The only real input I'd like to see Sabrina have during the Mami/Kyouko talk is just to have some kind of icebreaker. The grief hair extensions were both distracting, amusing and harmless. Something like that. Something to break the tension.

"I... hm." You lean into Mami's hand, following the trail of her fingertips along your scalp. "I... maybe? The support would be nice, but the fact that Kyouko and Sayaka are already friends might make it weird. It's a good idea, though, I'll mull it over. Thanks, Homura."

Mmm. No, no I don't like this idea. From Kyouko's perspective it could look like bringing in a neutralish arbitrator and/or friend to both parties to help mediate...or it could look like dragging in one of Kyouko's few friends in the community (or in general?), making it clear that she's firmly in Mami's camp, and also giving her a front row seat to Kyouko showing vulnerability in a personal matter.

Idea have Sabriba be off to the side in a grief lounge chair reading yuri romance manga while Kyoko and Mami talk.

Or is that too obvious

[Q] Continue growing hair. Become spider.

This was a good result. Mami is in a good headspace and prepared in case of incidental Kyouplomacy. Thanks, Kaizuki!

I agree with not inviting Sayaka. Any last-minute changes have the potential to put Best Cat at high alert (more than she already is). Probably doable, but tricky and what's the point?

An icebreaker seems like a reasonable gambit, but I'm somewhat unsure what Kyouko's likely to do here. Given Sabrina's pattern of interaction with her, I expect she'll get around to emotional honesty somehow unless things derail. So preventing things from derailing is a goal. But Mami is a very different person, and I'm not sure what Mami's likely to do. And when Mami shows no interest in fighting that'll throw Best Cat for a loop right off the bat, even if she maybe sorta realizes that's the case already.

This should be between Mami and Kyouko to the greatest extent actually achievable. I lean towards some flavor of mediation, even though I can't say I have any details.

I'm not sure about inviting Sayaka or not. The most fundamental thing here is getting Kyouko and Mami to realize the nature of their bond (That they're like family to each other) but I'm not sure whether or how Sayaka's presence would influence that.

I don't think Kyouko would oppose Sayaka's presence on principle; We've already sort-of implied she or Homura might be there.

I am a selfish quester with absolutely no interest in promoting KyouMami
Silly DB and Kai, you're misreading it entirely: They're sisters, not girlfriends. :p

Well, regardless whether we decide to bring Sayaka with us or not, let's check up on her and tell her what we're doing, eh?

And if she asks to tag along, we gotta ask Mami and Kyouko themselves, I guess. Though I doubt Sayaka will want to, she can read the mood... most of the time.

"We may wish to invite Miki Sayaka," Homura murmurs to you, and you alone.
Hunh, wait a moment... From her word choice here, I think Homura may be inviting herself to the meeting. Or at least expecting and intending to go with us.

--------------------------

Anyways, honestly I'm tempted to just... spell it out. Ask Kyouko outright if she ever considered Mami as like a sister to her and likewise if Mami might have misinterpreted her saying she was something different than a friend.

Or, more reasonably, open by saying that, while it needs to be said by the two of them, acknowledging what they are too each other without room for misinterpretation is going to be the core of any reconciliation.

Yyeeeeeeaaaaah?
Homura looks up silently from the coffee table, her pen stilling for a second before she nods at you, which you interpret as acknowledgement and notice that she will, in fact, be there, and then she returns to her homework.

Well I think Homura will cause less trouble than Sayaka since Homura has not interacted with Kyouko as much. Sayaka being there could be useful... or make Kyouko feel like her ongoing relationship is resting on this discussion which might not be ideal.

[] Invite Sayaka
[] Don't invite Sayaka
[] During the meeting
- [] Guide the conversation
- [] Provide an opening statement
- [] Just let Mami and Kyouko talk it out
[X] Vote in abeyance

This is just dumb.

[X] To Sayaka:
-[X] Explain: Mami and Kyouko are meeting and anyone present is basically going to have to not take sides and account for the fact that both of them think things that are just *extremely wrong* about their relationship. You're gonna be mediating as quietly as possible.
--[X] She's welcome to come if she wants, *but.*
---[X] Kyouko is probably the more volatile party, and she's definitely worried about this. Having her show up to a bunch of people "on Mami's side" would be terrible. Taking that into account, whether to come and how to come is up to her.
----[X] Answer any questions Sayaka has.

That can probably be condensed a bit but that's how we should handle this. Telling Sayaka that Kyouko is *worried* about this should suffice to raise all the correct red flags for Sayaka to make a smart choice, whatever that might be, given that she knows Kyouko.

[X] During the meeting:
-[X] Don't stand next to Mami. Stand to the side.
-[X] Let Mami and Kyouko talk it out...
--[X] Interject if something comes up that you feel a need to respond to with "Okay, that's just not true."
--[X] The overriding objective is to get something to the effect of "I still care about you" out of Mami and to Kyouko. If that isn't happening on its own, *do whatever you have to do.*

I did miss that particular point. Anyway...
"Hmm?" Sayaka eyes you, very obviously curious, but holds it in until you're both aboard the dinnerplate and airborne. You wave goodbye to Kyouko and Yuma as they recede into the distance, swallowed by the green of the park.

"Trying to help Kyouko and Mami reconcile," you say, rubbing at your nose. "Yeah. I'm not really gonna make that a big secret, because, well... Mami's gonna need all the support from her friends."

"Oh," Sayaka says. "Ah." She sucks in a breath, cheeks hollowing. "You think it'll be OK?"
Sayaka knows of the meeting, and didn't try to.... invite herself or whatever. No need to specifically bring it up again with her.

That just leaves Homura, and I'm inclined to assume she's just... offering to be there?

@Kaizuki is generally along the lines I would advocate. I strip the Sayaka bits since I think no action is required, attempt to dismiss Homura in a non-dismissive manner, and add a bit to sit instead of standing. Sitting is a less confrontational posture, and lets Sabrina stay between them and off to the side while staying at close range to Mami. At this stage, I'm not attached to anything I've advocated.

[] Thank Homura and decline her offer to attend; Kyouko doesn't know her (yet)
[] During the meeting:
-[] Shape a table and chairs so everyone is sitting at close range
-[] Let Mami and Kyouko talk it out...
--[] Interject if something comes up that you feel a need to respond to with "Okay, that's just not true."
--[] The overriding objective is to get something to the effect of "I still care about you" out of Mami and to Kyouko. *Do what you have to do.*
Edit: changed vote
