I really don't see them being of help for the Waystone project; not more than any other method of buffing Mathilde's combat ability in general.

Their ability to come back and forth from aether without opening portals is interesting actually. If we were to figure it out we might use it to push excess magic to it like Vortex writ small.

Granted it is a very long shot that works like that but still an idea.

That ability might be a Thorned One only ability rather than an apparition one.
 
If we're going apparitions, I still favour the handmaiden approach, rather than the red rider. Feels like the monster in the mist idea fits much better with ulgu's mindset than a spooky horseman, and so would probably be an easier spell to make.

Spooky Horseman fits Mathilde. The first thing she was known for was her spooky horsing about, and there's spooky horseman charms based on her. She clearly needs a spooky horseman posse.

While I get the impulse I do not think we really need top do this. I mean take a look at Panorania, a woman who has been acting as a magister, in peace and in war. Does she really need the help?

By all means we should spend a social action to congratulate her after she takes the test, but she does not need the help IMO

Mirros are for Thorned One and I am pretty sure Handmaid comes by the doors and others probably have other ways.

She doesn't have time to prepare for the exams so option is about helping up to free her time. It might be by time planing or it might be by taking over some responsibility from her or by being at hand in case some distraction but clearly she does need help. It might be she won't need it later on as fields stabilise so there is that.

Does she now? Is she busy? Because e have just had a talk about how her work is getting less active and more reactive, easier as it winds down.

We have to start with one and every extra will need another AP.

Won't be sure until options drops with next update but I expect it will take a couple of turns until she has free time. Especially since she is in no hurry.

Mathilde the Workaholic with an unending backlog, and a newly founded institute to manage and staff... taking over some responsibilities from Panoramia, who has at best 3 things to do, and spends a quarter of the year lazing about.

Something does not compute here :V

I don't see the issue.
It is perfectly in character, both for Mathilde and the thread.

Mathilde noted that Panoramia wasn't being exactly truthful about her lazing around in Winter. She's just less physically active and more mentally focused.

Also sometimes I think people underestimate the sheer scale of the project Panoramia is involved in. Feeding several tens of thousands of people from soil that was fairly damaged and neglected isn't that easy.

There's this quest mechanic called 'AP'. :)

Still, I agree that Dusk Riders are strongly branded, plus I think they'd also be easier to distance from any thoughts others may have of Apparitions.
We're the Rider of Dusk, we ride around on roads of mist smiting evil, so naturally we made a spell of misty-shadowy warriors that smite evil on our behalf.

The real surprise for people will be when we don't call them Mathildes' Magnificent Mounties or something to undercut their nature.

Yeah, we had periodic arguments about how, easy, it is to feed a nation.

But if she is in no hurry why should we be in any hurry to take from Mathilde's time to make up for her procrastinating? You cannot really have it both ways, either she is too busy to do this thing she is years late in doing, or she does not really care about the title and is willing to take years wrapping up a project. Mathilde by comparison took six months.
