They've had a long and fulfilling service life. It is now time for them to rest in peace.

I just hope we can make it through the end of the year when the Endurance is launched. Three turns... luck be a lady and hope the Enterprise continues to provide miracles.

EDIT: Incidentally @OneirosTheWriter it doesn't seem to be a factor in any decisions, but did you ever decide what the br/sr return is on scrapping?

The only Soyuz with a right to exist right now is the Bozeman, off to the breakers with the rest.

Wait a minute! How long does it take for scraping to happen? If it's instant (or at least completes before Q4) we don't (technically) need to request resources for the Excelsior, the Soyuz scrapping should cover costs for us!
 
Hey, I haven't been reading the thread very thoroughly, but while there's lots of ship based planning...

Is/are there any plans based around researching Starbases / custom Starbase building? I haven't really seen anyway, but it seems like a good way to handle part of the defenses when we keep adding in new races or the Defense Requirements for sectors go up without tieing up too many of our ships defending.

And if we can get them up high enough they can help speed up repairs without us taking up dock space.

Like is this a good idea to work towards with a research team or two?
 
Or enough rp to activate one in addition to all the other stuff if we did.

No, we still need to. You need to think not just about this year, but the next one as well. If we don't request an Excelsior's worth of resources, we'll end up scraping the bottom of the barrel for next year's build and one ship repair could easily render us unable to start the 2308Q1 builds.

15*4, or 60 bulk resources gained, plus 630 initial, giving 690. Spending 230+((80+15)*4), or 610, so 80 to spare

Did I miss something? Otherwise, the resource request in Q2 needs to happen.

We don't have a team for starbase development.
And we don't have the spare pp atm to request one

Well, IIRC that'd just reduce how many points we'd get from any team working on it. (Although considering how high the requirements are that'd make putting someone there rather pointless...)

For example if we dragged off three of the teams working on different parts, say Resources, Shields, Xeno we'd have about 1d10 and maybe we can get another team spec'd for it bringing us up to 1d16? We'd hopefully within 3~ years get a +1 across the board to stations, and hopefully in the next year or two we can get enough income RP to use all of our teams + get back to acquiring more.


At least, I don't think outposts/starbases become obsolete or need refitting like ships do? And it provides more of a boost than the equivalent 40 points of -1 or -2% from things.
