Starfleet Design Bureau

Project name is basically "shark," and I see little wrong with sticking with that.

[X] Forward Deflector (Industry 2 -> 24) [2 Torpedo Tubes] [1 Cannon + 3 Optional]

I personally like Pirahna.

Honestly though, it's shockingly good for the price we're getting out of it. Superior to a Stingray in virtually every respect for a very tiny hike in price. Not so great a hike that it reduces our output.

I'd feel like one of these might not be a match for a Warbird in 1v1, but they'd always win a 2v1 instead of just being able to hold their ground. High manueverability and a scary alpha strike means a lot, and we got most of the kinks bashed out of our next gen cannons and torpedoes with the Thunderchild.

No, Firefly is what we should have named our cargo ship insead of something as grand as Zheng He.

Anyway, I propose Swordfish to go with the psudo-Royal Navy theme.
Swordfish torpedo bombers are cool... They were also wood and canvas biplanes being used in serious combat in WW2, with all the problems that implies. I'm not sure if that is the greatest thing or the worst thing...

I'm leaning towards avian names for our new light cruiser class, to compare and contrast with the warbirds.

Hummingbird, That way when Kilngon intelligence looks into the ship an anthropologist will tell them that Hummingbirds were associated with warriors in an ancient human culture.

Remora class

Better yet, Call it the Sherman.

It may not be the best, but it works, and we can build more than you can!
:How Dare You:

The Sherman was the best tank of World War 2. The were the most reliable, they had a 75mm gun, a heavily sloped glacis, they were one of (if not the) most easily maintained and repaired tank of the war and easily a match for the PzIV. IIRC they were also the safest of any job that routinely got shot at. About the only time they really struggled was in Bocage country and any tank would have struggled in that terrain.
