Rule 3 & 4
if the witchbomb isn't in it, it's going to be one or more of (massively whitewashed, gives listener a lot of questions you were hoping to avoid, contains outright lies).
@Firnagzen told you that you are wrong:
The Witchbomb... look, Homura knows better than to just drop it on Mami right out of the blue, and she can avoid the topic with relative ease, and she knows to look to you on something like this..
Homura can avoid the topic WITH EASE.
  • Homura doesn't understand Mami, but she has interacted with Mami for a decade and knows exactly what kinds of things Mami can catch.
  • This explanation does not necessarily involve the witchbomb.
  • The witchbomb might have small bearing on Homura's relationship with Madoka but it has nothing on her relationship with Mami.
  • Homura can avoid it with ease even taking into account that Mami will be asking questions.
  • Homura's story does not need to be totally 100% the whole truth and nothing but the truth; that's moving the goalposts. I will take literally anything related to the fact that Homura is looping and it will be a huge breakthrough.
And yet you're still stating, without any elaboration at all, that the witchbomb is somehow super totally important and that without it nothing makes sense. I don't understand how you're still saying that when I and several other people have presented multiple ways that Homura can totally skip the witchbomb with negligible difficulty or impact.
If Homura somehow pulls this off perfectly and actually includes everything you're all hoping to see without referencing the witchbomb, I will actually go outside without a coat and let myself get rained on for like half an hour.
I don't give a shit about the form of your ritual penitence. I would prefer that you don't fuck this up. Your vote totally ignores half of the next update ("How do you explain your part in Homura's story", which is literally in the defaults).
It's almost certainly better to make the offer after Mami reacts to what's on the table at the current time, which, uh...
How about this. You admit that we need to let Mami finish her first response without being witchbombed. Once Mami's done that... why the urgency? Mami will have already reacted. It does not matter if her post-witchbomb update arrives tonight or tomorrow night. You are going off half-cocked at a bad time with no plan, no backup, no preparation, and no room for error, at the cost of fucking over Homura's reaction to all of this. Homura does not need to help us witchbomb Mami. She will need to deal with the fact that she was just able to share her story. We do not need to hijack her giant damn breakthrough by making it all about Mami the instant Homura finishes talking. We need to give Homura time to process what will have just happened. You don't fucking do that by traumatizing someone else and forcing her to participate in the instant therapy session.

Like, look at this shit:
Don't forget that promise you made to Mami
"Don't do it."
then you know it's going to be a difficult slog.
"Don't do it."
Even in the best of times, it's not an easy pill to swallow
"Don't do it."
If you don't, if you want to find a better time, then just... don't.
"Don't do it."
There will be opportunities to come.
"Don't do it."

Don't witchbomb Mami here.

Vebyast, how can you promote the ideas I wholeheartedly agree with while using such vitriolic turn of phrase and maintaining blatant disrespect to your opponent?
No, seriously, is that a perk I could've picked up when I was born if only someone had told me about it?
'Offensively Tsundere' or something?

It's like you have two posing modes: angry and planning.
Sorry, three: there's also angrily planning.

[X] let Homura explain

Ello, this is a theory from a newcomer sorry if it already been stated by someone else
I may be new here but I'd like to note something about Feathers
Feathers may not be dedolere, dedolere name means as stated by our gm to grieve no more but Feathers every action even hiding in the background seem to be directed at causing conflict, stress or simply to ruin our efforts
What if they are by product of the wish like we possibly are like the Wraiths for Madokami's wish to remove witch's, what if her wish due to the zero sum effect wish's have in balancing things out created an antithesis to us
Specifically a long game playing one intent on either keeping things as they previously were or to make it somehow worse for lack of a better thought

Ps I'm curious if we can alter our malleability enchantments to simply alter a select few attributes of an object instead of make it into putty, it could be useful later not to mention we could prank the others with extreme high calorie food meant to override the no no purposeful gain of a magi's body or to make cheap metals into the hardest material for armour possible for when nact comes a 'naching' pardon the pun

I do agree with the overriding sentiment in the thread that Homura is extremely unlikely to go into sufficient detail about her past that sharing the Witchbomb is at all necessary. It's a miracle that she's saying anything at all, so expecting her to jump to sharing everything is... unwise.

I'd like to see this positive breakthrough on Homura's part through without immediately jumping into another massive slog. When you also consider Firn's unsubtle hints... I simply can't agree with any plans to Witchbomb Mami at this time.

That said... there is one other point of Kaizuki's that I do agree with, which is that we don't know how much or how little Homura will actually share - we have a bit of a meta hint in that we've been prompted to provide an explanation of our own side, but without that, I wouldn't have been surprised if Homura choked out "I'm a time traveller" and then clammed up.

