Letting them know what happened to the first girl who stole a Clear Seed may help.

And yes, we're basically bringing much needed humanitarian aid. We have the moral high ground if the council tries to stop us.

It's not a matter of whether we go help save the girl starving to eternal suffering, it's a matter of what the council will do to help.

If they don't, they're gonna lose any legitimacy they might have once the Grief Seed starvation issue is ended and every other meguca is out of reasons to put up with their shit.

You know, you're doing a pretty good job justifying Sakura's contempt and dislike for Sabrina. Which is problematic considering the whole "clear the air" thing. That special blend of pride, arrogance, and certainty of our righteousness. Good intentions with good results in mind don't entirely justify everything. Consequences do in fact apply to Sabrina, and more importantly, to the people around her. Carelessness about these sort of things can lead to things like breaking into Ono's house, traumatizing Rin, threatening Oriko, etc. I'd much prefer to get this council's support than the alternative. We'd end up helping more people, less people try to stop us, and no one gets hurt.

What do you guys even really want here? First it was to make an alliance, then its was to show concern for Rin, and now apparently trying again to clear the air with Sakura? It seems a little all over the place.

Honestly, the vote discussion of late seems even less... comprehensive than it was before. The shitposting is about the same, though.:p

Kirika already made the antimagic bracelet. She'd have to make a second one to tune it to Sakura.
And? We could just swap out the anti magic plate. I don't really see the issue.

In fact I think it would be a good idea to at least swap out the antimagic shackle with one that doesn't effect Yuki. Don't want Anri to be able to break her genius loci.

Hmm. Other possible solution to Rin+Sakura being bored while we talk to Yuki: If we're actually serious about them being a couple, tell them about some good date spots around Mitakihara, drop them some cash, grab them on our way out, and use the flight back to fill them in on the bigger picture.

You know, that's a good plan.
Even if we are not serious about them being a couple.
Even if they are not serious about being a couple... yet.
Does anyone remember the "shipping omake"? Where Sabrina explains that her master plan is shipping every Meguca as soon as she resolves such trifles as the "scarcity society", "dog eats dog mentality", that sort of thing.
I kinda think it's an actual Sabrina's goal.

Edit:
The shitposting is about the same, though.:p

And I thought I've been contributing. Oh well.

Absolutely not. I've already said this before, and I'll reiterate it now: Volunteering Sendai to fight Walpurgisnacht is no way to earn trust.

We can make a separate arrangement with them at some point, but I don't believe the mutual defense pact is a good start to that whatsoever.

But the previous vote that lead to THIS vote was about making them an offer. Can we try to keep a plan straight for more then a single vote?

Also it doesn't have to be a defense pact, but an agreement or arrangement of some sort could be useful... bah BEHOLD FRAKEN VOTE

[X] Rin & Sakura
[X] Sit down. Talk.
[X] Lay all the cards on the table.
-[X] The stress you're seeing in them. Your part of the responsibility.
-[X] Sakura's animosity: How you took control of everything she held dear.
-[X] Your own reasons: Your Wish; the Magical Girl lot in life and improvement thereof; their group's abusive conducts.
-[X] Your regrets: Not what you did, but that you couldn't do better.
-[X] Your hopes: Recovery; quality of life improvements; friendship.
[X] With that said and given what you wish to improve you would like to offer making an … arrangement with them.
[X] Explain Pact with Yuki, plans for UG and WPN.
-[X] Explain it does not need to be a defense pact, it could be agreement to help with just hostile magical girls, or just an agreement on how to provide services like healing or teleporting.
-[X] They don't need an answer now, as it is any agreement would have to be made with Mami's consent, and they will likely want to discuss it among themselves anyway.

If that's what you get from that post, you're doing a pretty good job of injecting completely unrelated meaning into my words.

We've discussed at length what to do with the Tokyo council, and mostly came to the conclussion we should try and ask for help, diplomatically, and that in the case the Council opposes what's basically humanitarian aid the Tokyo Magical Girls need, out of pettiness, control issues, or whatever, that we should go ahead and spread the cleansing without their consent or help.

Because, you know, we're not gonna let Magical Girls witch out because a few of them want to keep their positions of power based on scarcity we can mostly-easily solve.

