Quick check, did Master Greatsword (1/4) come from this action? I assume that it did, I am just surprised that not only does Mathilde only need AP investment to get there, but a low roll still means an entire point of progress, and better rolls could give us two. I figured it would be a longer process and would involve getting into situations that pushed her limits. On the flipside, it does make a lot of sense that Mathilde would be better at attaining a master's level of effectiveness when her sword can do all these things to cheat. What would normally require years of intensive improvement of mind and body in order to bring a mundane sword to the upper reaches of combat effectiveness is now dramatically shorted by how Mathilde only needs to master the unique quirks of her weapon to make it just as deadly.

I suspect it's because Branulhune is essentially a 'cheat', yeah. Being able to vanish and reappear the blade means she can develop techniques and fight on a master level without the general refinement and experience that would normally be needed, at the cost of 'only' being a master when using Branulhune specifically.

Anyway, i am voting monogamy and do not consider myself settling, already have everything i could hope for in romance department for this quest.

It was just a joke mate. I doubt Polygamy is even going to win considering the voting trends of the thread let alone the prospect of going for more unrelated romantic interests. Personally, I find Pan a tad boring but to each their own.

In terms of the actions:

I'm very pleased with the progress on Fog Path - we nailed down a huge number of edge cases that could have caused major issues. It's unfortunate that we didn't finish it this action, but that was always likely given how big a job this was. Right now I'm leaning towards putting the Coin on Gambler next turn to maximize the odds that we get the Fog Path spell finished in time, but I'm willing to be convinced otherwise.

I dub the robes "good enough". They protect to the limits of our skill with Aethyric Armor, and even the 15 minute minimum duration should keep us tireless through a full fight. There is room for improvement, of course, but I'm happy to defer that to some years down the line (and next time, I won't settle for not getting We silk).

Branarhune looks sweet. Nice to see all that speculation about the uses of a disappearing sword being put into practice.

@BoneyM , I have to ask, how many winners will be picked? Will we get the top four, or, in case we continue with Panoramia, will be get top three plus Pan-Pan?

@BoneyM, for what it worth, I enjoy the romance voting in even for the ones we didn't follow up on, it still offer interesting and important insight and paths for future choices and actions later on.

Even if this 'finishing' vote have to happen in this way, I still offer hats off for the romance plotline and this amazing story and whatever else we end up going, or doing.

The poly option would also have everything you already have though. You're not voting to have more of what you hope for, you're voting specifically to deny other voters a romance option they hope for.

    I would very much like the Protector on the next turn.
    We haven't used that face so far and I'd like to see it shine.

    It's a very mild preference, but I'm happy to admit that I like seeing proper polyamory in stories.

    that in my eye make her one of the better mages out there.
    not be all "paise magic" and more like "well i don`t know how that happend but it happened. maybe i can figure out Why.

    Well yes, in terms of actually getting shit done she's pretty good, but in terms of fitting Wizardly stereotypes not so much.
     
    Yeah, to be honest, we want the Protector for the expedition--we want it very much.

    Still, Fog Path looks close enough to being finished that it would take a catastrophic roll to not have it online in time for the mission.
