On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

Silverwood. We use for everything but we don't actually know what it does. That's shoddy, and risks sloppy work if we use it for something nirmal wotroth is good at, but the subspecies is bad at.

Slightly concerned that we didn't learn anything about Fjolla during the update, I'll just assume she's ahead of us for now.

[ ] [Simple] Warded Aeries: [Cost: (2 -1) =1 actions] Productivity Like No Other will proc. The Griffons of the Skarrenraz Ankor suffered terribly defending the skies of your hold. The decade-long siege has seen many an oath of friendship sworn between your folk and theirs. An entire generation of "Clutchlings'' as they are called, has been raised alongside your own youth safely within the halls of the Karak. Their nests are high above the world, but they are ill-suited to protecting them from that which can fly as well. Rectify this, at least for the roost in Kraka Drakk, and aid in Otrek's work to repay these odd but dependable allies. Morgrim Himself has given the blueprints for the final structure, and His followers have completed the structure in its entirety. But the Runes to be used, you are told, were left purposefully blank by Morgrim. His words something akin to, "Let Thungni's scions decide if it's worth their time," you are told.
...I really want to do something like "3/4 actions and use of T3 and lower available materials at the GM's discretion"

I really want to know what voidstone actually is. we have a very limeted supply untill we figure out what it actually is and how it forms

I'm thinking two on Aeries, one on prod, one action + all prods on a research.

As for what to take with us, a piece of Adamant and a Voidstone are obvious picks. Some of the other materials we discovered might also be interesting to take along.

"Take yer time! Gives me time to hang about the grandchildren, regale them with stories about my valorous exploits!" Jorri replies with a chuckle.

"For their sake, I'll make it a rush job," you reply.
Ah brothers.

We'll have four actions next turn due to the Conclave and what I want to do is hunt for apprentices, take the request, exchange more info with Yorri for more prods and do some Secrets of Light research with him to open up that chain and finish the progress we got.

Then the turn after that I want to study the Dragon Ogres, finish that, and start combo testing for the King's armor.
So I'm going off this, there's no particular reason to deviate from that in my mind. I'll also offer some alternative plans.

[] Plan Conclave of Light With Apprentices
-[] Boon from the Sky: [Cost: Start Request, [Difficult] Plated Skies Pt. 1:] A bundle of his crest feathers. In exchange, he expects a suit of armour.
-[] Apprentice Hunt: [Cost: 1 Action] Apprentice Vote after Turn Results. 1 Action
-[] Prod for Prod: [Cost: 1 action] Gain x3 Yorri prods. 1 Action.
-[] The Grand Conclave/Rhunkalbrogg: [Cost: 1 action] 1 Action.
--[] Optional Write-in: Your Adamant bar and a furnace.
-[] [Simple] Vent Venting Pt. ?: [Cost: 2 actions] Productivity Like No Other will proc.
--[] Religious Donation: Gain 2 progress. if taken no action input required, but can add actions to overflow if desired. Lose rights to the land itself, Temple of Valaya will pay and provide material.
-[] [Simple] Cave Clearing Pt. 1: [Cost: 3 actions]
--[] Petition the Hold: [Cost: variable favours] Gain 1 progress per 10 favour, can be taken multiple times to autocompletion. 30 Favor.
-[] The Secrets of Light?: [Cost: (8 -5) =3 actions] Student of the Odd will proc. 1 Action.
--[] Prod Yorri: [Cost: 1 prod] Gain 1d3 +1 progress. 1 Prod.
-[ ] The Movement of Things Pt. 2: [Cost: (8 -3) =5 actions] Student of the Odd will proc. 1 Action.
--[ ] Prod Yorri: [Cost: 1 prod] Gain 1d2+1 progress, can be taken multiple times. 2 Prods.

Question, how many things can we *finish* this turn? Cause I feel like maybe this is a turn to get a lot of the one-off projects done so we can focus on some reasearch and then do some apprentice hunting after the other runelords settle in
All of the simple requests looks like depending on how we do things.

So! The point of this plan is to try and get a lot of stuff done. On the first part it takes the Boon of the Sky for crest feathers from the King of the Skies, so that we can use them in Master Runes of Grimnir in other projects. This sets up studying the Dragon Ogres next turn and poking combos for it, while working on the Aeries on turn 22.

It goes apprentice hunting because well *gestures at apprentice moment in the update*. Along with all the other reasons I mention previously. And also its pretty clear that sometimes on really good rolls Journeymen near our home can do simple requests for us and that's pretty huge.

