Okay, new plan:

  1. Generate energy levels around that of the Big Bang
  2. Stuff it all into a stadium
  3. When Wailuigi-Nacht comes around, stuff her in that stadium
  4. Launch the whole thing into orbit so everyone doesn't die of radiation poisoning

Why does this (especially 1 & 3) seem like it might create a whole new planet or something even crazier @_@? A few hundred souls and the ingredients for a new universe.... sure lets centrifuge it all! :V Kyubey can go harvest whatever pops out and leave Earth alone for a while?

Speaking of best buddy, are we gonna swap out the antimagic medallion that Anri is currently using with a new one that is tuned to Tsuruya? I mean it shouldn't be able to come in contact with Tsuruya's buildings anyways, but just in case?

So, when Homu told us to not lose, how much of that was encouragement, how much was "else Yuki won't deal with you", and hor much was "I'm following your lead because you succeed, you are not allowed to lose"?

It's nice that we're proving to Homu we're serious about getting allies for Walpurgisnacht.

"Which means I'll be limiting for collateral. I assume it's not so remote as to have no one around it?" you say. "I'd ask the same of you."
I'll note how Sabrina doesn't even wait for Yuki to answer here. "No part of your territory is sufficiently secluded for me to not hold back." Sabrina is throwing off ridiculous levels of implied threat in this update, it's great.

[] Bargain
-[] Actually? No, you just did the math, that's not even minimum wage for her girls. You're doubling it and you won't go a cent lower. It's a deal. *grab hand, shake hand*
-[] Oh, and she seems to have forgotten the antimagic bolas. Don't worry, she'll get those too, you want your allies to have nonlethal options.
-[] Telepathy Mami: You are the worst at haggling! Yuki has no idea how to handle real un-selfish generosity! It's hilarious!

I'm seriously considering voting for something like. Refuge in audacity.

[] Yuki
-[] Back to Mitakihara
-[] Introduce her to your friends
--[] Dain-bramagedly.

[] Yuki
-[] Back to Mitakihara
--[] Visit O&K first
--[] While you're there, quietly check with Oriko to see if she remembers any precog about Yuki.
-[] Introduce her to your friends
--[] After school
--[] Over pastries or tea or something

@Firnagzen How much time do we have until school is out? What's next on our schedule?

[] Rin and Sakura
-[] Start telling awful puns. See how long it takes Sakura to crack.

I got nothing.

edit: Actually, something else we should do:
[] Ask Yuki how long it'd take her to establish that "lesser nexus". No reason to keep Rin and Sakura around too long.

We were just talking about need for revenue in the Discord and the more deals we make the less money we have for each. I don't want to spend ourselves dry here only for our plans to fall through, or be cancelled due to some emergency, and then for us to run out of money.

Beside which, we are not their exclusive employer here. We're providing supplies and setting things up in a way so that they shouldn't need more. We're not paying for the work of five girls, we're paying for the work of one or two.

We should be looking for ways to ensure that our gold goes further, not less far.

Just a thought but... just how much of the Yakuza's money do we have left anyway? We've been spending a lot.
Well, each bar is worth probably around 40k USD or 4M yen, covering the 500k yen/month ask for more than six months. We have bars plural, I don't know exactly how many.

The conclusion I took away from that conversation was that it'd cost us approximately an afternoon to recover more than 500kg of random platinum-group metals, gold, and rare-earths, and that's assuming that direct nucleosynthesis via griefhax or grief-manip is insufficient. That's, uh, not what I call "short on cash". Especially given that the quest's scope is probably at most two-three more months.

I don't think we have that many? Also Yuki will have problems converting that kind of gold into cash so we're going to be penalized.
...Hm. You're right, she knows we're paying in gold and we're not negotiating an exchange rate, so that's already accounted for by the quote.

We have six 1000g gold bars (based on the "size of index and middle finger out together" description, a kilogram bar fits best of the ones in common use.)

They're valued at, as Veb said, around 50k USD each.

