I think part of Kyouko's change is around her belief about selfishness/selflessness and how it pertains to Sabrina. She believes trying to live selflessly, wish selflessly, and doing things for others only backfires and brings you misery.

Her whole thing is you should use magic for yourself.

Except...here's Sabrina. A girl who relentlessly uses her magic in pursuit of her own desires...which just happen to be creating a better world for everyone (and flirting with Mami and being a big dramatic dork).

Kyouko spends enough time to realize it's not a front and just...accepts it. Sabrina is just doing what she wants; it's fine. She's a weirdo who just happens to want to be annoyingly altruistic all the time.

And then Kyouko gets more involved with Sabrina, she's doing more things, training Sayaka, and then she goes and plays the big damn hero beating down the bad Iowa Group. Somewhere along the way she realizes...she wants this too. She's supposed to live selfishly, but she's denying herself things she wants to do.

The cognitive dissonance builds, until Kyouko just decides to go "fuck it, I'm just doing what I feel like." And so she does. She sees Sabrina moping and she doesn't like it so she pokes her nose in until Sabrina stops. She's emotionally worn out so she flops into a bean bag chair. There's an interesting discussion going on, so she participates.

tl;dr: She's not bothering to weigh her actions anymore and is just doing what she feels like.

The Constellation huh? I like it. It has star power.

Plus when we set up legitimate business fronts, constellation corp totally sounds like the cyberpunk-esque monolithic megacorp we could make it. Fits for anything from tech and private security to more innocuous pursuits like pet supplies. Our specialty can be bunnycat shock collars.

Hmmm. Memes aside, the actual constellation our logo should be based off of is Sagitta. It's the arrow that pierced the eagle that was used to eternally torment Prometheus, so in terms of symbolism it generally represents an end to grief and progress into the future, it matches Sabrina's soul gem's shape, and it naturally ties into Madokami's Theme.

Here's a logo with a stylised arrow beneath it.

I agree, Sagitta Constellation.

I never thought of that before, that Madoka's theme is literally Arrow of Light. Like the Cub Scout award...

Madoka as a Den Mother?

Well, here's my proposal

[X] Get back to Nagisa and send her on her way - apologise to her uncle if we have the chance and express a desire to discuss things properly another time. Copious bowing!
-[X] We did something grand and good and great today, and that deserves celebration. Instead of just parting ways, let's invite all the Mitakihara Meguca to attend a slap-up meal this evening as guests of the White Ribbon Chapter of the Constellation. Be it at an actual restaurant or epic quantities of takeout (delivered to the Mamipartment or Kasa de Kure, depending on space considerations), we have Yakuza Ca$h Mone¥ and can totally afford to splurge on our friends!

EDIT: Mossconfig rightly pointed out that this evening will be our meeting with Hitomi's mum, so back-burner the suggestion of a evening celebratory meal. That said, I think a post-Iowa Mitakihara dinner outing will go down well if we have the time after seeing Nagisa off, even if its just another trip to an all-you-can-eat - I'm betting everyone is probably feeling hungry after all that exertion.

--

My reasoning is this: a celebratory meal with friends would not only be an epic 'thank you' to everyone who contributed to today's success (and that absolutely includes Madoka and Hitomi), but present a great chance to reflect on what we've accomplished and what we hope to achieve at tomorrow's Tokyo meeting. It will also get everyone (especially Homura) socialising, plus we can (depending on mood and trust levels) offer the Kures, Kyouko, Yuma etc. an invitation to formally join the White Ribbon chapter - affirm our friendship and camraderie and all that.

On that note, now that we have a name for The Constellation, I can see the different groups within it acting like 'member states' at the UN, so the idea of having local self-organising 'chapters' seems like a good way of maintaining organisational structure while keeping things fairly loose and imformal. We'd have the White Ribbon, Pleiades Saints, University Group etc. - each bringing their own perspective and talents to the whole - each a shining star in the tapestry of the Constellation.

