I think the toon's traits make the die explode on the high end, but raise critical fails as a consequence
So a DC 80 action would get a reroll if the natural die was 80 or higher for goofy (100-20) but the action would critically fail at 60 (80/2 + 20) instead of 40.

Quick notes. The 1% success and 4% crit fail is true with Goofy. Also, (and I did not realize this) apparently Goofy's trait makes dice explode on 80 or more (Made in heaven noted that they are working on rewording the traits). Some quick math on that.
Technor is 26+18+10(xp)=54, crit failure is 40, so 1% failure, success is 80 so we succeed on a 26 or more, or 75% chance, crit success is 160, so we succeed only on a 100 (near-guaranteed after that)
Goofy is 27+18+10= 55, crit failure is 60, so 5% failure, success is 80 so we succeed on a 25 or more, or 76% chance, crit success is 160, but we duplicate on a 80. Rolling an 80 means we'd need 25 (dropping by one for every bit above 80), so about a 85% chance if we make 80, or 1/5*85%=17%
So switching from Technor to Goofy does the following.
Increases odds of crit fail by 4%, Increases odds of Success by 1%, Increases odds of crit success by 16%
@Made in Heaven if any of this is wrong, please, please correct me. I do not want to misinform anyone into voting for a plan they didn't intend. I wrote an omake, because a scenario powerfully compelled me, but like, I do not want to deceive anyone. Regardless of what wins, I hope the omake brought people some happiness.

Hmm. It's not as useful here, then, but in general that makes this a much stronger trait than I thought. For instance, oddly enough, it makes Goofy currently the best choice for decode odd transmissions, despite having effecive learning 1. Since he crits on an 80 or higher, that's a 20% chance to crit with an average result of 90. 38+1+90=129, so he'd then need an average of 71 on the exploding roll to succeed. Effectively, he has a 6% chance (10% with personal attention) to succeed on it even now, whereas our next best unit for it, Jookiba, has a .8%.

That being said, @Nystical ... could I interest you in swapping The Resistance out for fixing Norm? I understand the thread is pretty fixated on the resistance, and wanting to get it out of the way, and potentially finding leads on Phineas and Ferb, and I get all that. Sincerely.
But no matter how I look at it, fixing up Norm seems more important. That's one of our best Martial units we're letting languish longer than we need to.
Have Dennis make sandwiches, swap out Ludivine for Lizzy, and have Ludivine work on Norm. I still think that's a workable plan that will tackle more of what we immediately need, rather than potential leads and minor annoyances.

The issue with that is that while Norm is a great Martial hero he isn't our best and we don't have many Martial actions that his trait doesn't apply for so losing him for two turns isn't that big a loss

Personally, I'd like to think he's listening as Goofy reads stories to CJ.
(Story reading came from thinking, okay how would Goofy treat and AI and teach it to be personable, also since her origin was reading a story it just felt... dunno, like an emergent story trait)
