I think you should delay for as long as you can. Sweet science might yet provide a way to reverse the effects of the Biophage. A cure is not impossible, we are already closing in on a vaccine and can have McCoy on the case fron now on.

I think we have to go in immediately, TBH. The longer we wait, the more chance we give for the Biophage to scatter itself throughout the galaxy and become a never-ending worry. Sure we can probably develop something that'd make us totally immune to it, but that won't be useful to the bird-people of Birdtopia who're located on the other side of the galaxy. I also agree with the thinking that we may need to bring the Klingons in on this, however, I'm not sure if they're properly set up to deal with the Biophage.

I wish we had the option to demand meatshields politely request if they want in on a glorious battle. They owe us for Tregh'bak. We fought for them with no thought for ourselves. Hell shame them by implying that Romulans are willing to fight when they wont or something, I don't care, just get more bodies/hulls.

I would also like to invite the Kingons to our war, both because it's the friendly thing to do with Klingons and because it'd be legitimately helpful to us.

It's probably true that a cure is possible, but it's gated behind Vaccine 2 at the least.

They have heard nothing from Kadesh in over a month ... after warnings went out of an invasion by horrible biomechanical warships.
... something that strikes me: the biophage didn't have Kadesh broadcasting that 'all's well, the invaders are repulsed' or some similar deception, unlike what it did with Dunwich. It's likely that the biophage simply didn't care enough to try to fool the 20,000 people on Galaar III, but it is notable. After all, if the biophage were laying a trap for the Romulan Fleet in Area 2, posing as a planet that's held off the biophage could be a clever deception. (One that, to be fair, might be beyond its capabilities).
I don't know, I'm probably reading too much into this.

I'm nervous about using the Klingons, because I'm rather worried about their dinky little Birds-of-Prey rapidly turning into enemy suicide ships. K'tingas would be helpful, though.

Well, if this turns out to be a semi-peaceful First Contact, we have Blue Kirk on the case.

Ah, yes, I forgot to mention how hilarious it is that T'Lorel kept finding herself in situations where the logical course of action was to fuck shit up.:D

Not really funny lately, though. :(

I think the silence means that they are still fighting.

This is a full on warp capable civilization with the infrastructure and population that that means. And they had warning, this isn't Dunwich sitting there luring us in, this is a world/system that may still be actively fighting, or at the very least the Biophage will still be knocked around from the fight having only recently ended. We will certainly take casualties, but waiting longer may result in higher casualties from a more entrenched opponent.

I highly doubt there will be any survivors on Kadesh. It's a garden world, and the biophage has the ability to take over ships in minutes. There being more people on a planet makes it faster, not slower.

The only thing attacking Kadesh will do is force a desicive battle.

This might be a mistake. But in my mind, so's giving the phage an entire month to fully take over a 500 million-person planet.
Besides, it might be an opportunity to hit the T'Seren with as much firepower as we can concentrate, while she's somewhat down for the count.

... speaking of 'as much firepower as we can concentrate'... obviously, that includes the Klingons if we can bring them on board. But, as @AKuz suggested to me, could it also include a partially-repaired Sarek, a la Yorktown at Midway?

Better some civilization that just recently developed proper FTL than an actually useful one.

Any word on our ability to get the Klingons to help, @OneirosTheWriter ?

Or even to just tell them that this battle is going to happen and let their natural instincts do the rest of the work for us?
>_>

I say that we do it, we need everything out there at once, with a Crew like her's she's still better than a standard Excelsior.
