I mean, I would not be surprised if BoneyM decides to make the fate of the Norse Dwarfs be something other than canon's "all these Dwarf holds that have stood for thousands of years are wiped out in a less than a year."

I see we're counting chickens when you've yet to even check the henhouse for eggs, and it's been occupied by foxes for eighteen decades.
It is as good way of passing time as any other...

Many people that feelt really optimistic with Vlag and what we got from Uzkulak feel now a little sullen after the death of Gotrek and the fate of Dum, so we are hoping for some interesting side quests on our way back to wash that bitter aftertaste from our mouths...

After all, there are so many other worse options to pick from. We've seen dwarves partnered with Hashut, with Slaanesh, and with Beastmen. Anyone up for some Nurgledwarves?

[posts and posts about all the cool shit to see on the northern route]

we're never talking to another person on this expedition again, are we

To be honest, I'm only seeing three, maybe four AP worth of quests—the chaos cup, investigate norse dwarf ruins, investigate hellpit, and investigate the norsemen, and the only two I think are interesting are the cup and the ruins (which I expect to be empty, anyway).

We have three weeks before we reach kislev, so that's 12 AP total, which gives us at least 8 social actions by my reckoning.

Then we have to cross troll country to get to Praag, which could be another two to three weeks (8-12 AP), and the only quest worthy stuff there is probably going to be procedurally generated sites of interest and random encounters (at least, I'm not aware of anything of note in that region in canon).

(Unless Boney timeskips us past troll country, that is).

The only people we haven't spoken to on the trip are Alexandra, Joerg, and the light choir. That gives us at least five more AP to spend, assuming no troll country turns and full questing—so Snorri, Ruprecht, Asarnil, Deathfang and Ljiljana at least. We probably want to fit in Egrimm on top of that, and then maybe rotate though the wizards again—I wouldn't mind trying to recruit a few of the journeymen for the duckling club.

But that's starting to drift into egg counting, so I'll stop there.

The thing you're missing is that we'll probably be spending 2 or 3 actions a week on casting RoW.

If only there was some way we, a Lady Magister and amateur Battle Wizard, could get through a locked door.

But you're probably right, nothing to be done. Some things are beyond even us.

Blowing up the Dum Dwarves door doesn't seem like it would make them inclined to cooperate with us, nor would it help them last longer against the Chaos Wastes.
