Now that we've established that a sack of starving weasels is more reasonable and has more social intelligence than Rionna, I'm kind of wondering if we can't leverage their unsavory habits to our advantage. They gallivant around knocking down meguca and stealing their Gems for their collection but... well, they've collected a lot of gems, meaning they're clearly skilled (or at least cunning) and take no small amount of responsibility and care for keeping them safe and cleansed (whether that's by hunting down Witches or just looting seeds from their victims). They're kind of half-assassin, half-wardeness (in Firn's revision of PMKM dubious writing, I wouldn't be surprised if they already hire themselves out as such).
We're obviously going to alpha strike their shit in (we already promised Mami such), but it might be worth seeing if we can impress them into service as a privateer of sorts, as repayment for their crimes-- coordinating with our intelligence to take down problem meguca in the area/coming to Mitakihara so that we don't have to, especially since we're expecting to see more and more flood into the region. Only problem (from their perspective) is the gems themselves, since we don't want to leave people Gemmed and those that are enough of a problem to justify it should be in high-security at Fukushima, so they can't keep any 'treasure' (when we knock them down, Niko should be able to construct new bodies for the liberated meguca).

"... Hnggggggggggg..." the poor white haired girl literally (in the non literal sense of the word) melts against Mami's side. "K' fine... everyone who wants to come just... hop onto the Mobile Oppression Fortress..."
A lithe, delicate hand on her shoulder makes her look up.
Homura's firm gaze greets Sabrina. The shorter girl takes a good look at the Grief controller, sighs, and murmurs.
"I'll take care of it."
Sabrina blinks.
"You take care of everything else," Homura nods reassuringly.
"Uh... non-lethal?" asks Sabrina, sounding like she could believe the favour she was being granted.
That brings Homura to a stop. The girl leans back, biting her lip in thought. Slowly, with a touch of incredulity, she turns to look at Sayaka.
"Could I take a clone...?"
"Sure, why not?"
With the same agonizing slowness, Homura nods and turns back to Sabrina. Her lips move without sound:
'Talk in private later?'
'You don't know how much I want to,' Sabrina answers, just as silent.
Homura nods, turns her shield-
-and stands a few milimetres away from where she was standing, looking tired and weary, not even minding the just-as-weary Sayaka clone leaning on her shoulder.
"Back," murmurs Homura.
"Yo," greets the bleunette.
Then they both collapse.
"Ah!" Sabrina panics, not slapping her face only because she had to dive to catch the exhausted duo. "Shit..."
"What is it?" asks Mami.
"I can't believe I just sent Homura and Sayaka alone to deal with a whole arc by themselves. In timestop. Sayaka," she looks back, "you might want to lie-"
POP- the clone disappears.
Sayaka's eyes roll back and she collapses.
"-down- someone catch her!"
The bleunette hits the ground with a THUD.
Mami and Sabrina, still holding the slightly snoring Homura, look at Oriko and Kirika, who stand right besides the fallen Sayaka.
Kirika shrugs. "Arms busy," she cuddles closer to Oriko, "can't catch meguca right now."
Sabrina looks back and forth between Homura and Sayaka, before looking back at the Kure couple.
"See, that's why people think you're evil."
Kirika nuzzles Oriko's neck.
Sabrina frowns with a tsk, "... But damn if you two aren't cute together."

I don't see a lot of point in being angry that it can happen... Being angry that something can happen leads to denial or trying to just prevent the thing from happening. We need to accept that there can be characters that simply won't cooperate with us inside quest scope, and from there we need to work around that.

I think we all accepted that a while ago. Nobody's asking to try hugging Iowa or the Soujus. The issue here, at least for me, was that I had a lot of hope wrapped up in Riona. None of the future belligerents are people that I spent years waiting for in the hope of working with them on dewitching.

Right, but I think there's more involved in the connotations of the titles than the gameplay? Like, I don't think it's important whether a title corresponds to platforming or fighting as much as the plot elememts involved in it. Resonance Cascade would be a bad chapter's title because as a plot element, it's literally a disaster -- and, I mean, just the fact it could have been a chapter when it's not a HL chapter and so *has* no corresponding gameplay.
So, what are the connotations of *any* title involving Black Mess?
Perhaps if we'd delayed going to Asunaro, something there might have justified it, but... If there's some other basis for it, Nadia might know. If she *did* know, it'd be a big plot gain... If she doesn't know we'd get some nice worldbuilding anyway.

Repercussions of taking her prisoner I could kind of understand. There's nothing stopping her from accessing telepathy except being a gem -- after all, even potentials can do that. So, yeah, that could stand to be looked at I guess.
