So then yeah
Really the only thing we can do to move this mess forward is to give her a clear seed
It can be Yuuri's if people want it to be, but she's never going to accept anything else
I mean, I agree that I don't think we have a move that will convince her fully, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't make the attempt.
The more we act in good faith now, the easier it will be for us when she does cotton on that she's could be wrong. If we give her a clear seed and claim that it's Yuuri (also confirming we tricked her!), we're
fucked later. If we give her a clear seed after demonstrating they aren't unique, trying to persuade her about the other seed, and continuing to insist that it isn't Yuuri, then if she does have doubts eventually we're in the relative clear.
"You get an impression of the other person," she says slowly, blushing. "Of them in... human language lacks words to explain it. In, in a transcendental way."
"Yeah, pretty much," you say, nodding in agreement.
"... if the Grief Seed is... drowning in Grief, then wouldn't your impression be of overwhelming despair?" Niko points out.
"Which is exactly what I felt," you say, blinking. "Huh. Never thought about it in those terms before. I... you may be on to something, but I'm not sure what-"
You just happen to be staring over Niko's shoulder, at the hazy world beyond, at exactly the right time to notice Kirika emerging from the interrogation privacy sphere. She looks faintly frazzled, hunting around the rooftop before noticing your privacy field with Mami and Sayaka standing nearby.
So just so we remember at what point in the conversation we were interrupted.
[] Anri
-[] Lend Kirika Hildegard and Apate to prove that they're not unique.
-[] Alternately, Anri
might be able to feel Yuuri by channeling magic into the seed, albeit with despair feedback. Careful with this - would require relaxing antimagic and cleansing her gem.
-[] You'd clear Yuuri's seed in front of her if they think it would prove anything, up to them.
-[] If she's still stupid, she can have Hildegard
for now, but they should continue to insist on the truth.
[] Niko
-[] To go back to where we were, you've removed the grief so no drowning in despair, but that just makes what's left inside inactive. You haven't tried magic-contacting it, maybe that's a way to confirm. Alternately, reactivate it...somehow. Thoughts?
-[] End conversation with blanket support and a commitment to talk more another time.
Thoughts?
