Wrong Elf mate.

Hultressa is the Sorceress. Gwendolyn is her tween daughter.
huh? why did I thouth of Gwen, here?
thanks for the catch
Mate, Gwen and Eldyra will have one whacky relationship. Tyrion will not approve.

I remember it being mentioned she was being shipped off to a brothel same for most of the White wings
It seems to be an option after the auction, it would appear current Ark master wants her's prizes close

Speaking off. there is a chance that rescue will be easier after the auction if the ones 'purchasing' our allies are easy to break into.
funny note. easiest way of rescuing Kerillan would be with Jhoanna, but she would not be likely to convince her.

What a fine chapter.

Went well, perhaps could have gone better but for sure could have went worse. Thank you RNGesus for the rolls.

I want Tyrion to choke on not being the one to save Eldrya, even if that is a rather dumb and crude want.

This is probably what you're thinking of.

"The Handmaiden is beyond us, for now, but if we were to attempt to rescue some of the auction's prizes," she trails off, thoughts now turning once again. "Your sailors are more numerous, but less valuable. The Bretonnians…," she pauses and looks back at you. "Are slated either for sacrifices to the Cult of Khaine, the brothels, or the arenas for however long they may live. I am unsure as to what the fate of the Asrai may be. She is not a mage, correct?"

But I believe she's saying that's where they will likely go after the auction, with the various options bidding to see who gets them.

Correct. If the auction were to go off without a hitch, Sadrina is no doubt only going to go to the most powerful or wealthiest nobles or military commanders for absolutely depraved monstrous things. The Whitewings are likely to go to brothels or the Cult of Khaine or the Arenas for entertainment - what kind depending on where they end up going. She couldn't be certain what would happen with Kerillian, who would want her most/more.

You know Elydra story would be something kinda fitting on the canon Tyrion storyline where consist of the guy losing everything until he snaps. Losing a daughter because he as away for his duties around the kinda depresion it's reserved for him.

But suddenly MONKE, ALCOHOL MONKE!

I h8 dis lady so darn much.

hope she snags her long ears on clippers when she gets haircuts.

Luckily, about that whole "without a hitch" thing, we've got that covered.

And probably a half a dozen other dark elves with their own schemes looking to shank Alyssa and take her cred LOL

Yeah, I think what Freddy just showed off was something really scary to the two Dark Elfs watching.

A being who had Mastered their Inner Khaine, instead of being Mastered by it. The violence is there, but it can be used to heal and protect rather than simply destroy destroy destroy.

Literally gave someone therapy and closure by letting them vicariously get vengeance on an already dead tormentor. Amazing.
A fittingly dark mirror to how Freddy handled Gwen. The bad girl needed love, the good girl needed catharsis.

Elydra, despite our words, might force herself to take part in the raid on the temple of Khaine since she might see it as her duty to rescue a Handmaiden of the Everqueen no matter what, once she is read up on everything that happened.

I imagine she will be quite astonished that Freddy and company beat back the dark elves on their own, even stealing one of their Arks, but then feel guilty that the only reason why they are on the Ark in the first place is because of her.

Lots of mixed emotions all told.

AND NOW FREDDY HAS LEVELS IN BARD. DEAR GOD.
Double major. Swords and Eloquence, the ultrachad that he is.

This probably will become a popular story in Asur culture. The Monke incident.

Part a epic saga, part a hilarious comedy and part a cautionary tale to not look so down on humans.

I just realized that Freddy's method of therapy for Eldyra in simulating his killing of Dreadbringer is basically a Gamemaster telling a player she rolled a couple of Nat 20s and brought down a raid boss. :V

"He is burning his very existence, his very soul, making himself a pyre for his God, to become the Bloody-Hand of his God and it is NOT ENOUGH!" You roar. "Not enough to stop you from flaying the flayer, to scalp the scalper, to do unto him as he has done unto too many others! From carving his pathetic, twisted, wrinkled, weaselly face from his head, and not enough to stop you from taking your Runefang and dragging it back through his spine and past his throat to sever head from body!"

