Could we maybe confront either Sakura or Akiko face-to-face so they can't evade our questions by just ignoring our telepathy talk and needle them until they tell us what their damn problems really are? Sakura almost spilled it once, before she stopped her self by cursing.
Or deal with Fukushima directly by inviting ourselves to their meeting?
Akiko doesn't seem to want to talk to us or is unable to do so at the moment, so the negotiations are on hold right now anyway, since the Sendai girls are all loyal to Akiko and don't want to make deals behind her back.

Don't really have time to vote. Akiko pretty much said she wants the war. After that, I think there's very little else to talk about. A peace agreement between Sendai and the UG is looking hilariously unlikely.

What she wants, to our best guess, is revenge for what she believes the Ishinomaki group did to Kato Setsuko.

And I seriously believe that whatever did happen to Kato Setsuko, it's more complex than "dead", the explanation for Rin being in town is more complex than "Sakura pulled a name out of a hat and happened to draw the one that ties in to Akiko's tragic past", and why they were sneaking around in the first place is more complex than planning an ambush.

[] tell the old lady no thanks, we're fine out here.
[] Akiko, you understand, I am here to negotiate peace between all sides, past crimes be damned. I didn't let the University Girls demand reparations from you, you have to stop attacking Ishanomaki.
[] Tell Akiko that it looks like she's planning a counterattack- might want to remedy that. We will be moving to a defensive position until such time that it is clear she is no longer planning to attack. Tell her this.
[] Ask Rin and Sakura if the rest of Sendai is adamant about attacking Ishanomaki, too. Why?
-[] Tell everyone that you're worried about a possible counterattack by Akiko. Sorry, but we have to move to the rooftop to assume a defensive position.
[] Move the party (Rin and the UG included) to the rooftop, create grief barrier against rain. Clear, so we can still see. Keep a close eye on Rin (possible flight or rescue risk)
[] Make sure everyone is on red alert, continue to try to talk to Akiko. She isn't blameless either, so if the UG can be expected to not attack her, she can be expected to not attack Ishanomaki. You're willing to listen to reasonable (non-grief seed related) terms on this, but attacking Ishanomaki is unacceptable.

A little long, but there's a lot to be done, here. Lot's of people are calling for WAR and others seem to want to continue sitting around a table, vulnerable. I think a fight is inevitable, here. I just want to continue trying to talk Akiko out of a fight until she throws the first punch.

Edit: vote changed

We also have to give the old lady an answer.

[x] Decline to go inside, we'll be leaving shortly.
[X] We're moving to a rooftop or someplace equally deserted. Pick a covered rooftop, if possible, but make sure it is within sight of Sakura's current vantage point.
[x] Telepathy Akiko: Get her to elaborate on what exactly does she think the Ishinomaki group have done.
-[x] If that doesn't work, try and get Rin and Sakura to shed some light on the matter. Fill them in on the offer you relayed to Akiko while you are at it. Why exactly was there conflict between Sendai and the Ishinomaki group in the first place.

Bah, short vote up, but this will hopefully provide a decent framework to build on. Now, I'mma going to go sleep off this sleep deprivation. With luck, I won't wake up to an exploding thread.

Oh, who am I kidding.

Eh, couple things popped into mind; going to be pretty rough.

[] Talk to Sakura.
-[] You passed along Ishinomaki's statement that they'd be satisfied with nothing more than a mutual cease-fire. Akiko rejected it, stating revenge as her reason for doing so. Do you really want to be fighting some endless war against Ishinomaki?
-[] Some of them want her dead, Sakura, but they're willing to let it all go if she'd just stop bothering them.
-[] The situation with Kato seems to be at the center of this, try to get more detail
-[] Akiko needs help. You're willing to offer what assistance you can, but the situation can't continue as it has been.

Alternately, if you don't mind messing with Akiko while she's talking with Fukushima:

[] Talk to Akiko
-[] Redress for what, exactly? You only know the rough outline of what happened with Kato, press for details.

Also need to deal with the rain thing in some fashion. Either head to the roof and do the shelter thing(with proper warning), or go inside, and maybe have Sendai send an additional girl in if they're concerned about Rin's safety.

Fake edit: Leaning towards Cannongerbil's vote.

More importantly, who here actually thinks Akiko is going to listen to us this time? What is different from when she refused all those times before? I think that she's not going to listen, trying to talk to her is a waste of time at this point, and that we need to make her listen, which will probably necessitate violence.

[] Talk to Sakura.

I do like this part; I'd rather not alienate the rest of the Sendai group while beating some sense into Akiko.