I agree, Sagitta Constellation.

I never thought of that before, that Madoka's theme is literally Arrow of Light. Like the Cub Scout award...

Madoka as a Den Mother?

I'd also like to agree with the Sagitta constellation as an ideal basis for a logo - in another time and place it was Madoka's divine arrow that pierced the Grief in every magical girl's heart, and now we aim to do the same, and end suffering endured for the Promethean gift of fire/magic!

This evening is hitomom diplomacy. We definitely should have a company dinner once we get a HQ thought.

Dang, knew I was forgetting something - big celebratory dinner might be something for tomorrow post-Tokyo, depending on results. Thanks for pointing that out Moss - I've added an addendum to my post suggesting something smaller prior to this evening's meeting with Hitomi's mum. Everyone's probably feeling the need to feed anyway :D

"Spectrum?" Homura ventures quietly.

You shoot her an encouraging grin.

"Because of our Soul Gem colours?" Sayaka asks, tapping her chin.
Sayaka, they're lesbians.
I see Firn has good taste in music.

On the vote, I don't think there is much to say to the others than thanking them again and maybe some stuff about The Constellation, but considering we'll be talking to them again in-quest tomorrow I don't think there's much to say. So, in other words,
[x]Get back to Nagisa
And probably properly apologize for having to leave, but knowing Sabrina that's already on the docket.
Also, for my two cents, I feel The Constellation Coalition could work pretty well.

Anyway, here's what I've got for logos.

General Logo: "Constellation", showing the primary stars of the Sagitta constellation, with a stylized arrow beneath symbolizing progress.

Mitakihara Logo: "Constellation: Mitakihara", showing the 12 brightest primary and secondary stars of the Sagitta constellation, one star for each member of our local group, including Madoka, Hitomi, the Shiogama Refugees, Oriko and Kirika, and Kyouko and Yuma. There is a lemniscate in the background, symbolizing infinity.

Asunaro Logo: "Constellation: Asunaro", showing the 7 primary stars of the Pleiades constellation, one star for each member of the Pleiades Saints, with a stylized arrow beneath.

Fukushima Logo: "Constellation: Fukushima", showing the 5 primary stars of the Canes Venatici ("Hunting Hounds") constellation, one star for each member of the Fukushima Mercenary Group, with a stylized broad headed arrow and a large shield beneath, symbolizing their role as offensive and defensive powerhouses.

Actually, don't we have a pretty full night planned of meeting with Hitomi's parents (to discuss mundane-magical cooperation ideas) and then cramming anti-mind whammy contingencies before the Tokyo meeting?

I don't think we have time for a party or anything else. We really do not want to skimp on the anti-mind whammy considering the hints we've had about Tokyo powers that be.

Wow, that constellation of logos looks pretty good! If I saw these in the wild I would learn that the stars and the not!Nike swoosh mean that group, and if there's a different thing behind it it refers to some related group. So, I'd maybe critique the details of the logos behind, but the general scheme of constellation + background seems distinctive and easy to reproduce (sorta, most attempts at reproduction would get the point across). Different choices of constellation are interesting and fine, although they probably will not be remembered in detail by someone who just sees them so the second logos need to be distinctive on their own. Which they are. All in all, seems solid.

I have an unrelated thought, that Sabrina is going to predictably fly places a lot, and we should fly faster when we do. Most important speedup would be a way to avoid creating a sonic boom, preferably with only inert grief if one is available. Otherwise, witchy-leave-the-air-alone thingies (can be dispelled before arrival as needed) are a good idea on flights that would otherwise take more than 5 minutes, probably.

My general thinking has been that really, flight is outdated and we should be ferrying ourselves around via Sayaclone.

Prediction.

When we tell the Tokyo Group about forming an alliance between multiple cities and defeating Iowa, we'll just get bored looks.

But when we mention that Mami is our girlfriend, people will rage that they didn't even get a shot. Maybe someone will give a thumbs up and say, "Nice."
