@MMKII I'd rather save the alcohol Misterators for the next plan, once most of the participants are gathered in one place. For this one, it'd require Noburi's involvement, and I'd prefer that he and Hazou not interact until the EM gambit has been set up.

On that note, I'm going to sleep. I'll be online before the deadline in case we need last minute changes, but the plan seems solid enough as is.
ROOMBA WRITE THAT HAZOU WILL RE-APPLY HIS HENGE OTHERWISE HE WILL NOT BE DISGUISED AND WILL GET DQ'D DO IT DO IT DO IT

Ok yeah I didn't realize we were doing a second plan at that point.

However we will need to check with Noburi and get the materials a priori (so like, this next update probably) otherwise it will look suspicious for us, right?

The Fake Sneeze Gas threat
  • Hazou uses Sleight of Hand to plant harmless training seals in various locations. Spend FP on him having them, if necessary.
  • He also occasionally leaves a meaningless "coded" message in spots that seem like they'd be good for dead drops.
  • In conversations, he offers in confidence that he overheard some people in the maze talking about unleashing a gas in the mansion that is supposed to cause rapid and violent sneezing. Aren't ninja just weird sometimes?

What exactly are 'training seals' in this context? Papers with uninfused seals drawn on them?

REN: So, to summarise, Shin almost killed the Gouketsu kids. The Gouketsu... retaliated in their usual manner. And now we have over a hundred drunken ninja, an entirely derailed event, and a mansion that needs rebuilding from when a pissed proctor "got a bit fighty". Anyone have anything to add?

GRUE: Nom.

Preparing the alcohol Misterators is something that would need to be done in advance of people gathering in one area - if they're not ready then, then they won't be ready by the time that happens, as we can't be certain that the others will actually stay in the intended gathering zone.

Alright, @Roomba please remove "the second level game", that's too obvious that we're a ninja and assuming we aren't fully outed we may as well pretend to be a civilian.

How telling is it that she can tell what our usual manner is having only met Hazou for a few moments? :p

Right, added "Hazou Henges" and removed "The Second Level Game" from @Roomba's plan. Also added a way to contact Hinata without talking (have paper under clothing/Henge, which only a Byakugan user could see). Edit: More changes, this is now invalid.

[X] Action Plan: The Pressure Cooker SIC

This plan will ideally take us until the Elemental Mastery gambit described either bears fruit or fails. We'd like the update to end at that point in order to separately plan how we want to capitalize on what we have wrought.

1. Escape the tunnel
Hazou moves to the collapsed tunnel exit and uses the tunneling technique to create a new one, aiming to emerge at the original entrance point. Before exiting to the surface, Hazou will Henge into his cover identity. Conceal the new entrance afterwards, if it can be done quickly and quietly.

