Nobody voted for that option yet. Heck, it's not even a vote. So please chill, you're not doing your position any favor by acting and reacting like this.
we could refuse kneehalling.... and insist on shark fight as it said in update....

[] Refuse the Keelhauling: Perhaps if you give them a rather significant amount of ships, or perhaps maybe you could renegotiate with Natasha about the shark dive...? (Write-In)
Literally next post is to go even more overboard and stright in to the deep end. I literally don't need to argue.

The point of the greatships are to protect people.
Better to give them to Maghda here and have her help keep people safe, while also incidentally giving her more influence in the Cult so that she can help us fight the real assholes around who we want to pay for all the shit they're trying.
You are, literally reiterating an attitude that that specific post was against?
What was the point of your response?

But the three aren't using the cult to come after us. They're using their own trade routes/resources. If they were actively using the priesthood to come after us Maghda would've already come down on them like a sack of bricks.
Maghda stight up said somebody on her cult connected to Robber barons was asking money to gut our treasury. She just doesn't know that connection.

A situation all people generally try to maintain, cause as shown even just them being dissapproving can completely knacker anyone with a coastline.

I want to fight a shark, burn its body on the Druchhi ships, mount one's head on a Great ship then get Keerhauled!

For good measure.
manaan would send triton to tell us good job if we did that!

I think it was pretty clear I was joking

Okay, to those people who are talking about greatships and marienburg making copies...

Do you think Marienburg is somehow incapable of making greatships? Do you think with all their knowledge of ships if they consider it worth it they can't design their own and build them?

Currently on 4066
Given that Ostland's Navy is the only one to have Greatships thanks to inventing them, unless we decide to give some to the Cult of Manann, yes. Marienburg indeed cannot build Greatships as of now

I would say, take the worst knerhauling option, I will never normally do it, but that is what FP are for.

I mean, it's an interesting point. On the one hand, it'd be nice to save the fate point, but on the other, Frederick is 55. At some point, given the life he lives, his number is going to come up and it won't be that far in the future.

Might not be a bad idea to wring some truly enormous favour out of ol' spiky McBadtempered.

Warhammer is game of land battles. It makes you forget it has a sea life too. And given the average of gods in a world like Warhammer... Is it that surprising sea gods are temperamental assholes when Real Life sea gods were very much considered to have the same kind of temper?
Its also easy to forget that off the coastline, the seas are effectively the domain of the evil factions. There's a reason the Old World needs a powerful sea god, the seas are for the most part not friendly in the least.

Again, that's the specific subset of the Cult that she feels is overly fond of the monetary side of things. Whilst their might be a bit of overlap, they're still separate from the nobles we're in a Trade War with.
And if that's the minimum I'll take it.

Priest's provide legitimacy I don't want them framing this as some kind of holy trade war with the tacit approval of the priests.

But as
Maghda stight up said somebody on her cult connected to Robber barons was asking money to gut our treasury. She just doesn't know that connection.
Ninja.

Eh, depends what you mean. I imagine they can build ships that are bigger, see the temple ships, however ones that mount cannon maybe not.

However I want that tech proliferating, we need more cannon!

So maybe i'm dumb but if we give all five of the greatship to the cult could we ask the cult to help defend our coast while we rebuilt ?

Think of the donating of Greatships as advertising and it doesn't hurt as much...I promise.

Triton's Fury is such a awesome name, can't wait till it cuts us apart as Freddy screams in agony. But our income should recover and a large amount of our people won't lose their livelihoods.

"On occasion, the sinner might well drown, bleed to death from their multitude of cuts, or be torn to shreds by creatures attracted by the blood spilled into the water," she pauses and studies your expression. "There are no sharks in Marienburg's waters," she adds as an afterthought. "We do not countenance Stromfel's ilk here, not in Manann's city
"First, she asks after the healing capabilities of the Light of Summer," she raises a finger, "Second, she asks after Adira, if not by name," she raises the middle finger. "And then she specifically mentions that the most fatal and dangerous aspects of keelhauling is the presence of sharks…and that there aren't any in the waters around Marienburg."
Sorry to point this out, but the sharks tended to be the least concern to anyone who got kneehauled... The real danger here is to be gutted, decapitated, flayed or dismembered by the barnacles, or to drown... Hell the chances of survive an actual kneehauling are so low that they were straight up considered as an execution in most Navys, so I would never, ever vote for it even with the light of summer and the Jade wizard.

BUT we have a FP to burn here that would ensure Frederick, so I say that if we take the biggest one and get it over it.

Dazh is the god of the sun, ask him how important he is.
Read my post, that's how.
Extremely if there is no sun for half the year and it is one of the only sources of warmth available, which you need to live!

You know like in Kislev.

In the same way when your lively hood (and life) depends on the fickle ocean, the god of the sea is really fucking important!

I dont like 2 things about what the matriarch said:
1 that she distrust the witch hunters, who fight and keep the empire safe from things that she cannot even dream of,so much that she is accusing them of deliberately attacking innocent without any reason.Yes they kill innocents to,but is better to kill some innocents then let the horrors free in the empire. And lets not forget that before the college of magics, any human with even the slightes talent at magic was a potential conduit for the chaos goods.
Plus the things with other faits.
This is more bias agaisnt other faits then anything else.
2The fact that she believes that the holders of the shore could organise something like this on theier own, without outside help, expecially with the semi independent nature of the cult.
Also the fact that she try to excuse the cult instead of admiting that yes, they fu..ed up in a major way.

I just feel ambushed, by this massive hydra that is this cult when i thought it a common gecko.
In response to this, I think its important to state how a WHF wiki dive should have given you a good idea since its unfair to put that all on GM all the time. Not to mention he has made it a point to make little informational posts and later include them in updates themselves of how important the premiere sea god of the Old World's cult is important for everything involved in watercraft in general which naturally includes trade.

I don't feel ambushed about it personally, and we knew our earlier action would have pushback either way. All things told we are getting off easy since its Matriarch deciding things and not a High Priest connected to a Merchant House we know hates us.

And again, no vote happened yet. And plans not involving these options already exist. So please wait for the actual voting before complaining.
Excuse me. Yes no vote is happening because mortairum is for the arguing your position. You are just trying to silence me like this because you don't like my position. In fact Why don't you take your advice and wait until vote to complain about me?

You do realise they are utter blood thirsty monsters right? Like they are barely better than the people they hunt and we've had a direct look into the life of one to confirm it.

There is a reason that someone who has never been on land in her entire life knows about how terrible they are, and the "some innocents" is a vast majority of the people they burn fucking alive! Do you have any idea how awful a fate that is? Its just cruel.

And yeah no more bullshit the empire is the exception.

Everywhere else had its own magic traditions figured out literally thousands of years before the empire in no small part because of the fucking witch hunters.

Fair. For my part, two strikes a nice balance of genuine sacrifice, but not hurting our anti-black ark capability. That said, I agree it doesn't feel quite enough, hence five future ships.
Feel like 5 future ships will make everyone unhappy. Sure the Cult gets more ships but it won't be as satisfying for them since Freddy isn't sacrificing what he currently has and promising future ships is equivalent to just paying partial weregild. Maghda and the larger Cult wants an element of sacrifice involved that would induce remorse.
