I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

I have two plans here that differ on how to split the actions into rune metal. They both are meant to expand the Hearthguard this turn, and use Kraka Drak favor on every research material available. Note the dronril only has 3 favor instead of the max 4 since it takes 2 actual actions to finish which turns into 3 with our traits. I can change that if needed.

For rune metal, it's better to use the brotherhood favor on the main branch since its a 1d2 rather than one progress for the chain and with the favor we can one turn it and see what more we might need for the main path. With the first plan, favor is distributed so that with decent dice, we one turn the main path and can one turn the first part of chain next turn or the one after.

The second plan one turns the chain this turn and with favorable dice one turning the main branch next turn.

That's an artifact. I realize that at least Bara was..likely forgone and felt OOC for Snorri to not do.
That wasn't clear in the update, at least for me. You could modify the scene or have the vote anyway, players like having agency even if the conclusion is forgone and it's not like there's any risk of us not voting for Bara to join.

It is the raw language of the textbooks whose translation you still find yourself reviewing. If you want as undiluted or marred perception of the original text as possible you must learn this odd tongue. Either from a Dwarf who took the time to learn, or from an Elgi willing to brave the cold to reach you. Valma was asked, she said she wasn't going through explaining that hell again. It's as ominous a sign as any.
Does this mean that Snorri can torment his apprentices even more if he learns Eltharin?

Like pocket gravel, except existential horror over shoddy languages.

I'll be approval voting a plan with these at the least, but while I absolutely want research done I favor waiting a turn to finish one of the Rune Metal options. With 4 actions we can finish either in one turn with enough Brotherhood favor left over to finish the OTHER Rune Metal option in one turn too.

Yeah we can one turn either one this turn and then pivot next turn with 4 actions and finish off 4 material research.

No we can't, unfortunately. It's outright impossible to one turn Part 1b with what we have right now. Though for Part 5, we'd only need a single 2 from 5 d2, so very good odds but we can't oneshot Part 1b with no Brotherhood Favour

Combo, Valaya's Indignance: [Master Rune of Spellspite, Rune of Lightfright, Rune of Lightspite] Spells cast against the user are broken down and the caster is burned and they forget how to cast the spell for a time. The magical energy is stored by the staff, and at the user's command, the energy can be fired back out as bolts of blinding, searing light, or be used to fuel terrible visions that can instill terror.

I'm not inclined to adding more than we take away again. It's tiresome seeing that longass list again and again, and the more we add the less certain people are in actually finishing one.
Before that might have been valid but now we can knock them out in a single action each. We could finish most of them in a single turn. And it's not like not doing Odd places just makes the new materials never exist, they'll show up eventually when we eventually finish odd places.
 
I know that a responsible runelord of the quality of the MC does the stuff they do after thinking a lot and cause a massive impact with each decision.

I still decide to imagine(for my amusement) MC unleashing the guards at the wilds is his wanting to do something while doing something while doing something...you get the idea^^.
and the favor with other runesmith/runelord/leader is forcing a loop of they doing something too. Because when the MC flex his capital other need to flex too to make it done while doing their own obrigations :D

@soulcake I noticed that Yorri's request said it can be done whenever, but we are about to release our Apprentices. Do they still need to be our apprentices to do this option?

We can one turn part b if we burn 3 favor on it which is the second plan. Two dice on the main path is they both roll 2s will allow a one turn there if we put 4 actions as well but that's a bit sketchy. I prefer the first plan myself.

Wait what? Didn't it not say that it could be taken multiple times before? We were talking about it earlier when Brain storming how to get it done and if we could before the Valaya request.
 
So, with that heart breaking research catologue I think it important now more than ever to finish off "odd places" just so we can add one last thing to the list to save ourselves some future heartbreak, and then we can go nuts on research. We have had that backlog of minor things building for what feels like the whole quest and I for one want to be as productive and efficient as possible when we finally tackle it.
Take the Yorri request, finish odd places, get those extra prods, and then start tackling our research like a dwarf long beard in a gromril mine.
 
With the use of favors to reduce odd place materials down to one action I see no real reason that finishing off odd places this turn is a bad choice. Mostly I like it that these little adventures with odd places involve the apprentices, and this is the last turn to do that for a while potentially.
