Technically, she doesn't need to produce any hormones either.

See how that's working out.

On a more serious note, sleep and food are also non-mandatory, but rather affect her meatsack with their conspicuous absence. And air is even more important to have than food and sleep.
I'm pretty sure you can sub in most any bodily process with magic, most of it would simply be clever application of healing. can't guarantee it would feel good considering that all magic is cast from sanity
Speaking of sleep being important... I have a sneaking suspicion that a decent chunk of Homura's massive social progress in a fairly short amount of time is simply because we pushed her to actually sleep.
sleep is important for a growing devil :V

Sounds totally believable to me.
I'm always becoming a little more sociopathic when I don't get enough sleep. Dunno if it's a consistent result for other people, but if I feel that way, there's a chance someone else will feel the same.

Now I get to call my sleep-deprived self "the inner Homura".

Only I'm not a 27 years old lesbian Magical Girl gun aficionado? Not to my knowledge, at least. :V
usually I start acting like blue berserker sayaka. hyper manic and slightly (super) unhinged

-[ ] Inform Kazumi about Fukushima's possible involvement.
Could probably contact Yuki now, in between hanging out with friends bits.

Also, is this the first directly-observed in-quest evidence we've gotten that Homura is physically totally in lesbians with Madoka? We've certainly seen the emotional and psychological aspects, but I'm not sure we've seen Homura freeze up like this. Like, she freezes up when she gets hugs from anyone, but she recovers after a few seconds, and it's explainable as people getting into her personal space. This time, Madoka is just being absentmindedly close enough for Homura to start having to worry about keeping her hands off.

Good idea, @Vebyast.

[ ] Kazumi:
-[ ] Given Toshimichi is strong enough to control Tokyo, maybe we should err on the side of caution?
--[ ] Ask for Mami's advice - you trust her instincts.
-[ ] Tell Kazumi about Fukushima - hiring them to contain Airi, and them wanting to ride the wave you're creating and agreeing to a mutual defense pact.
--[ ] Inform Kazumi that you'll ask Fukushima if they're interested in sending a representative.

[ ] Contact Yuki from Fukushima:
-[ ] Inform her about your goals in Tokyo, and what you've learned.
--[ ] Ask if she's interested in sending some representatives to a meeting with Chiyoda.
--[ ] Ask to discuss what she knows about Tokyo in more detail during tommorow's meeting.
-[ ] Ask if she'd be willing to help you contact the other Fukushima Groups tomorrow, to spread Clear Seeds.

[ ] Oriko discussion:
-[ ] Per vote in abeyance.

[ ] Discuss plans for Friday with your friends:
-[ ] The visit to Fukushima in the morning.
-[ ] A potential visit to Tome or Kyoto in the afternoon.
--[ ] Tome are close friends of the University Group, who vouch for them as good people.
--[ ] Nadia vouches for the Murasaki Shine Maidens in Kyoto as being kind, and you're curious if they know about more long term magical girl history.

[ ] Enchantment studies.
-[ ] Follow Mami's advice.
--[ ] Else, per vote in abeyance.

have we considered renaming Mobil Oppression Fortress yet? The whole arc of dropping hot into Asunaro screamed XCOM to me and we have a "turn based" pause button to think with and a CO/SO that is very good with guns, leadership, and looking cute in sweaters. not to mention kind old shen (shin) and his precocious and lovable daughter.

petition to rename MOF to Firebrand. We're a firebrand ourselves, it's less oppressy, and XCOM is an interventionist transnational peacekeeping force dedicated to taking all the aliens and punting them off the planet. That's my vote

We have, just nobody has agreed upon a name.

Okay, can I speak out against this?

We're going out on a cleansing trip Sunday. That's a good time to meet groups as closely aligned with as Tome is with the University group. We can outright invite ourselves to meet the Tome group when we discuss the particulars of all that.

Friday, on the other hand, will be our last chance for quite some time to look into bomb-y problems without Mami right next to us. We should use that time accordingly. Topics of relevance now being Dewitching, Feathers, and seeing what's up with the Shiogama girls and whether they know about. (And filling them in on Kyouko and the Animators, since we elided that due to Mami.)

Instead, I'd like to propose a version of what I wrote up earlier:

[] Discuss recruiting from afield for Walpurgisnacht:
-[] Brainstorm ways people can contribute. This isn't something you should do alone and as much as you've had some luck, dealmaking simply isn't your skillset.
-[] Ask if others, Homura especially, would be interested in looking into IRCs for the purposes of recruitment.
-[] Raise the idea of asking groups we've met on the next trip out of town.

A rather hot take, but
It got me thinking
If Sabrina is in fact dewitched Walpurgisnacht
A being created out of a congealed mass of grief, despair and suffering

Does it mean that Sabrina is Walpurgisnacht's fursona Madokami helped her to develop?
I mean, Sabrina is a mammal, technically
:thonk:
I mean, Walpurgis is a mass of human souls. So Sabrina is no more her fursona than your own body is yours.

...