Mmm.

The whole segment and throwback to Frederick killing Dreadbringer like the bitch he was feels like a nice glass of whiskey, sitting on your favorite chair, at the end of a long day. Exquisite. I can feel my day get better with every word. Fucking amazing writing, Torroar.

Less Nat 20 and more lost our last remaining fate point.
Hey, hey, hey. I will reiterate that we killed Dreadbringer fair and square, even while he was begging his sugar daddy Khaine for help.

No. We lost the Fate Point after we got ganked by Alyssa and her squad, of which Hultressa, who is based, was a part. The sorceress squad who outnumbered us basically shot magic at our exhausted hero squad and threw daemons at us. We got got.

Who could have known that the Druchii might have outnumbered us, in their main Tor and place of power?

As perhaps just out of the corner of your eye, in the very edges of your peripheral vision, you see the faintest flare of glow and light from the runes of the Runefang.

A second scream of all things comes from a much younger elven throat, for some reason, but you're still mostly focused on Eldyra as she sucks in breath like a forge's bellows buried against you.

Then there is a sob from your chest, a shuddering, choking thing, which accompanies a slow but steady release in the crushing of Eldyra's arms against you.

This to me, speaks of something more than just being poignant which it most definitely is. He spoke eltharin, a deeply mystical language and envoked the bloody handed one. In an area saturated with magic and dhar. Two souls, one claimed by Khaine by birth and right, the other by having his name carved into her very being, a sweet sacrifice. Both should be his instruments in this world, yet this mortal who once rejected you, rejected your gift try's to get them to deny you!?! Then he invokes you by name, and one innmumerable slivers of your attention peers down. He is surrounded by your servants speaking a tongue that echoes to you. An opening, your sacrifice has him dead to rights, his death will seal your name into her and send him into your clutches. Khiane empowers his servant, yet the remnants of her struggle, he speaks to her, lets her slay the one who carved his name into her soul. Frederick offers himself as a willing sacrifice and still the soul struggles. She and another break free....

This speaks to some kind of counter ritual to me. Sigmar and Gazul have touched him. Khaine tried to mark him before and now he has the denier in his grasp with the touch of other divinities on him. A tempting prize and yet he denies him still, and lends that denial to an elven soul that had his name carved into her being. Like a conceptual turf war that denial and stubborness pushed back the darkness of Khaine, lessened his influence on the elven soul as one who was offered to him as a sacrifice slays the one who offered her. In that moment another one, a child struggles free borrowing the word's of a brutish language and nails your failed servant to you. "he's dead." carved into Khianes metaphysical echo, a powerful wound...

A bit poetic but what's life without whismy?

I like the reminder that for all that Freddy is an absolute murder machine he's really good at helping people move through their personal trauma and hang ups and in this case he gets how something like this can mess with someone so he was able to given Eldrya and the talk and means to process things that she really needed. Tyrion is going to be so grateful to Freddy for this.

Being a murder machine never worked out for him. All his victories, everything worth remembering, was him being the one insane bastard who put himself out there because someone needed a friend. Its a world where everyone has their own problems and cruel pragmatism and selfishness are the best you can expect, the alternative being lashing out in the name of spite and trying to carve back your pound of flesh. Fred is the almighty idiot, the man who bleeds his body and coffers dry just for the sake of someone else's happily ever after.

Even when he is marching to war, ever since he recovered from his own bad old days during the vampire bullshit, he is helping people through their trauma. Sometimes as a person, sometimes as a people. Doesn't matter which.

There are lots of people ready to kill and die. There aren't many willing to do other for the smile of a friend that hasn't been made yet.

So for thousands of years the elves he affected will remember that "Defiant Noble Souled Ally of Hope" was human. I can't imagine the ripple effect, it's not like these are inconsequential elven peasants he's interacting with.