The loss of legitimacy from the Tokyo Council would be an obvious direct consequence if they try to stop us from helping the Magical Girls of Tokyo, and the Council should get that, if they have half an idea what they're doing.

So I am hopeful we will receive support from them, maybe even most of them. And really, this mirrors what's going on right now. Yuki sees Sabrina's powers and intentions and wants to make sure to benefit and rather than lose from it; I expect similar from the Toyko Council.

But the previous vote that lead to THIS vote was about making them an offer. Can we try to keep a plan straight for more then a single vote?

That kind of reasoning sounds questionable.

"Let's do this!"
"Actually, that sounds like a bad idea. Maybe we should re-think this?"
"But we've already started so we should just keep going."

I really don't want to make a vote. I've already been questioning about more than half the stuff I post. Insecurity is the worst.

[] Sure.
[] Ask Rin if everything is alright with her personally. She seemed kind of stressed. Also, Sakura seems even more upset with you than usual.
-[] Leadership can be pretty stressful. Especially when abrupt with many changes.
--[] She's doing better the most. Her friends are luck to have her.
-[] Ask about Akiko.
[] You're largely responsible for their current situation. Also, you can't keep your hands to
yourself.
-[] Offer help with anything if it's ever needed. Or wanted.
[] Mention that the UG group is doing a lot better now. They seem happy.

The part about responsibility is mostly because I'm pretty sure Sakura is going get mad about us butting in on personal matters. Partly explaining motivation. Didn't really explain about regrets because hoping that it's self-evident. Might make that explicit and add something in. Also, wanted to mention UG doing good but didn't want to make a big deal or speechify about it. Going to try subtlety for once.:V

well I don't think offering making some sort of agreement is a bad idea with Rin's group. It does NOT need to be a defense pact. So I'm saying that people are dropping the of the reason's we voted to talk to Sakura and Rin for no readily apparent reason.

Ehhh right now I feel like the last thing Sendai wants is more speeches from Sabrina. They've capitulated to our terms and teleport us around when we ask- I feel like sitting them down and talking at them more is just going to irritate them honestly.

Edit: Also only the willing for the battle with Walpurgisnacht. I wouldn't want to be responsible for someone going to what could be their death unless they truly were okay with it. (I don't frankly think Wally's going to be the real threat there, but we have to assume she'll be dangerous all the same)

Don't know why it's needed. Just offer help like usual. Whether it's beating invading meguca or whatever aiding them in whatever way. Not sure if you can just mention Walpurgis and then go "no you don't have help with that honest". Didn't go so well with Kyoko, from what I recall.

Perception and reality, I guess.

I think I might be doing the exact same thing I guess.:V

I give up. Hopefully more people, better than me, come in here and actually weigh in on this.

I... don't actually think that that's such a bad idea? The impression that I get from Sakura is that she doesn't really understand why we did what we did, she just thinks that we're interfering for the sake of interference. I'm still on board with trying to give Rin a boost. I think that this would do both and more.

Do we have time to do that right now? I feel like Yuki's waiting on us a bit.
I'm not sure she'll have it, but maybe we should ask Sakura to talk at some point, with time?

Not Rin. Not Rin and Sakura (unless they want). Just Sakura.

You know, you're doing a pretty good job justifying Sakura's contempt and dislike for Sabrina.

If she thinks its arrogant to point out that they were violently extorting people to the point of starvation, and even when their basis of justification (its them or us, we don't think we have enuff seeds) went away thanks to Sabrina they couldn't even tolerate a short trial run of trust (not like, if clear seed etc didn't work out, they couldn't just resume)....

DIAF Sakura. Its not arrogance if you were right, and you don't get to complain that someone interfered with your right to (harmfully) interfere with others xD

things like breaking into Ono's house

Oh deary me no! How could we ever kick in her door to stop her from accidentally starving herself into a painful worse-than-death unknowingly. You know...that part where her wish/powers she didn't turn off were going to kill* her in a week or less, and we basically handed her a cure and left.

Whats next for Ono, protesting outside of the fire department? Let me burn in peace!

Ono was handled poorly. After we established that her gem wasn't at immediate risk of hatching we could've taken an at least slightly less urgent approach like throwing rocks at her window.