So, to start with:
[X] Talk to Sakura.
-[X] You passed along Ishinomaki's statement that they'd be satisfied with nothing more than a mutual cease-fire. Akiko rejected it, stating revenge as her reason for doing so. Do you really want to be fighting some endless war against Ishinomaki?

-[X] The situation with Kato seems to be at the center of this, try to get more detail
-[X] Akiko needs help. You're willing to offer what assistance you can, but the situation can't continue as it has been.

Throwing something out as well:
[x] Decline to go inside, we'll be leaving shortly.
[x] Move to a rooftop or someplace equally deserted. Pick a covered rooftop, if possible, but make sure it is within sight of Sakura's current vantage point. Tell everyone to be alert.
[x] Talk to Sakura
-[x] Ask why AKiko rejected the ceasefire and what exactly she wants revenge for.
-[x] The situation with Kato seems to be at the center of this, try to get more detail.
-[x] Does she have information about the current Fukushima situation.

Have we ever asked if the UGgroup knows something about Kato? Ishinomaki are their allies after all. If not:

[x] Do the UG girls now something about Kato? Or the reason behind Akiko's quest for vengeance?

Since Akiko keeps brushing us off for soe reason, I don't think talking to her atthe moment will be of much use. Sakura seems to know the reasons for Akiko's behaviour as well and it may be easier to get her talking.

Going 'oh were you tricked by kyubey' over kyubey's telepathy sounds like a fantastic idea.

I'm ok with canongerbil and variants, at a glance anyway. If we're still talking, "Redress for what?" is probably my primary question.

Even less reason to work with Sabrina.
Eh, Kyubey's pragmatic. He'll work with Sabrina as long as he gets his energy ex nihilo.

If we can GRIEF SCIENCE! our way into controlling grief to create energy directly, then he'll be perfectly happy to work with us, I bet.
IIRC, that one boiling witch showed it could very well be possible.

Once we do that, I'm sure he'll be perfectly willing to cooperate with us. After all, he is a reasonable fellow.

Goodbye, any shred of Akiko's credibility. We are done. We are so, so done.

[]Thanks, but it's time for us to go.
[]Confront the rest of Sendai about what we just heard. Don't make us do this. Don't go along with her plan. We need them to work with us here.
[]We won't hurt Akiko unless we have to , but if she's going to go after the University group we'll stop her right now. We're not letting her pursue her vendetta against Ishinomaki.
[]Akiko. Last chance. Peace is going to happen whether you like it or not. Whatever you have against Ishinomaki, whatever you're doing, give it up.
[]Go and find her.

Yeah, screw it. It's time to go on the warpath.

dammit... we finally have an opening to get an actual answer about just what she thinks the Ishinomaki group did to Setsuko and why, and we're wasting it.

Redundant, since consensus seems to be that we should go get us a scalp anyway, but -
@Muramasa: You'd fight Sendai over one girl, but not Ishinomaki?

Well...That is weird. I'm partially willing to support Sendai, as long as their grievance's history does put Ishinomaki well into wrong. Or Ishinomaki if it is the other way around - for the same reason that I'd support UG, I'd support Sendai.

You fold your own arms. "Alright. So what the hell is actually going on? You girls went to Ishinomaki, and the next thing I hear, there's a war going on. What were the three of you doing in Ishinomaki?"

Akiko gives you an evaluating look. "Negotiations, and healing."

You narrow your eyes. "Then how did this start? Why were those girls after you?"

The bluenette shrugs. "They hold an... old grudge. I suspect that they orchestrated this entire thing."

"A grudge," you say skeptically, idly noting that she seems to be pinning the blame on Ishinomaki, rather than the University group.

"Yes, a fuckin' grudge," Sakura snaps at you. Rin, standing beside her, puts a calming hand on her shoulder, which Sakura shakes off with in an angry motion.

Kirika flexes her hands lightly, eyeing the teleporter warily, while Mami gives Akiko and Sakura both an equally unimpressed look. Rin... shrinks a little, eyes darting between all of you nervously.

Akiko closes her eyes, tilting her head back up at the sky. "We attempted to... aggressively acquire their territory, once."

"You tried to steal their city," you say flatly.

"Yes," Akiko admits.
We already know who started this shit. Assuming for a moment that the IG side of the story was nothing but lies from beginning to end (I, for one, think they're considerably more credible than Akiko, but whatever), it's still 'casualties resulting from attempted annexation', not 'slowly murdering people to marginally increase the size of your rock collection'. These things are not equal. Try to drive a group out of their city by force, and you don't really have a great deal of high ground should they subsequently take out one of your people. Stupid games, stupid prizes, et cetera.
