Random though: Isn't it great how O&K have this amazing ability to split in two and be in two places at the same time?

Like, any normal person wouldn't be able to be here talking with us in the Privacy Sphere, while at the same time guarding Anri at the other Privacy Sphere.

Meanwhile, O&K can separate into an Oriko terminal and a Kirika terminal, which grants O&K the capacity to deal with two tasks simultaneously, and not even our Privacy Barrier (nor even two of them!) can stop O&K!

Sure, but that not the impression we're going to be giving. "If breaking into an allied group and gassing a bunch of civilians isn't crossing the line, what is?" To be clear, I'm not discussing how harsh our actual treatment is, just the optics of it externally.
Since there's only so many meguca, I believe our approach to them can be a lot more personal than if we, say, had to justify our actions to the actual population of a city.

We can actually explain what we are doing and why, and have friends and contacts that would do as well.

Furthermore... it's one thing to want to uphold PR, another to let it dictate our actions.

There are plenty of meguca out there who are way beyond the line. They can be examples to meguca looking to toe the line, why they shouldn't. We're not gonna give, say, the Iowa group the soft treatment. I'm pretty sure fixing their issues is so far beyond our capabilities, at least for now, that we're gonna need to Gem them. In the public eye, we'll basically make them disappear. That could serve as an example.

Anri gassed a building and took a man hostage, it shouldn't take too much police work to link her to those crimes.
Kyubey has already rewritten the memories of everyone involved to believe that it was a carbon monoxide leak. Law enforcement will be of no use in this situation. (Committing her to a psych ward might have merit, since anything she says will already sound like crazy talk.)

Here's a question: does Anri have parents? They're probably wondering what happened to their daughter. Could they be convinced that their daughter is out of control and needs to be "grounded"?

Mmm...
"It was nothing." Oriko shrugs, almost modest. Then again, you can see the spark of accomplishment and the tiny, satisfied smirk on her lips.
"And again, it was nothing," Oriko says, waving it off.
[Q] Headpat Oriko?

:V

Urge to '[] Hug Oriko' rising!

"She knows," Oriko confirms. "And among other things, she believed that the Pleiades had the ability to transform magical girls into Witches. She was rather intent on gaining that ability for herself, in fact.
OK so, we totally need to make sure Anri is informed that this is badwrong and we need to disabuse her from following this line of action.

I.e. explain how this is a torture beyond anything imaginable (offer to Clear Arzt Kochen btw, explaining how it mitigates the torture aspect of Witchdom), literally worse than torturing someone to death.

An ultimatum might even be appropriate.

"She is willing to surrender in the face of a promise to bring Yuuri back," Oriko says. "I took care to impress on her that it was not guaranteed, but she seized upon the idea. She... cares more for her friend than she does her vengeance, and is willing to compromise for her. It's the only thing that Anri was willing to grant."
[Q] "Why didn't you wish Yuuri back, then, Anri? Uh, UH?"

You know, at some point Anri is gonna have to face the fact Yuuri would be utterly horrified at her actions. Yuuri would have protected the people Anri just gassed.

Or the fact Yuuri witched herself unknowingly just because she wanted to help people. It's not the Pleiades' fault, not Anri's fault, not Yuuri's fault. It's all KB. But of course, Anri sees KB as the one who gave her the chance to get her revenge, the one who enabled her to take action, to do what she wanted. :|

So I guess the first part of the plan is our time honored tradition.

[ ] Hug Oriko before leaving the Privacy Sphere.

:p

(For real, I like seeing Oriko feeling proud of herself.)

I mean the time honored tradition of:
, of course.

[ ] Telepathy Nadia. Briefly explain the situation. Consult about meguca containment.
-[ ] Update her on whether we'll be personally there to receive her or not.
-[ ] Ask about how our treatment of Anri would affect our meguca PR.

(What time is it?)

The problem with calling in a parent-strike is that Anri doesn't even look like their daughter any more, in addition to being crazy and having magic.

I assume she's not doing a lot of communicating with her parents.

Obviously we'd have to demonstrate that magic is real and explain how she changed her appearance. And the antimagic and tracking enchantments are still going to be there.

So I like the effect DOING SOMETHING GOOD had on Oriko.

I would like to take a moment, not necessarily right now before stepping out of the Spehere, but very soon, this very morning, to... talk about our relationship, her place in out group of friends, and on the team.

I would like to:

- Ask Oriko to fulfil the Social role of the team. I'd like to offer her this position, of being the one who talks sense into people when everybody else just doesn't know how to deal with them.

- Tell her we're friends.

- Talk about how her action's today should help sway Sayaka's opinion of her. With luck, that'll help sway Homura's opinion in the not-too-long term.

