I hold out no hope of being able to do this before, rather than after, fighting them.
Can't we at least try, before it is too late to disarm Akiko because she has already used them and because they're already armed against us?

We certainly can't do it mid-battle, and there is nothing lost if we try it before, for nothing stops us making the offer (for thing that does not exist anymore?) too.

It would be certainly something if we tried, though.

Enemy 1: "How! Can! You! Keep! Ugh... Talking and fighting!... AT THE SAME TIME! GAH!"

Sabrina: "I'm good at multitasking." *Eyes widen* "Watch out behind you!"

Enemy 1: *Turns around* "Wah?"

Sabrina: "HAMMER!" *CRACK* "...Sucker."

Negotiations have now officially failed.

In my humble opinion, I think it never have started since we used several updates to comprehend what exactly Akiko is smoking.

It never started - it's just been overcast for a while.

Goddammit Firn.

[x] Muramasa

One can't be wary enough, and this pretty much covers it all. Investigate Akiko is wasting time, better get ready to whatever little water miss is going to throw us.

[X] Ask about the last two Sendai girls
[x] Telepathy Homura. Get info on the Fukushima group. Members, weapons, powersets, dispositions ect.
[X] Have Mami take over negotiations
[X] Go investigate Akiko.
[x] Telepathy Akiko. Note unprofessionalism in leaving the negotiations unannounced. Ask what she's doing.
-[x] If she lies or comes off overly vague, call her out on it.
-[x] Regardless, find out her intentions with the Fukushima group. Be wary of Coobs level omissions.

We should actually go deal with the newcomers rather than...standing around and waiting for them to attack?

Maybe. Let's wait on Homura's info first?

Missed a bracket.
Her information doesn't actually change anything; just gives us more to work with when we do go try and deal with them. Combat isn't our first resort for that, anyway. There's no reason to hold off on actually doing something rather than having the questioning as part of the same vote. We certainly don't want to wait for Akiko to bring them all here to attack Sendai/torpedo negotiations.

We don't know if they're going to attack right away. Probably Akiko will come and use Fukushima as negociation chip to give her demands some weight first.

Which we do not want. We're better off shutting that down before it happens by trying to buy off Fukushima.

At how things are... combat is inminent anyway.

I mean, it strikes to me that the reason Akiko was so recluntant to negociate is because she had Fukushima's support since the beginning,

Akiko is a bitch, simply as that. We said a lot of thing regarding her, but at the end she knows where she's standing.

And a last thought: we don't know what they're capable of, or how many of them are here. Running to stop them without that knowledge is a bad idea, honestly.

Which is why we get that knowledge from Homura. I disagree that combat is a guarantee.

Regardless? We can survive an encounter with them.

@Onmur: That...hammer....Your snip is too subtle for Sabrina.

"This is a sneaking mission Snake."

@Ugolino: Yeah, so lets actually try to buy off Fukushima, by telepathing them before they can meet Akiko.

@EtchedSteel: Agreed, but that is what Homura is for.

Ugo, you're not shadowrunning enough. What if Akiko is expecting us to do this? What if there's someone in Fukushima with anti-magic?

Is true that Homura's infodump doesn't change things, but going alone to shut down Akiko's dealing with Fukushima?

Dude, that only invites disaster.

Drastic measures are called for because having Fukushima show up at negotiations is less than ideal. If someone in Fukushima had anti-magic levels of brokenness-and I'm sure that Firn would let us change track if Homura does actually say that. We can and have handled groups of magical girls, and can quite easily make a getaway to regroup if negotiations don't work- and it seems crazy enough that Akiko definitely wouldn't expect it.

I am sure that nobody will react well to both Akiko and Sabrina leaving the table, including Akiko herself. That may invite combat by itself.

Hell, the point of Sabrina leaving the table being bad for negotiations was earlier used as a reason why not have a private discussion with Akiko alone.

Except that negotiations are on hold with Akiko outright gone, and Sakura intervening isn't our biggest problem right now. Mami and Rin are more than capable of holding the fort.

What can we do about Fukushima by meeting them that we can't do by contacting them from here? If we can talk them down or buy them off via telepathy, great.
If we can't, if they show up here and start breaking shit very publicly in spite of the doubts Sendai are beginning to entertain about Akiko's position - unwarranted aggression against neutrals, legitimizes use of force on our part, Akiko's leadership's undermined further. Win/win.

Except for the part where...Sendai might actually go along with it, and a shooting war escalates?

We don't actually need justification for what we do.
