Seriously, we should at least clarify what sending philosophers into Tortun is likely to do before we vote for it. I mean, obviously it's going to be hilarious, but if some people are voting for it to try and bleed Germany and some are voting for it to unify it, someone's going to have regrets at the end of the day.

Different time ranges. The Tortuga is inherently unstable and has so little control over component vassals that they regularly wage war on and ruin each other.

What the philosophers would do NOW is aggravate the problem, make it so they have vassals rebelling everywhere and generally fracture.

Due to their neighbors, EVERYONE is going to go Gib Clay and bite chunks off.

BUT, such a fracture also sweeps out the problem that makes it possible. After such a break, it could stabilize into many medium sized and fiercely independent states(if the reformers get their way) or the center finally gets their excuse to move armies and secure their reduced land under crown control(if the reformists flop) or a range in between.

Basically its due to explode any time now but running on momentum. We're just triggering it on our schedule and using it to inject Ymaryn favoring rebels into the system so that more splinter states would be in our favor, of our culture and taught under our methods.

Bonus, if we don't grab the clay militarily, it keeps us smelling like roses. And if they WANT to join us...well that takes crazy luck

Consolidation continues to be really nice, and if Britain and Scandinavia feel like helping us beat on the colonialists, all the better, and considering the Kielmyr triple crown's proximity, more influence over them is always nice.

-and this is right when nationalism really hits. This is going to hurt. Crow help us if the French revolution kicks off at the same time while we're still ununified and Russia is still a feudal mess.

Not too sure about throwing philosophers at the Tortun (esp. since as noted we don't know exactly what the goal of that even is) so tactical-voting for the next option that has half a chance of winning to try & narrow the gap.

It has been explained what the strategic goal of destabilizing them AND promoting Ymaryn favorable moral ideas while we're at it?

The only ones claiming theres no goal are the silent voters. The expected objective is very much known. We're destabilizing them in a deniable manner so that they splinter and as a result also kick the colonial/slaving powers as they try to avoid the same, stressing their economies.

These, other than Complete Integration, are all about fanning flames and generating regional disruption so we can finish securing our successors.

They just differ in the level of deniability and military commitment.

What did they do? (Pick two)

On our border?

Keep in mind that we're hoping to diploannex Russia, which isn't nearly as progressive as Neo-Ymarr, which isn't nearly as progressive as Paleo-Ymmar.

Ideas are like fires. You can decide where to set them, but you can't decide where they'll burn. Marxism in particular calls for constant global revolution without regard for state borders.

Far better to integrate with Russia and loan to the triple crown so we can pursue a Ymaryn super-state from Poland to Scandinavia to India with strong alliances with North Africa and China.

Destabilizing the HRE just as nationalism kicks off and the French come raging across Europe while we are still ununified and Russia is still a feudal basket case could be a catastrophically bad idea.

Moscow burned.

Which...does not align with the state of the continent at present?
They're a disunified mess getting MORE disunified. We're completing integration while also selling ideas we have already adopted, speeding the integrationg along.

Where are the french going to get super terminator powers from and why would they be interested in our direction rather than feasting on the breaking Germanies and Portugal?

Nationalism hadn't even started yet...if anything our agenda of restoring Greater Ymaryn is the closest to it of the whole region.

Would you want to face a western Eurpo ruled by a single power?

From the same place they got it last time? At the beginning of the French revolution who would have expected that a French empire would end up burning Moscow? That was a period of seventeen years and we're on lightning rounds.
