfood chain. Not too big a deal, but it's something.)

--[x] [Occult] Track magical creatures (Tobe)
--[x] [Occult] Map Ley Lines (Doof and Malf)
I think because Janna and Kitsune will be available next turn, this turn we should have Tobe hunt for magical creatures and have Doof and Malf work together on the Ley lines action, and next turn we could do Golumetric with Janus's negotiation and another useful occult action, along with chatting with Malf next turn.
I think the golem action seems most likely to have a follow up that could seriously help us against the attackers. The action itself could already be decent against Megavolts, due to spooky normbots, but I think it's the follow up of getting more elaborate or specialized golems to support us that is most useful.

2nd Place still gets +5 which is huge. And we own Doc Hoppers now so it's not like the profit would go to Hopper himself.

As for the golem action, I think it would be better to wait until next turn. If we get confirmation it's Megavolt, I'm sure some councilmembers would swap their vote for security's sake, and if it's not Megavolt, delaying give us an additional turn to fulfill the negotiation requirements. Plus, with Janna or Kitsune on the golumetric action next turn because they'll be back from their quest, it will be much likely to actually succeed.

[ ] Interact with the Toons
You've never had the pleasure of interacting with these… cartoons, before, but you've been led to understand most have an appreciation for the classics.

So why do you have this horrible sense of foreboding?

Outcome: Mr. Moseby is exposed to Toons for the first time.

[ ] Wage war against the lobby ninja
There is a shadow looming over your lobby. You had assumed the 'lobby ninja' were metaphorical.

They were not.

Already you can tell the campaign will be long and hard, but you will have order!

Outcome: Comedy Gold
Some debate has occurred on the discord as to which personal action Moseby should take. I'm a bit neutral on this. I think Toons is arguably more important, but lobby ninja could be funnier. Especially with Tobe's current national action being to hunt magical creatures. Moseby catching them smuggling or god forbid, setting up an stable in his lobby could be excellent first shot for the lobby war.

Thoughts?

I don't think Tom can go on the quest because it isn't related to Star or Toffee.

With the above the wings should go to someone else.
Ah, then there is no way to stop his Marcnificent bonus from declining? Sad. I've since corrected this flaw, reassigning the QMS to be Quest Leader, Kitsune to infiltration, and Cruella to diplomacy with the Zaibatsu.

Probably won't convince anyone already decided, but I'm still very iffy on the franchise wars.
I've made a plan that opts out of it, if you'd like. We have a lot of other stuff we could be doing with those Corporate Actions.

I'll be honest, both seem like Comedy options. Just do whichever is funnier.

Wasn't the idea of having Doof and Malf work together be for the narrative of giving the a way to talk (preferably over a success together) to ease things?
I mean, I thought that was the whole point of not stabilizing or hiring an Occult hero was so we could get a handle on Malf first

That won't work without a talk to the boss man. Also, They're about a coin flip of success. If you want that effect you need to vote for my Plan which has a better chance of success on a mutual action and a talk with the bossman. It's extremely unlikely we get a free talk with the bossman.

Preparing for Megavolt was merely an add-on for the action itself. The main goal would still be the expected follow up, which I expect to be generally useful.

[x] Plan: Let's Get Dangerous, Hold the Franchises

The two big things I care about are activating an Inator and Chatting with Malf, so I'll go with the plan that does both.

So... for the franchise wars.

We're at level 1 right? If we do nothing we stay at level 1, correct?

Let's just do nothing. Keep our current investment, have no change, and work on other things.

Unless I'm misunderstanding the situation.

We're at level 3 right now. If we lose the franchise wars, we drop to 1. If we get either first place or 2nd place, it increases to level 6 or level 5.

I'm fairly sure we were told that Personal Attention and Doof being personally present (as in, if his bonus is higher than the assigned hero's bonus) both will involve more interaction with hero units than they have previously.

Now, Map Ley Lines isn't quite that, but it is him and Doof working directly together, so I don't think it's crazy to think that it might have at least some positive effects.

[X] Plan: Let's Get Dangerous, Hold the Franchises

I'd rather avoid getting into a struggle with Xanatos for dominance of the restaurant industry. We can focus more on mad sciencey industries, like robotics.

...Hold on just one second. I just noticed an industry that's pretty major, but isn't represented on the industries list! Where's the maritime shipping industry?

Quick, we need to take advantage of this amazingly simple concept that nobody's ever made use of in the history of mankind! Our Buoyancy Operated Aquatic Transports will deliver goods to every corner of the globe!