Prod for prod for more research stuff. Then the Prods and actions are spent to open up the Secrets of Light chain and complete part two of Movement of Things. The cave clearing and Vent venting actions are taken by spending our enormous wads of favor and giving the waters as a temple donation. We'd be loosing whatever special things we can do with the site itself of which I assume there are some but frankly I'm only interested in the water.

Alternative plan number one is more about the Griffons and a variant of this alternate ditches apprentices.

[] Plan Conclave of Air
-[] Boon from the Sky: [Cost: Start Request, [Difficult] Plated Skies Pt. 1:] A bundle of his crest feathers. In exchange, he expects a suit of armour.

That gets all of the simple requests done and over with and opens up turn 22 to finishing Secrets of Light, doing Dragon Ogre research and combo testing. And even if we don't get to play more with Yorri he can still walk away from this with information.

This trades apprentices for getting all of our Simple Requests done and opening up Secrets of Light chain.

I'm thinking of:

[] Plan All in Waking and Apprentice
[] Apprentice Hunt: [Cost: 1 Action] Apprentice Vote after Turn Results.Go out and trawl through the local and regional populace to find a beardling or two worth your time. No stone unturned, no clan unchecked, no record unread, even the Foundling Wards! (1 action)
[] The Grand Conclave/Rhunkalbrogg: [Cost: 1 action] Once a generation the Master Runesmiths, and a few select journeymen, gather together in a grand meeting from across the holds to meet old friends, network, argue and generally talk as much shop as one could expect a Runesmith to. While the location has changed from hold to hold, this year it will be held in Karaz A Karak. You haven't been in a good long time. Not since you became a Runelord actually, but this year's conclave forces your hand. You've been summoned to participate in the naming of the replacement Runelords in the aftermath of the Great Incursion as it is now being called. (1 action)
- [] Optional Write-in: Take a piece of voidstone
[] Prod for Prod: [Cost: 1 action] Gain x3 Yorri prods. Master Yorri is most certainly more learned and experienced than you are, but mayhaps you have something worth his time as well? You've taught a good amount, Adamant included, but there are still a few things Yorri himself is interested in. (2 actions)
[] The Movement of Things Pt. 2: [Cost: (8 -3) =5 actions] Student of the Odd will proc. The Rune of Waking or Animation as some would call it is a rare rune. How Master Yorri knows both the regular and Master Rune could be explained by either a harrowing adventure full of terror, beasties and treasure or by something as mundane as asking a friend, you could never be sure with the man. Yorri's given you a few pointers but something he said nags at you. Why is it that only bipedal golems work for the Master Rune of Waking? (1 action)
- [] Prod Yorri: [Cost 1 prod] Gain 1d2+1 progress, can be taken multiple times. Master Yorri simply chuckles mysteriously at you. (6 prods)

Focusing Yori prods where they can be focussed to rush a research chain, and trying to generate multiple Yori prods.

it's almost always less productive to do things in parallel rather than in series. We shouldn't try to smear ourselves very thinly across multiple projects, I think,we should rush down one. I am assuming we can do Prod for Prod twice here, and that there's a Movement of Things Pt. 3, but I'm pretty confident. On avergae this should either complete Movement of Things Pt. 3, or, if it's a twelve action research, get us within one action of it.

personally i don't want to take a new apprentice yet, i want to do so when we have either done the armour for KOTS or at least when we are done with what combo it will have and teh research into what is going into it

All solid plans with good reasoning behind them too :) will look these over and definitely see which one i like best.

I am also taking suggestions for what to bring to the Conclave. I'm taking the furnace so we have proof of the Master Rune of Snorri Gift Giver in physical evidence. Bringing Adamant bar and a voidstone piece are sensible as well.

I think we should do at least one action for the Aeries since we do owe the Griffins and we just need one action now anyway.

why do you plan to do boon from the sky now and not after we are done with the Dragon Ogre/Kholek research? i feel that taking his breast feathers and then researching instead of the other way round is kinda weird

I feel like we don't need an apprentice yet personally we still have a lot to research and work to be done I say we wait until we're 800 before going for another Apprentice.

The problem is that this very easily turns into never. There'll always be one more thing to do, as we risk keeping discovering things faster than we research them.

We'll always have a lot to research. I'm pretty sure that's the nature of the game, that we'll always have more research than time to do it in..

Just an FYI, its probably easier and just as effective to bring a blueprint (cyphered of course) instead of physically lifting the massive structure of Pure Gromril, that and you can't physically move it, at least very easily.

I mean you can, more power to ya and all that.
