It is very possible that the outside forces will break into the warehouse if we aren't there to stop them. If so, the situation will be the same as holding the line, except A) the Huntsclan will have taken losses, and B) we'll be in a much more defensible position where we can freely use magic. These are both positives.

In addition, the whole point of this battle is to protect the artifact. I feel like putting the most competent people - e.g. us - closer to the artifact is a smart move, even if it means leaving the fodder behind.

I'm not going to pretend there are no flaws with this point of view, but on the whole, I think it's the reasoning that matches closest to reality.

I will point out if we hold the line we're probably going to throw away our chance to be able to interfere in the climax of this. We only have the possibility because we passed the intrigue check.

Even if the KKK get good publicity Xanatos will make sure they don't get the type that make every Normie want to murder the Sexy Magic users.

This is Xanatos show, could we help if we charged in after them? Probs, but I'm assuming the people we are currently fighting would charge in to. That would make things more chaotic and more likely to spiral out of control. Which would benefit the attackers I.e not us. Plus if Xanay needs us he can give us a call. Which I feel means and acknowledgement that he required help rather than us barging in and (possibly) ruining stuff. just a bit of soft power to influence xanay if I'm reading things right.

I'll be real, I just want to make sure civvies are safe. Maybe it's because there aren't any chrysalids (yet) but I just don't want to see any civvies get grenaded by anymore goddam mutons today! I mean! What the hell is that! I run out of cover, I bunch up, I do everything I can to bait the muton that rounds the corner to grenade me instead of civilian Jan Johansson but every savescum the stupid thing kills the civvie! Had to restart the whole stupid mission just to get a spawn where I could save all the civvies from the stupid rassafrassin muton gruxhead boeuangbooianef

yeah look. Save civvies. Is good. I expect Demona+Brooklyn is heavily disadvantaged against Xanatos+Puck, and Demona's spooky plan almost certainly checks off Puck's clause that "he can only use full power when protecting (child I forget name of)".

Keep the Horde trimmed, tangle with The Pack, save civvies, and the Glooms and Horvath can go further inside to try and help deeper in. Or maybe just leave them here using low-visibility magic assistance if we're worried Demona will follow us/someone in and isn't using an alternate route entirely

Exactly, Xanatos wants us to hold the line, so we'll hold the damn line. We can handle Demona if she gets away with whatever she's after because it's Demona, she WILL fuck it up for herself, it is a core part of her character, just like war crimes are part of the Pack's.