This evening has already stretched a while, and combined with the meta hint I'm inclined to give Brina-pilot some lassitude here and let her handle providing any necessary background information for our origins that Homura didn't cover. Still, it's probably worth tweaking the vote slightly to make that explicit.

[x] Let Homura tell it her way
-[X] Give her whatever support she needs to be able to tell it HER way. Support her unreservedly, help her get through the rough bits, deploy whatever hugs are necessary, don't stand for her insulting herself. Being able to share this should help her a lot.
[X] Tell more about yourself when she's finished:
-[X] Provide any necessary background information that Homura might have elided.
--[X] This is why you talked about maybe not having a past: You're reasonably sure you were created as a result of Homura and Madoka, much less so the specifics. You have... several different ideas of how someone like you could be made, some nice, some harrowing. It's something you need to look into.
---[X] You have far far more than that keeping you here now, (hold Mami's hand for emphasis).

While I was in exile, I messed around in Inkscape and tried to put together pictures for Sayaka and Sabrina's enchantments.

"Oh, sure!" Sayaka says, tossing the stone to Mami. It's turned a deep, translucent blue, studded with silver and gold bandings, and as you peer over Mami's shoulder, you can see what look like stars twinkling in the depths of the enchanted stone.

You hold the rock out to Mami, your own grin stretching from ear to ear. You did it. You think. The rock isn't so much a rock any more as it is a flat, vaguely oval badge, embossed patterns vaguely reminiscent of your Soul Gem carved deep into the dull glint of its silvery surface. Curving arcs and jagged triangles, clustered so that they look vaguely like the splash of an impact... or perhaps the flare of wings.

I don't give a shit about the form of your ritual penitence. I would prefer that you don't fuck this up. Your vote totally ignores half of the next update ("How do you explain your part in Homura's story", which is literally in the defaults).

How about this. You admit that we need to let Mami finish her first response without being witchbombed. Once Mami's done that... why the urgency? Mami will have already reacted. [x] Godwinson

So I don't have time to argue with you because I have finals this week.

I don't have time to deal with your misconceptions, or your vitriol, or your ability to write posts until three in the god damn morning. I don't have time to deal with your singlehanded belief that "Homura can easily omit the witchbomb" somehow is incompatible with what I said, and may I note by the way that it is not in the SLIGHTEST. Omitting the Witchbomb is easy. Doing it without any of the three results I mentioned is not.

I have literally tried to do it personally for like forty hours total. But you don't care about that. You don't trust me, or respect me, or literally anything else.

And I'm done with it. I'm done with being obligated to give you the benefit of the doubt without receiving it in turn. I'm done with not being able to stand up to you. I'm sick and fucking tired of this keeping me up past midnight because you are ruining my life.

So you win, Vebyast. You've singlehandedly thrown me out of this quest by refusing to read my posts, refusing to respect me, and spending more time than I can afford on arguing me down.

You win. Now live with your winnings.

@Firnagzen?

Please reinstate that ban. I'm done having anything to do with this quest until something changes.

Right, this change captures what I felt was needed in Kaizuki's vote, so I'm returning to the addendum I think was necessary from my old vote.

Somewhat modified, just keeping the idea of "we can talk at any time" while dropping the last remnants of the whole "purpose" bit and expanding the last section. (Because the whole "you have far, far more than that now" does not really follow from being created and was never intended to.)

*Pops back into thread*
*looks at Kai's post*
Guys. You can't be serious.
Why for the love of god can't we have a civil conversation for one week? Seriously, it's a pattern now. Aren't we all aiming for the same goal? Vebyast, Let me be blunt here. You've made this quest less enjoyable. Every time I see one of your posts being angry at someone, I roll my eyes and say "here we go again" it's fucking irritating because you make good points most of the time, but your only way of pushing those points are needlessly aggressive. Please, for the love of god. Relax and remember to be nice.

Pro tip: Practice in private. Hate yourself enough for long enough and you'll be forced to figure out ways to think that don't stop working when you're angry at the person you're talking to.

...I love how you keep missing the entire point of these posts.

You have good points, but you are being -to be blunt- a rude-ass bitch every time you raise them, and frankly I'm starting to not care how right you are when you're so obnoxious about it.

Stop attacking people for no fucking reason. Just stop. You have literally driven someone out of the thread with this bullshit. Cut it the fuck out. If you think you're justified in acting like this then you're wrong because this kind of asshole behaviour is not justifiable.

Practicing in private and hating yourself only teaches you how to think when you're angry at yourself. It doesn't teach you how to think when you're angry at people who aren't you, or how to persuade people who aren't you.