2. Discuss the plan with our teammates
  • Find a secluded spot away from the tunnel entrance.
  • Check Hazou's equipment for signs of tampering. This includes if anything's been stolen AND if anything's been added to Hazou's equipment.
  • Hazou relates what happened to him and hears what Noburi and Keiko have been up to.
    • He strongly suspects he was followed when he went to dig the tunnel, and consequently, that his assailant knew his identity at the time.
    • Given that the assailant was a Wakahisa, obvious suspects are either Team Downfall or a rogue proctor.
    • In any case, Hazou believes that our enemies stepped up their cheating, and that conventional strategies will no longer result in a good score for this event.
    • After hearing Noburi's story, Hazou expresses surprise that Hinata didn't warn Noburi about the trap, which she should've been able to see with her Byakugan.
  • He explains his plan (found under points 3 and 4), and asks for feedback from his teammates.
    • Hazou himself is compromised and will be watched the moment he makes a public appearance. Keiko and Noburi's identities might be as well, so they should exercise great caution.
    • Because of this, Hazou himself will provide a distraction, while they execute the real plan.
    • The plan hinges on Akane's help and breaks opsec on Elemental Mastery. Hazou isn't happy about it, but it's the safest idea he has under the circumstances.
  • Noburi and Hazou are low on chakra, and we might need to support Akane later. If there's an opportunity to ambush a candidate safely in the maze and drain them a bit, go for it. If not, there will be more opportunities later.
  • Update should end if Keiko deems the idea unworkable or too reckless.
3. The Elemental Mastery Gambit
  • The basic idea is to use Elemental Mastery to increase the temperature in most of the event area to uncomfortable levels, derailing the party and herding participants into a single area. Capitalize afterwards.
    • The purpose is to disrupt the event, derail any ongoing plans, and pressure both other candidates and proctors into bad decisions.
    • Increasing the ambient temperature will let us distinguish ninja from civilian via observing their sweat dissipate after leaving their chakra body.
    • Hazou is open to ideas on how to capitalize effectively - Noburi was always good at this kind of thing.
      • We could exacerbate the situation by getting everyone drunk via booze misterators (see Preparation: Spanner in the Works).
  • Find Akane and ask her for help.
    • Agree on a signal in case she refuses, in which case the update should end.
    • Easiest way would be to use Bonku, but Hazou leaves this (and most of the plan's execution) up to Noburi and Keiko's judgement.
    • Be very careful about this and make absolutely sure nobody ends up taking note of Akane. Her safety in this plan depends on her evading attention while traversing the mansion.
      • Keiko and Noburi could make some false contacts along the way, to preserve OPSEC.
    • We want her to place EM zones along the perimeter of the grounds, and then within the mansion itself, with the intent of driving all the party participants into an exposed, open area.
    • The target temperature should be enough to make people sweat without being dangerous (35-45 degrees Celsius?).
    • There's no rush - Akane should take great care not to give herself away, prioritizing that over speed. Nobody should see her cut handseals for EM, and she should always cast it from a distance.
    • Once the participants have gathered in the designated zone, place EM there as well, but at a lower temperature, encouraging them to stay, but still causing them to sweat.
    • If we get Hinata she could use her bullshit eyes to make sure there's nobody asleep in the mansion or whatever, to ensure total evacuation. Doesn't have to happen, just a thought.
    • Decide on an out of the way safe-zone, where we can direct allies, and which we'll cool with ice from our storage scrolls. Perhaps a remote break room?
  • Notify our allies of the safe zone.
    • Ideally, this should be the whole SuperTeam, or however many of them Keiko and Noburi can find.
    • This can happen concurrently with Akane setting up the EM zones.
    • Only tell them that the location will be safe if they need it, without specifying what the threat is.
      • If Team Asuma want in, explain the plan to them, but request some chakra for Noburi as a buy-in.
    • Hazou can suggest writing a message and hiding it under their clothes/Henge, which only Hinata could see.
  • Wait until the plan bears fruit. Our team get ready to unleash more chaos on the congregated partygoers.
  • Contingency: Henge breaking via sweat
    • Hazou suspects this might happen. He suggests we find a break room overlooking a cooler area so we can spot Henge breaks from far away.
4. Preparation: The Spanner in the Works
  • Once everyone is congregated due to Step 3 above, we plan on using Misterators to disperse a diluted alcoholic mist into the air for people to breathe and become intoxicated.
  • The point of this is to sabotage any further plans in the works and to make everyone else easier to manipulate.
  • Obviously if we can find members of SuperTeam leaf as in Step 3 we will try not to target them as best as we can. If we cannot we then proceed anyway.
  • Noburi will use his medical knowledge to calculate an extremely safe (but still effective) concentration to use.
  • Before (or even during) the distraction in Step 5, Noburi/Keiko can go to the kitchen to acquire the necessary amount of water and sake. If needed, spend a fate point to declare that there is a sufficient volume of sake available., unguarded by chefs. "There sure is a lot of sake around here unaccompanied."
    • We may not need to steal it if it's being sold. Have real money ready.
  • Noburi tests the sake to make sure there are no extra elements added to it, then calculates the concentration.
  • Noburi and Hazou mix the solution and prepare the Misterators.
5. The Distraction (doesn't need to happen on-screen)
  • Hazou's identity is almost surely compromised, and disseminated to an unknown number of parties. However, whoever knocked him out expect him to stay knocked out, and will surely be distracted if he suddenly becomes publicly active. This should run concurrently with our preparations in Steps 3 and 4.
  • Hazou adjusts his persona to appear a bit drunk and more gregarious and outgoing for this.
  • He goes out of his way to talk to a lot of people and move around with apparent purpose.
  • The Fake Sneeze Gas threat
    • Hazou uses Sleight of Hand to plant harmless training seals in various locations. Spend FP on him having them, if necessary.
    • He also occasionally leaves a meaningless "coded" message in spots that seem like they'd be good for dead drops.
    • In conversations, he offers in confidence that he overheard some people in the maze talking about unleashing a gas in the mansion that is supposed to cause rapid and violent sneezing. Aren't ninja just weird sometimes?
  • He tries to keep an eye out for anyone specifically following him throughout.

Gonna say this again... we really need to pre-plan on how to capitalize. The main thing is noticing the sweat (which is not something we need to preplan for much, just need to have enough people on our side looking), and apparently from eaglejarl's answer it would take around ten minutes of heavy sweating to pop henges, with rehydration maybe or maybe not working. But if we want to add on any kind of thing like the alcohol aerosol thing, we need to have that prepped enough in advance. (not sure we could spend a fate point on it)

@faflec you need to add acquisition and preparation of the booze misterators to the distraction.

Something bulleted like:

1) We plan on rigging misterators to use a diluted alcohol solution once everyone is congregated to get people drunk (we will probs dilute sake) and easier to sabotage

2) Can Noburi figure out safe concentrations for this?

3) If so then we go to the kitchens and Declare (use one fate point)that there are still a few leftover bottles of sake lying around the kitchen materials, unaccompanied with the chefs gone to bed. We nab it and prepare the seals for later

After the first few henges pop of dehydration most ninjas will figure out, if nothing else, that henges are breaking and it would be better to not be where everyone can see them, so trying to gain points from popping henges through sweat is a non-starter. Keeping track of sweat, on the other hand, is easy, can be done subtly, and is less likely to get ninjas leaving crowded areas.

@faflec coming out of the collapsed tunnel without doing anything to see if we are being watched is just begging to be ambushed

We actually do need to preplan for it. Notably, having Keiko memorize as many names as she can.

This isn't reason to draw more attention to ourselves and all but ensure we're made by everyone.
Agreed on this point. once our show starts, people aren't going to have time to disseminate information. Though, the point of the distraction is to get people's attention while Keiko and Noburi enact their parts of the plan.

Also seriously guys you are giving no thought to how all of our opponents will try deal with our attacks. Y'all are making the exact same mistake you did last time

At this point we're going for the critical hit or we're doomed to have a mediocre score this event.

Heads up guys, I am less than willing to make more alterations to my plan, mainly because I'm a lazy fuck. Please ping @Roomba with your thoughts and hopefully the original plan will get edited with your suggestions.

@faflec Can you include in the plan contingencies for if henges start popping to sweat? We have nothing for that. Something like, if Hazou suspects that sweating might pop henges, to instead find a break room overlooking the cooler spot outside for Keiko to spot henge-popping competitors from?
