Mathilde is more cautious than the thread usually is, so I really doubt we will casually go up to Seilph and start telling him about our massive book without a first date at least. We're testing the waters, here.

Thanks to Mathymancer for clarity on the Karak Vlag languages question - that's reassuring enough to throw a vote in that direction. That said, I'm also convinced by the argument for checking on the Skull River. Swordplay, meanwhile, is voted for with an eye towards Nagarythe - I'm sure there'll be plenty of fighting to do beforehand but getting some practice and identifying strengths and weaknesses against elven combatants specifically might prove very handy...
