You know, this line is kind of strange. Were we lying? Sabrina knew about the system for all of a couple minutes before she contracted. What she said is only true in the broader sense that we, the thread participants, knew about the magical girl system long before the quest started.

I can't tell if this is just Sabrina lying about her background for reasons, or if it's supposed to be a hint towards something.
Despite the hair color similarities, Sabrina is not Kyubey, and is thus not limited to speaking only in technical truths. She is, in fact, free to lie outright.

Notably, this lie is actually more true to the emotional impact of the situation than the truth that she learned about the Magical Girl system only moments before she made her wish. It feels right to me that Sabrina's being more honest in her lies than Kyubey is with his truths.

On an unrelated subject, while my internet has been down this past week due to a possum living under my porch chewing through my cable line, I realized that Grief Cubes aren't the way to go. There is another mode of Grief storage out there that we have the resources to pursue right now. Evil Nuts. They work, best we can work out, by injecting Grief into a normal human, which means they have to be able to store Grief. We know the power combos involved with creating them, and while Umika's not Witchbombed, Sayaka has a copy of her powers and is Witchbombed. Sabrina may be able to contribute enchantment to move Grief into them so they'll function like proper Grief Seeds, but even if she can't having a storage that isn't a Grief Seed is an absolute game changer for our plans.

So Sabrina's train of bulletime thought is gonna go:

  1. Brief flash of 'Ugh what's with this bad faith nonsense I didn't even know Toshimichi until just a few minutes ago, and I only asked her about all this so that I could make sure I could give as many as possible cleansing without accidently all of Tokyo'
  2. 'But I really don't wanna shut her down rudely since I do wanna get to the bottom of whatever Toshimichi did to piss her off, especially if it's something I could fix now or potentially'
  3. *braindamage*
  4. 'Wait, we could try using modified evil nuts as grief seeds!'
  5. *Confidant nod, then our vote*

Okay so.

First of all: man I need to find more time for PMAS.

Second of all: I want to thank

For carrying out this vote.

That might sound silly or, like, presumptuous or something. I don't mean it to be. Voting in PMAS isn't terribly easy, and getting it right isn't easy either. This... This is really good. Thank you, all of you.
To be honest, this has been the most difficult debate I've seen in this thread since...

Actually, I'm not sure. Dealing with Iowas imprisonment might have been worse, but I don't remember if that was due to arguing about the future of what to do with them, or the vote itself.

Anyway, difficult vote. I'm not even fully satisfied with the current one, but it honestly seems like the best option right now, and I can't think of any way to improve it, so I'm going for it.

My only real worry is that we might accidentally shut down her airing any grievances, but she may not do that anyways with Chiyoda right there.

Giving miss bad faith the stage seems like a terrible idea even if she where to make real accusations.

Those are potentially witchy in nature, and she doesn't seem the type to censor well. Heavy handed hints at best.

We have the option to approach them later, privately. That'll let us get their side of the story without an audience or any showboating, and it follows through on our promise to "work and co-operate with every girl in Tokyo".