- Hug the girl. :p

- Ask how she's feeling RE: Soul twisting flustercuck; house arrest.

Seriously, we need more Oriko feels. ;)

Also, before I forget, we need to chat with Kirika about how our respective dates went. Her at home with Oriko, us with Mami at the retaurant. Chat with Best Buddy!

Um, crazy idea, but before we try to figure out where to put her, we could make sure she even NEEDS supervised imprisonment? If she's onboard with Dewitching, could we swing by her, "Look, stay out of trouble in Warehouse-kun so I know where to find you for Dewitching experiments. No bullshit, you behave and I provide for you"?

I mean that's effectively what we did for Oriko.

I'm kind of arguing for this but with some security measures added in. Anri did almost kill a lot of peoole.

It might help to talk with Anri, but I'm not sure she won't react badly, or that we'll get anything out of it.

If the discussion with Homura and the Pleiades seems to support that, and she comes off as sane and reasonable when we personally talk to her, then maybe.

She apparently still wants to witch other magical girls out for revenge, though, so, uh....

Putting her in Oriko's warehouse hideout (not Warehouse-kun, which is not furnished or otherwise fit for habitation), with a magical ankle bracelet so we know if she tries to leave, maybe even sealing all the exits with ribbons... that might work.

Emphasis on might.

We were basically able to make Oriko's imprisonment on the honor system because she wasn't actually crazy or malevolent. That's not really the case with Anri.

I would feel a lot safer if Airi had a minder of some sort. Ideally, someone witchbombed. As is, the only real thing we can threaten her with is sudden Homu if she steps out of line, and even a crazy person will soon figure out that the threat's a bluff.

Hopefully if we play the "I made my wish to stop magical girls from becoming witches and try to reverse it" angle hard enough, she'll become more willing to play along.

The question is, who can we assign as a minder that she'll actually listen to? The reason I thought of her parents is that there might be some slim hope that they could get through to her.

We really need to hurry up and recruit a trained psychiatrist.

You know, if we ever figure out that Nadia knows the Witchbomb, we should really try to get info on whether she has her own system of detecting witchbomb'd girls, and whether she'll share them.

Also [ ] Hug the Oriko

I have convinced her, in order, that Witches arise from magical girls without human intervention, and that the Pleiades do not have the ability to force magical girls to become Witches."

Anri does not seem to be fully witchbombed herself, that is that Oriko didn't state that Anri knows that without cleanses any and all Magical Girls will witch out.

Considering how much interest Anri showed in Witching other girls out, it would make sense for Oriko to have left her in the dark on that.

Eh. If you really want to confine Anri to one location, that's actually logistically simple.

Get a big, strong safe. Put her soul gem inside it, taped to a clear seed. Bury the safe underneath the area she's to be confined in.

Presto! She can't get outside the confinement zone until she digs up the safe and breaks into it, which combined with an anti-magic enchantment to prevent her from doing that easily, should keep her pretty contained. If she tries to step outside the zone and her body gets too far from her soul gem, she goes inactive until someone finds her. Send somebody to check on her once a day or so, and make sure she's not up to trouble or digging a tunnel.

She may or may not take that well, but it would be pretty secure without outside help, and doesn't require someone to sit around pointing a shotgun at her 24 hours a day.

We might as well talk to her ourselves. Both to see if we can convince her further of things that are still shaky, and because we can't really move forward without seeing how agreeable she is with the Dewitching Carrot.

Re: Airi's parents: She wished to become Asuka Yuuri. It's highly probable that 'Anri Airi' was retgone'd in much the same way as Niko was.

Exactly this. We don't really need a minder for her unless she's at any risk of escaping. Make a metal band around her ankle and enchant it with anti-magic, put her soul gem somewhere inaccessible, and you wouldn't even technically need to lock her up. And it's not like there's no way to keep her monitored from a distance. Combine it with the warehouse where you can put up things like home security cameras or baby monitors that could be bought from stores at short notice and it's not really necessary to have an actual person dedicated to keeping watch on her. and as I've mentioned before, it would be a good idea to have a standard procedure that doesn't require a one-to-one ratio of wardens and prisoners for the frankly inevitable eventuality that we run into more magical girls who have problems but we still want to help and keep alive.

Not that we want to just leave her there or anything, we can arrange to visit her regularly and give her plenty of time outside the warehouse with an actual minder. But a 24/7 watch on her would be a ridiculous waste of someone's time.

I do want to say I'm glad how everyone's so... okay with our secretiveness in this update.

I got an idea. If we can ensure she remains trackable, we can play Queen Mab. 3 Favors then the tracker goes. Leaving Mitakihara without our permission or preying upon the residents = gemming. Favors to some degree negotiable., as an alternative to 9 weeks being gemmed. Use at least 2 favors for something that relates to dewitching.
