[X] Plan Key And Ki
The HOrse is healing, you're thinking of the Dog.As if Xanatos would ever allow us to get the Horse Talisman, that one should be his priority number 1. The Rat could also be good if it's offered, but the rest? Ehhh...
You might want to actually post and make that offical, i'm unclear as to how this site counts votes.
Site counts any line of text that starts with [X] as a vote. Thats basically all you need to know as any further specifics are minutia. You might want to actually post and make that offical, i'm unclear as to how this site counts votes.
You'd think that, but in the show, someone trades away the Horse for the Dog, believing regen to be redundant with immortality...Then promptly gets the shit beaten out of him and almost all his bones broken, which doesn't kill him, because immortal...BUt leaves him in immense pain because he still heals at a normal rate. Without the Horse, the Dog wielder can survive anything...But not necessarily do so unscathed. As if Xanatos would ever allow us to get the Horse Talisman, that one should be his priority number 1. The Rat could also be good if it's offered, but the rest? Ehhh...
Edit: That's the Dog talisman apparently? Those 2 seem like they overlap a lot, frankly.
That's the beauty of the auction, it's not a desperate prayer. Unless we in specific need the item, rather than wanting items in the genera case, the winning strategy for the first two rounds is to bid the exact same amount that you expect the next highest bidder to bid. Sure, you only have a 50% chance of getting it, but if you do get it, you get it 1 cheaper than you would otherwise, and if you don't, it didn't cost you anything.[X] Plan Key And Ki
Here's a desperate prayer for that coin flip to come up Doof.
Thats "fair" but I do actually want the items. That's the beauty of the auction, it's not a desperate player. Encantus and Talismans are magical resources too tho. And I doubt Magica would save something useless for the 3rd round.Yeah, there's a very real risk that we are saving for nothing here, especially since with this round we have already have seen most of the items. Both the Cookbook and the Scrolls could be very good for us, while if we save here we might just bid on stuff we find mediocre on the 3 round just because we saved up. As one of the objectives of this trip was to get more magical resources, that wouldn't be ideal. We are just starting with this stuff, so the knowledge to make Occult better seems more worth it to me than powerful single items we can't do much with yet. Those to magical manuals are an investment for the future, in a very real sense. So I think we should try to get both at least, and if we fail we really haven't lost much. Bidding here seems pretty advantageous to me.
The point is to get the most resources that are the most useful to us. In general, that is going to come in more knowledge than in more powerful unique items, like the Talismans. Our superscience is pretty good, which means most direct concrete effects are replicable; comparatively, we are weak in countering magic and it's more esoteric applications like wards, curses and so on. Magical textbooks have better chances of providing what we need for that than powerful single items. That's why I think stuff like that should be the priority.Encantus and Talismans are magical resources too tho. And I doubt Magica would save something useless for the 3rd round.
How is the Encantus NOT absurd knowledge? The point is to get the most resources that are the most useful to us.
