On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

You have 2 Points converted from existing Favour at the ratio of 1 point = 10 Favour, and 0/2 Hesitance which is indicative of what Snorri personally feels like may be a bit too much for Lorna to chew. Note, Snorri won't rebel against your actions, everything here is the upper most limit of what he's willing to give IC. That said, you obviously cannot go over the Hesitance limit, and there are narrative consequences to hitting that limit as well.
Is it only 2/2 Hesitance that has narrative consequences or is it also 1/2?

That vision... I don't think that the figure that burned away the strings was Gazul. The figure was one of the puppet masters, then they began destroying the strings that was controlling the lives of mortals. That... doesn't sound like Gazul to me.

Those figures sound like Warp Gods, but Gazul is a Dwarf Ancestor God. Sure, the Ancestor Gods have a presence in the Immaterium, but they are more linked to the Materium Plane. Is there any other character in WRF lore that figure could be?

I think something that symbolised the relationship between Kraka Drakk and Ravnsvake would be better.
Yup, but I don't know enough about Ravnsvake to make a good suggestion there. If we can get the rune of fate out of our vision and the rune of perception out of this trade how about a talisman with Fate+Perception+Grimnir to let him perceive the flow and futures of a battle and know how best to intervene to change it. Alternatively Grungni instead of Grimnir could do the same for general leadership.

Not exactly, the figure who severed the strings of fate was one of the puppets. He destroyed his own strings first.

But I don't disagree it might not be Gazul given he "crumpled to the ground", on the other hand that might not be proof of it being someone else, it could have just indicated that in the beginning he did so until he didn't have the energy to continue the spree, way back when he was younger. And the figure was "clothed in black", that sounds like Gazul.

Still, it could be Aenarion, who fought with a blade and was infused with power via stepping into the fires of Asuryan, and was brought low at the end.

Or Valaya for the Hearth aspect. My loyalty discernment tool idea

@soulcake my apologies if this has been asked before, but should we consider the negative hesitation as a way to reduce the feelings Snorri might encounter due to trust? Or should we see it as a way of hesitation on the part of our colleague, thereby reducing the relative difference in hesitation between parties?

Sorry that was worded awfully, but it is what it is for now.

I awaken.
I'm surprised both Runesmith branches at 8 does nothing. Oh well.

Should do that Gimli thing however, cough up a 1 Action Pure Gromril item and get out of Hold favor.
These contacts aren't monoliths, not like the others at least, so there really isn't a way to get a bonus from them. It's just a way of showing where you stand with the wider community of Runesmiths, as it has always been.
Since we're at Standing 9 for it, and it's a place rather than a Runelord, does that mean it should have a Standing 7 bonus like the other Karaks do?
Not every place has the resources or prestige to have a reward at such tiers. Note that Karak Ungor's bonus is a straight-up turn reduction for mats while the same standing for the other Karak's is only a chance at such.

Basically, the more wealthy and well established the Contact, obviously the better their rewards will be from the get-go. The trade-off is, of course, the difficulty of getting their attention and Favour compared to a smaller Contact so to speak.

Is it only 2/2 Hesitance that has narrative consequences or is it also 1/2?
2 of 2 is the big one you have to consider.

Negative hesitation is Snorri basically going "Okay, this person has shown they have some proof of skill and I am therefore more likely/willing to trade the good stuff with them."

EDIT: a word.

Guys...can someone remind me again how many turns it would take before those damn stupid Toads rearrange the shit out of our lands again? And how many turns we have until the potential War of the Beard happens?

I have forgotten about this quest's timeline and I would like to know if we have enough time to prepare for the wrecking of our rock-hard butt cheeks later.

A few hundred for each. I recommend not worrying about it. Please. Seriously, please. It's largely beyond our control or something that will be for the far future.

well, the First Great Incursion has been pushed back at the moment, but Aenarion is still the king of the Elves at the moment. Malekith is still loyal, Morathi is still a scheming bitch, and not all of the Ancestor's have disappeared yet. So we have until the Ancestor's all depart to worry about the Elves being Elves

Current date is 222 A.P.
The War of Vegenance kicks off in 2326 and the Time of Woes happens in 3023.

Considering each turn is ~10 years, we have time.

No, Aenarion is very dead/gone.

In canon the War of the Beard started in 2326 A.P., which is 2104 years away, or 210 or so turns. The Slann rearranged the continents in 3023 A.P., which is 2801 years away, or 280 turns.

The chance of Snorri being able to stop the Slann is slim to none.

Thats only 210 turns to prepare! We aren't going to be even halfway through the research queue by then!

IIRC the slann didn't re-arrange the mountains in the far north though right? So we can't stop them but we can build up the far north to be an unbroken bulwark that can then aid the south.

You've got it wrong, the early chaos incursions we know about are done. The next major event we know about from warhammer canon is the war of the beard.

Gotta say, I am very tempted by those new commissions. The Valkyries and Yorri's in particular, but even the wedding gift would be cool.

Also, is it time to expand the size of the Hearth Guard? Because I see a lot of cool specialties in the recruitment pool now we didn't have before. Monster Hunters, The Order of the Watchers.

And apparently our armour and hammer have set lips a-wagging.
