I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Well I'm down for Rune Metal part 2, but I am pretty against picking up yet another commission in the Gazul one. One 12 action simple commission is more than enough for me.
 
I really don't want to take on the Graves commission I just don't want to take on a Simple Armor request that eat up our currently limited action pool so I'll have to pass on it. But as always I'm down to doing research if only to reduce the size of the list!

I would rather not spend this much Kraka Ravsvake favor. We don't know if we can get more easily and for how much longer, not without disrupting Plans to Research. We need ninety favor to learn Eltharin fluently and get an Exceptional Specialty in Alchemy. This spends 120 Favor, leaving 40 favor. We need 50 to learn Eltharin fluently.

It also feels a bit scummy to at least not put a few Retainer actions into it.
 
This is what I'm partial to the cult of Gazul unlike the cult of Valaya is one we have a lot of trouble increasing our standing with so I'd like to take the commissions we can with them plus we should help the colonization wave going out if we can by doing this.
IIRC we already accepted the Valaya commission. So we might want to get our ducks lined up for that.
 
Isha and Valaya have similarities, but they're also very different. Isha is a bit more focused on the agricultural and nature side of things then Valaya, while Valaya is more focused on the home and hearth side of things then Isha.

No, it spends one Retainer action to get the extra 10 Favour, so we'll have exactly enough for both.

It takes 120 Favour for all the book stuff. Favour can take the place of actions, but there's still the regular Favour costs.
The favor should be deducted automatically from the sub-options and as the total only comes out to eight actions we only need to take the +1 action, action eight times taking it 12 times spends extra favor we don't have for extra actions in something that doesn't need extra actions.

Anyway that intial standing of -2 seems pretty indicative on how hard getting an elgi to help us is. And Just how hard stopping the Big Throwdown will be.
 
Think he could take a page from the Zornish and come to us? Another boom in population from another culturally diverse Hold. Only this time less obtuse.
I mean I wouldn't be surprised. Our hold seems to be the go-to place for a new start. It's established enough to have a decent reputation, new enough not to be too entrenched and hard for new arrivals to carve out a niche, and has access to a natural source of Gromil.

Can't really ask for better to be honest, save for being one of the Clans that got in on the ground floor as it were.

Alright! So the only difference between these two is that one takes the Gazul commission and one does not.

Eva made a great suggestion that lets us still get done with a Render Aid thing and a Dreng them thing. I imagine this is mostly just Snorri convincing some traders to send stuff up to him with money and contracts and stuff and it allows the Hearth Guard to be out there doing other things than fetching books for their boss which I'm all for. Chain is being completed as previously discussed, which will get slowly disseminated out to where it will.

Then we go with Jreengus's idea to snap up allllllllllllll the books ahead of time just so we can prepare ahead for Eltharin in five or so turns. As for the Gazul commission I think we should do it especially with the commentary of there being more priests and apprentices than they know what to do with. Seems like Gazul has had a spike in popularity rising in the east in particular, and its always helpful to help out the folks keeping an eye out for Hashut. However I do understand that some people don't want to take it, so I've left a variant that leaves it off that people can adopt.

E: Also ugh these plans are fucking gigantic I'm cutting them down to spare mobile users.

The plan earns back the extra Ravsvake favor through monster hunting so we'd have enough left for learning Eltharin fluently plus we can always just monster hunt for more.

And honestly, I'd rather have the Hearthwardens out doing good for a hold rather than shopping for books you can feel like slaying monsters and making the North safer is scummy but that's just my personal view of things.