Eeeeeh. I really think we need to start considering our finances better.
Search around Wikipedia for a while. Do some math to figure out orbital parameters and angles. Grab Mami. Fly out to the asteroid belt. Find the M-class asteroid we're going to devour. Surround it in a grief shell, vaporize it, centrifuge the hell out of the gas, maybe use grief to finish the process, then cool it off by doing a maxwell's demon impression. Return to earth with hundreds to thousands of kilos each of gold, platinum, iridium, rhodium, and others, worth literally billions of dollars. Done. Finance is not a problem and it will never be a problem.

And, again, that's if we can't spend fifteen minutes to griefhax a box that sucks in air, magically rearranges protons and neutrons, and spits out gold.

The various plans involved in mineral extraction involve:
1: Gold from seawater, which requires covering a hell of a lot of territory, (as there are 38 pounds of gold per cubic mile) and figuring out molecular sorting
2: Minerals the earth's mantle, which requires both being in the earth's mantle and whatever else is required for extraction there and
3: Gold from asteroids, which is a far simpler as it just requires dragging the thing back with us, but still leaves us a million miles away and unable to solve any problems that arise in town while we're away. *gestures pointedly at Feathers and numerous other, lesser threats.*

We can count our chickens after they hatch. Up until the moment the resources are in hand, we don't have them and shouldn't act like it.

Then we take Homura with us too.

Seriously, these are not hard problems to solve.

edit: And yet again we only need to fall back on mineral extraction if we can't griefhax a box that rearranges oxygens into golds. You need to prove that all plans fail, not that any individual plan fails. And I think that I'm a hell of a lot more likely to come up with a workable plan within the given time limit than you are to prove that it's impossible.

edit edit: If you really, really want to, I think that we have time to sit down and griefhax that box right now. Maybe teleport back to Mitakihara first so we're not inconveniencing Rin and Sakura. I'm up for it if you are.

So... I would rather not bring up that we could be paying more... unless we also bring up the possibility of exclusivity. We can pay a lot more... if they agree to work for/with us, and nobody else.So pay them actual salaries, be more confident that they won't pull anything questionable on the side.

Though I think Yuki's already thinking about how to do away with the dirty jobs.

If we do things right, we should end up bringing a feeling of safety and stability to Yuki and co.. They made the best out of a horrible situation, but even if they were around the top, they were still mercenaries. Now we're kind of destroying their way of life, but we could give them something they've lacked for a long time, to.

We should probably talk about future threats with Yuki soon. About Iowa, for example; we could prepare plans and contingencies in order to deal with enemy meguca groups?

On the issue of money, I'd rather go on trip with Homumom. Because Homumom.

Vote in abeyance:
-[X] Provisionally agree, invite Yuki to Mitakihara for ratification by Mami, tailored antimagic, and Airi transport.
--[X] Provide Clear Seed - it's not contingent on the rest of the deal. Usual safety warnings.

Previous vote in abeyance:
-[x] Finalize:
--[x] Mind Homura's advice. Haggle, erring on the side of generosity.
-[x] Discuss hiring them again in the future.
--[x] Ask about payments/services they're interested in. You're assembling a team to tackle Walpurgisnacht.
[x] Chat topics (intersperse as appropriate):
-[x] "Supervillains"... just volcano base aesthetic, or something more? What other groups are in town?
-[x] The active soul in Grief Seeds "hibernates" when you Clear them. Whenever you visit, you'd like to check if that's changed.
[X] Rin (private?).
-[X] We never really thanked for what she did, despite how we put her on the spot.
-[X] Thank and acknowledge her for her efforts: Standing up to her friends; taking charge of a difficult situation; doing the right thing.
-[X] We owe her. Show concern, ask what's wrong.
[x] Kyuubey.
-[x] Dump Grief. Keep two seed's worth.

Have we considered a sickle theme for our fill-the-room-with-blades power, Castlevania-style?

Or would that combined with our hammer create an inappropriate message of, "I am Death, but also Communism"?
