Hey, Random question here. What is Belegars opinion on immigration? We do have an awful lot of humans in the peek, but those are the ones who have worked in the... campaign, so to speak. What's his opinion on bringing in human and halfling farmers?
I think it's location based, the halflings can probably bring as many farmers as can comfortably fit inside the caldera, and the Undumgi can get wives and tradesmen as long as they stay in .. Und..umgi..ak? The place they are supposed to guard.

The Undumgi populate Karag Nar, they aren't restricted to Und Uzgar.

one of Belegar's complaints was that he didn't think the dwarves would need more than one mountain, so i think he would be pretty ok with immigration.
Of course, that was before we took the whole K8p back, so he might be more optimistic now.

So this is a random thought, but now that the whole Conqeust is fully and completely done, someone should totally try to write an actual song about it. I'm not nearly good enough with lyrics to do it myself, but it sounds like the sort of thing that would be cool if done right.

Wolves don't do that 'Alpha/Beta' stuff, actually. The study that came up with those terms was based on the behaviors of wolves in captivity; and wolves in captivity basically form up like prison gangs. Wolves in the wild operate off of nuclear families; as in, a father, a mother, grandparent wolves, child wolves, that sort of thing.

Sorry if that sounds pedantic or anything. It's just that the actual social behaviors of wolves are much more wholesome than that 'Alpha/Beta' stuff, and knowledge about them should be spread.
I also find this extremely irritating, specifically for its effects in Werewolf Fiction...

You have so many examples of the continuous fight for dominance for the pack... Or worse the "werewolf harems" that it is no longer funny anymore...

Heigh Ho Heigh Ho, It‘s Home From War We Go!!
Heigh Ho Heigh Ho, It's Home From War We Go!!

I think bad paranormal romance literature with harems would be almost certain to exist regardless, you can't blame that one on mistaken wolf research :V

I mean it's a bit mercenary but there's always the life extension method of doing the Shallyans a solid.

Who knows what wonders we might learn while abroad in shadowelfland! Jamming our soul into Bok's body and overwriting its programming to become Elementilde could be in the cards, with a few decades of coaching from Kragg on the fundamentals of the dwarfy bits! 🧙‍♂️

in all seriousness (in a way) I would go for the Shallyan one.

every eightly year mathy goes back to being a child to remaster a different Wind.

Hmmm... I think I know of a good favor we could ask. Or at least an Omegahugger approved favor.

When our experimentation into mixed-wind magic through the use of tongs in a method clearly cribbed from necromancy, our investigation of undifferentiated magic, our attempts to replicate theurgy (a feat most often seen in use by the undead and chaos sorcerers), our reading of the very foundational document of modern necromancy, our research into the nature of souls and the warp, or any other similar shenanigans ends up reaching the wrong ears in the wrong light, we can ask Belegar to allow us to continue our research and not listen to the witch hunters/Magister Grey/weird eastern dragon saying we need to be put down.

Perhaps even defend us from the imperial army showing up to stop the second coming of Nagash, since it won't put his forces in to much danger to give us authorization to kill them with a mountain.

You know, now that Grombridal is here, we should use this opportunity to get him to endorse more extreme tactics and technology, that way we can push the envelope of "The ancestors did X, so X+1 should be ok"
Get him a sword, a gun, a dagger, all kinds of armor, some We-silk, etc.

'Hey Belegar, fight the Empire for me' is kind of out there. Let's just not get caught, instead.

we have a really good excuse for the tongs now.

We saw the eshin sorcerer do it.
For the Nth time: nobody disputes that you can use a Wind to manipulate Dhar. That's what Necromancy is with Shyish and that's what the Eshin sorcerer did with Ulgu. The thing a lot of people are skeptical of is if that works when you use a Wind to manipulate another pure Wind.

We don't know he's here though, and he may have revealed himself in the grand battle while we were underground, which may mean he's once again gone.

He used ulgu to gater the other seven winds and make dhar out of them without the ulgu joining the dhar.

that heavily implies that a technique to manipulate one wind with ulgu without either interacting with eachother is possible.
