Try to figure out if the Elves use the same Apparition-based spells that the Colleges do, and find out what the Elven perspective on that sort of thing is.
[X] Druchii Diplomats
Check in on these unexpected visitors to Tor Lithanel.
[X] Reading on Nehekhara
You recently acquired a great many Dwarven books on Nehekhara, including ones written in the direct aftermath of the Great Ritual by Dwarves who had known the Nehekharans when they still lived. It's unlikely your official duties will ever require you to delve too deeply into the topic, so the only way to indulge your curiosity is to dedicate some of your leisure time to the task.

[X] Skull River Ambush
Look into the investigation of the mining of the Skull River, and any consequences of it.

[X] Orb Reveal (NEW-ish)
The Orbs are made, the books are written, the time is right. You'll show them. You'll show them all.
[X] Silk (NEW)
At long, long, long last, Francesco has finally figured out how to weave the We-silk into something that can be worn. Be there for its debuts into the various markets it is destined to disrupt, and make sure that one of the first pieces off the loom - or whatever it is they use - will be your silk sheets.
[X] Karak Vlag books (NEW)
You have recently come into possession of a significant amount of books once owned by the magic users of the Fire Spire and heavily annotated by the Runesmiths Guild of Karak Vlag, two organizations that are now completely destroyed. The amount of lost lore they might contain makes your fingers itch. Set some time aside to read through these tragic remnants from an excised chapter in history.

My thoughts on what our current end goals for the Waystone Project should be are:
  1. Make sure every contributing member of the project has tributaries and Waystones deployed in their territory.
  2. Develop alternate Waystone designs for when we don't need the absolute best-of-the-best.
  3. Sell Waystones (not necessarily literally) to Bretonnia and other nations who didn't join in the project, but are anti-chaos.
Which still leaves a fair amount of work left to do, although the end is in sight.

I really want to get that budding collaboration with the Drucchi to get sweet military information on their rivals.

P.S. : We'll show them all indeed. Muhahahaha. Well, the ones with the clearance to be made aware of our book and the orbs. I wonder the size of our audience? Any magister? Lord Magisters only? Patriarchs or Matriarchs only? A select and vetted diverse few?

Out of everything, Swordplay (Test your novel swordfighting style against the swordsmen of Tor Lithanel) is the thing that stands out as something worth dropping one of the (New) actions for. The Druchii, we can use a turn action on that and have to if we want to actually do any trading for knowledge - but swordplay? That tells Mathilde where her swording stands before she goes to ulthuan.

Granted, I'm sure she'll get sparring practice up there too. I'm still mostly in favor of just sticking to the Big 5. But if I did drop one, it'd be for that.

So many cool options, so few to choose! I guess a downside with being a Mathilde level Important Person is that there's so many interesting stuff you could do and only so much hours in a day. In the end I'll go with:

[X] Orb Reveal
[X] Silk

Because we've been waiting for this a long, long time, and I absolutely don't want to miss it. Especially the Gigaflex, I can't wait to see Algard's and Dragomas' faces. And headpats, lots of headpats.

[X] Lord Seilph, the Mystic

Because it's not every day you get to chat with a Grey Lord (well, for Mathilde it kinda is, but not outside of work business), or when you get to chat about questionable magic with anyone in general. Both at once is a really unique opportunity.

[X] Pan's Treehouse

Because Panoramia.

[X] Karak Vlag books

Because B Ö Ö K, and also lots of magical lore. Fire Spire books are always juicy, but potential Runesmith perspectives on Wind Magic on top of that? Or, even, on how to wield Wind Magic? Truly fascinating.

Honorable mention to: the Nehekhara books, only slightly less interesting than the Vlag ones; Sarvoi, because I'd love talking about Apparitions with our favorite magic nerd Elf; the Druchii, to fuck over Karond Kar; and the Skull River Ambush because it's been so long already and I still want to know What The Hell Was All That About and whether the Slaaneshi Cult in Marienburg really was involved.
