Also, for the vote weighting thing, it is because my usual carrot and stick methods of loss of Stability, Legitimacy, and Prestige are unavailable. Making nice with this latest khan would have probably triggered a Civil War in normal play via loss of legitimacy and prestige, causing vassals to break away or otherwise stir up shit.
Yeah, so I guess this pretty much means that the ignore option would normally have been a +stability or legitimacy option, and we all know how well those tend to work out for us...

Noble: Hah! You weak fools! Your appeasement and alliance to the barbarians would've fractured us into even more tiny pieces than the goddamn HRE! *scoffs*

Now, the exciting part.

Well, good thing the 'make nice with' vote was impossible, then.

Now, the exciting part.

The part where Genghis kills everyone and destroys our irrigation systems so the land can't grow crops properly, devastating the region for centuries to come? At this point Ymar deserves it.

the vote's closed.

And now we risk getting burned to the ground like the sack of Carthage x10.

Sooooo much better than playing a Bismarck and reuniting the Empire.

"I am the punishment of Crow. If you had not committed great sins, Crow would not have sent a punishment like me upon you."

Pfft! Do you truly think that everyone wouldn't have rushed in to grab all our land if that happened? At least this way of going out is exciting rather than depressing.
I don't really find having all our cities sacked and our people scattered or enslaved all that exciting honestly.

Fights with Nomads usually weren't European set piece battles you might be thinking of, they were quick, brutal engagements involving overrunning and terrorizing the enemy.

Think less the Epic Age with the Khem and more the terror of getting fucked by the Pure.

Why not put those back in?

While the previous system was a mess of dozens of things to keep track of, having 2-3 numbers (legitimacy and stability could be rolled together maybe) seems entirely reasonable.

Yes exactly! It's Exciting! This quest had gotten pretty boring lately, a brutal war always makes everything better.