...Do you consider your own body to be your soul's Fursona?

Sorry, no, this is a bad idea to do while Madoka is right there. We promised Homura we would do better when it comes to how we handle Walpurgisnacht-related matters around Madoka. The underlined part especially is going to run into hideous issues, as-is.

*sighs*

Fair. However I do think we need to have that talk with Homura, Mami, and Sayaka and soon. The sooner it happens, the sooner it's not just Sabrina working to pull in people, but the whole team doing so, and I expect they'll be better at it than we will. Homura especially so.

I was thinking about medium-term plans.

So today is Thursday April 14. Our plans for Friday are visiting Fukushima in the morning and for the afternoon, tentatively doing some dewitching research? Saturday, we have no morning/afternoon plans yet as far as I can tell, but we have dinner with Hitomi's parents. Sunday, we have our cleansing trip.

Monday the 18th is when the Souju sisters may arrive. (Relevant quote from Monday April 4 by Oriko)

"Them," Oriko says, an annoyed tone in her voice. "They may come through Mitakihara in... two weeks."

When are we planning on dealing with them? It's probably not a good idea to just let them come to Mitakihara roaming around taking Soul Gems on Monday until we catch them. It's probably better to preemptively act than need to do damage control in this case, I think.

However, unfortunately, I'm also unsure how we'd find them in advance unless Oriko's clairvoyance becomes usable soon. Perhaps Fukushima Group has some information-gathering ability?

Thoughts?

Secondly, do we have plans sooner or later to approach the potentials we are aware of and actively discourage contracts, or do we think it is a better idea to stay away from them altogether? If we're going to do this, I'd suggest tomorrow after school, although I'm not sure whether it may be better to stay away from them in case approaching them itself increases their odds of contracting.

Do we plan on meeting Sasa again any time soon? If so, when?

@Redshirt Army
I've added a little section where Sabrina mentions the official/unofficial thing, because in this case, no - Sayaka didn't bring up the Tokyo group with Madoka.
"... and one of them has a boyfriend," you agree. "Anyway, so, Tokyo... seems interesting. Not necessarily in a bad way, but it's kind of interesting to me. The Osaki group girls seemed to be very insistent that we could only visit if we considered it an unofficial visit, and, they didn't want to accept help, either. And... Tokyo apparently has twenty seven magical girl groups."
I blame the jet lag.

But please no military stuff in the meguca. It's cool, yes, but that doesn't make it right for this setting.

You know, 5 years ago I would have said no, but gender transition really does give you a weird feeling of 'I made this myself', doesn't it?

Soon I shall finish casting off these accidents of birth and shackles from God, and become more powerful than you can even imagine

Bitch please that ain't canon :V
Neither is Homura using a gatling gun, and yet...

You can't tell me that Homura using any stonking huge gun she can get her hands on is exactly out of character can you?

Then again, I suppose you could argue that Homura is our local military meguca.

EDIT: Though returning to the original topic, I think it would be more appropriate to name the MOF like a commercial airliner, since we keep joking around with the "meguca airlines" bit.

It's different circumstances and more towards "This mind of mine is of my making," on my end but yeah, I think I get your sentiment there.

I have a better question: do you not? :V

Eh, the definition of Fursona gets a little technical and blurry at the same time, but it's generally agreed on that Fursona is a furry ( or sometimes angel, demon, alien, mythological creature, birb ) identity created for roleplaying experience.

Sabrina is a quest character created for roleplaying experience.
Sabrina is technically an anthropomorphic animal ( duh ).

So
There you have it, The Phoenixian.

Okay, but consider how that logic can be extended:

Magical girls are really just their soul gems. They can live without their bodies and, as seen in the case of Masami, can even learn to act without them.
The bodies of magical girls are really just things they use to play the roles of humans when interacting in society.

Thus, magical girls are their own fursonas.

Behold and tremble at the real dark secret behind magical girls. :V

(I wonder if we can use that if we ever need to take the piss out of the lichbomb...)

Your D&D character is a Fursona
Your superheroic identity is a Fursona
Batman and Catwoman are definitely Fursonas
Homucifer is absolutely freaking obviously a Fursona

I can take it as far as I want to
Or even farther :V

But well
Rule of thumb
If you get Mami to call her Meguca uniform a Fursona
Then you're golden
Otherwise
A thwack on your head with a newspaper and you're sleeping on a coach this night

Basically I expect we're going to see an explosion of morphological freedom as soon as magical girl society escapes from subsistence living.

How far do you think magical girls can push healing magic and the soul/body interface, do you think?

*looks pointedly at the collection of witches we've seen in PMMM, SayakaQuest and PMAS*
Depends on their SAN rolls, I'd imagine.

I'm of the opinion that the hardcore transhumanists- those who'd be ecstatic about the lichbomb, and would eagerly abandon their meatsack for something better- aren't often targeted by the bunnycat for contracts. It wants witches, after all. (Although, throwing the transhumanist meguca's views back in her face in the worse way possible could prompt a grief spiral.)
