If you want, I guess? There's probably a thread for Star Wars novels around here somewhere, too.Eh. You know, I think Michael Stackpole was a bette
Wait, wait, wait, this is Puella Magi Adfligo Systema.
We can continue this discussion in PMs, if you want?
This is basically a case of me copying an incorrect usage I'd seen by someone who was clearly not as fluent as they thought they were. (Not something I would usually do, but I was in a goofy mood and hadn't had my coffee yet.) In English, basically all I was going for was, "Slow your roll there, buddy." Smart-ass, sure, but not insulting.Secondly, 'omae' never punctuates a statement when using it as a friendly term. The grammar rules in English are different so I admit that one was more of a knee-jerk reaction, but still.
Based on what we've been told about her so far, I don't think she would do something so generically supervillain-esque. It doesn't really fit what Nadia told us about her or what she said to justify her own actions to us (and possibly to herself). Further information might prove otherwise, but I think Riona probably needs those justifications to live with herself. And, if you recall, the scenario I painted earlier is Riona attacking people because they're our friends, specifically.
I now will mentally replace all subtitles for "teme" and "kisama" with Scottish insults. When I said 'omae' was one of the rudest forms of 'you' in the sense of meaning 'bastard', I meant in conventional speech. 'Teme' and 'Kisama' and the others you brought up are from older dialects that are technically out of phase, so their use in anime is basically to convey a sense of "Man I fucking hate you so goddamn motherfucking month I slipped into fucking YE OLDE SPEAK TO CALL YOU A BITCH."

(Aaron Allston was by far the better writer, probably my favorite to ever work on the franchise, BTW. )
Whuh-oh! I sure do hate the feeling of eggshells between my toes.Hey uh as a Japanese person I literally don't appreciate you using the rudest version of 'you' my language has to offer. You essentially called me a bastard. What called for this?
I'm not familiar with that one; the one I watch says "Hey guys!"Its like how that virtual youtuber says "Fack yu!" in a cutesy way, assuming it meant a light insult.
ai kizunaI'm not familiar with that one; the one I watch says "Hey guys!"
Asking her what she needs for her magic flask does sound like a good idea.Random thought: Get Riona more cider. Surely Homu's got some she can share, and with timestop, grief control, and a cellphone, we can make it look like we just pulled the cider out of hammerspace.
I'm sure this will get us enough Riona points that she will refrain from murder... as long as we keep giving showing our worth by giving her cider.
See, there's something one needs to understand about those who manipulate the Soul. They have seen all there is to humanity, and understand it's worth naught.
What really matters?
The drinks.
Whuh-oh! I sure do hate the feeling of eggshells between my toes.
I didn't call anyone anything;Just as a friendly warning, let's respect it when someone says they don't want to be called something, yeah?.
I'm sure she isn't in the mood for a deep chat, I agree.@HeroCycle as I said about her drinking patterns, Riona doesn't seem to be in a mood to answer more questions. When we asked, she drank.
I'm sure she isn't in the mood for a deep chat, I agree.
You are supporting that from her descriptions.
Where we diverge is in the concept that we will have to go farther from her comfort zone, and get her to show us what we are interested in. I want us to pursue backstory. Simply learning that she is a veteran and desensitized to violence is not enough data.
Why should we not try? We do not need to repeatedly smack any triggers we discover. But as the person coming to our place, she can be asked as long as we respect hospitality and common sense.
Rionna has motive to talk about the hard choices she has made, whatever reasoning that is. I suspect that she wants to withdraw, now that her Justice mission is fubar. Sabrina has different motives, and wants to predict Rionna's future performance, based upon the rest of the morality and history she can discover. We are trying to see the person from all angles.
I am eagerly awaiting more primary material. What are the odds we have to add substance abuse counseling to our therapist wishlist? We could probably argue hypotheticals like this all day. If we wanted to try reading more into the flask, you could get "If I'm able to fully process what I've done, what I've seen, I'll grief spiral on the spot."
If that's the case, we'd need to get her a lot more sloshed than she is for her to safely tell us anything. Us dragging that stuff up would make her process it.

Likely she can talk about it, particularly if Sabrina is there to purge her Grief. We can make it safe.
If she was coping with the witchbomb by addiction, we might be her only way to unload safely?
I didn't call anyone anything;
I've learned where this rabbit hole goes already, thank you very much.
So I'm just going to chime in here.i should not have to do this First of all, the warning was not for you choosing to call someone something, it was for respecting that choice. Secondly, if you want to argue with a moderator, do so in private messages or better yet, the Ask A Private Question or Appeals forums. I'm going to give you a staff notice under rule 5, and then we'll forget this incident and you can go back to enjoying the quest, yeah?