Posting for the first time.

I don't get the impression that Sakura cares that much about Sendai's political position, or blames Sabrina for Akiko's fate. If I recall correctly, she was at her most helpful and least obnoxious immediately after we won and gemmed Akiko.

What she clearly cares about is Rin. And every time Sabrina decided to intervene, Rin was hurt in the aftermath. Is still hurting from having to assume leadership of the group, or at least that's how it must look to Sakura.

Apologizing to her or explaining our reasoning is unlikely to help, I feel. She's not stupid and understands why we did what we did. What has a chance of working is acknowledging how our actions have affected Rin, and offering support and redress (if she wants it).

Problem is, I don't think we can really do much to help her. It's not exactly a resource scarcity issue that we can just magic away with our power.

HI!
My answer is already written in, please let me put the question to you?

"What can Sabrina do to make Rin able to solve her own problem?"
"Did we already hear them tell us their complaint / trouble?"

I would like that criticized.

I think that the best way to acknowledge the problem we participated in is to help resolve that problem wisely.

Conflict of some lesser sort with Sakura is unavoidable, and we should embrace that, to choose a conflict that will resolve in a better relationship.

*drums fingers*

Well at least we're having a debate and multiple vote options this time around.

Vote options, everyone could, and ought to, consider as the individual's prerogative. Roll 'em if you got 'em.

Debate, I'd like more of. Go right ahead, it looks less canny if I debate without opposition. And might increase our BrnDmg total. That would be awful~~.

Re: Tokyo Council

We could prepare our plan and then, you know, just 'join.' Use their membership process to 'force' a meeting. The fact that their regulations apply to a system that we have begun to make irrelevant is going to make membership obligations a breeze! Instead of trying to get up on the podium, what we really need to do is get distribution routes for cleansing, while we expand our contact list.

Oriko, The Herald of Mitakihara, Speaks before thee!

Sabrina needs to get better at the small group Social, I think the Kures are going to have ambassador duties.

I wonder what would happen if we ever ask Sakura to explain, at length, without mincing words, all the things she dislikes about us?

of course, she can either bail (by temperament, given her power?) or give us almost-valid half-baked points that have more to do with her life, than with the actions of Sabrina.

Almost axiomatic? If Sabrina was clearly an aggressor, or the party at fault, I think she would have run with that.
She didn't. Only complaining and posturing, as I'm seeing it.

A "This is Why You Suck" speech, given in the form of improvisational waka poetry? Maybe even get Ono and Kyouko here for a contest of it, proper blossom-viewing style (would that make it renga?). Could be pretty entertaining at least ^_^

Minor adjustments:

[X] Rin, Sakura.
-[X] Thank them for their help.
-[X] Ask Rin how she's doing. Show concern.
-[X] Provide any advice or support or assistance that she needs.
-[X] If it seems appropriate and helpful to do so, you may:
--[X] Apologize for dropping the fallout on Rin's shoulders, back then.
--[X] Thank her trying to do the right thing.
--[X] Share that her decision has helped make a lot of people's lives better.
--[X] Remind her that there's a lot of good that she can do in the world now.
--[X] Address the source of Sakura's hostility. What would she have had us do?

I wasn't sure if it was clear before that "any support" Rin needs didn't just mean emotional support. If she needs logistical or financial or tactical or close air support, we can do that too.

Also, just as an aside -though I'm willing to be someone else already mentioned this- but it struck me while re-reading this quest, that I have to say that one of the most touching moments in this story is when we greeted Nadia in Darija.
She then turns to Homura, sitting on Mami's far side, and repeats the bow and the greeting. And then Sayaka, and then Madoka. They all bow back, and when Nadia reaches you...

You don't bow back.

Instead, you grin, touching your hand to your heart. "As-salām alaykum."

Nadia's eyes go wide in surprise, and then she grins. "Wa alaykum s-salām!" she responds.
To someone who travels as much as she does and spends so little time in any one location... being greeted in her mother tongue is probably one of the nicest, kindest things we could have possibly done for her. Before my own health cropped out, I did a lot of traveling -even if mostly in the northern hemisphere- but when you find someone who can greet you like that so far from home... it's a precious feeling.
