I've always had a feeling something was up. My paranoia is going off every time I reread what Hijiri has said.

Is there anything we can say that could potentially throw Hijiri off balance? Get her to slip, and reveal something? If I remember correctly, she was pretty devastated when she found out why Niko wished her into existence.

Also,

I see we've uh, made it to Asunaro! Forwards and back, with more friends and new problems! Mah, it's nice to see nothing's changed.
Actually, several of us have ingested the Ugofruit and gained enormous powers in Social in return for being cursed to never be calm when discussing social ever again.

The good news is I found the One Piece. The bad news is I got lost bringing it back and I think I'm in a stellaris universe now because there's a molesty drug-addled fungus trying to befriend me. The Ugofruit was a mistake.

E: Also I got a progress tracker for Persona 5.5 (working title), but that's unrelated to PMAS.

I'm not sure how much time we've got before the Pleiades get here, and afterwards, there's gonna be some drama.

... Drama which might put Hijiri off balance.

If we ask questions then, it'll probably be harder for her to hide anything.
I think it's worth noting, conversely, that said drama could easily maker her clam up depending on how it goes. Remember what Vebyast posted: Rapport is needed to properly interrogate her, but if this turns into an argument or a fight against her it will go the worse for it.

I think we should also talk about restraints. For all the talk of not handcuffing her, she is currently pinned to a wall with paper and grief. Which isn't exactly better.

So... Mmm... I haven't got far enough into my PMKM re-read, so what was Hijiri's Wish, specifically? 'Connect' with the Pleiades, yadda yadday, what does that mean? What's the intent?

Since she's got their powers...
According to the wiki, Hijiri's canon wish is: "I want the power to connect to others without drawing attention. I'll watch (Niko) and burn her death into my eyes!!"

Which, if this is anything similar, means reconciliation without wish rejection is likely going to be a trial and a half.

A possibility is that Hijiri's been using Yuuri; Yuuri broke into the lab, they didn't go in together.

Hijiri's claiming Yuuri was the one behind everything while Hijiri was using Yuuri instead.

Yuuri stole the Memory Device for Hijiri, and also likely took the Clear Seed without telling Hijiri about it. Hijiri doesn't know what a Clear Seed is.
Personally I read that as shift from "she" to "we" as Hijiri trying to blame Yuuri alone and thinking better of it.

I'm just, catching up! And totally not hyperventilating, no sirree

So, if Homura's power is to stop time, and it's driven by her conception of what "stopped time" means, then she must necessarily not know of or at least not understand Einsteinian physics.

If she does, that implies some odd things about the universe, since Homura, now stopped in time, should begin to fly at some pretty incredible speeds, to say nothing of the fusion events that moving should be causing.

So, uh, we're going to investigate that at some point right? Because it could have some crazy interesting implications.

Given how advanced Mitakihara Middle's curriculum is (and some things @AuraTwilight has said about Homura), I'm going to hazard a guess that when Homura made her Wish, she didn't yet understand Einsteinian physics, and/or by the time she did learn that subject matter, she had internalized that magic != physics-abiding.

I could go into a big spiel about how magic is reality warping in nature, and therefore doesn't apply to the laws of physics on a one-to-one scale, but I think this picture would suffice better.

Homura's power works the way her internalized intuitive mental model of "stopped time" works. (Or, rather, worked at the time of her wish. It doesn't update or change over time.) This does not in any way imply that she doesn't understand how relativity works - I like to think I have a fairly solid grasp on relativity for a non-physicist, but I have a mental model of DIO/Sakuya Izayoi style fictionalized stopped time just the same, which includes such obvious oddities as being able to see and breathe.

Still thinking, hmm. On the one hand, only 130 words. On the other hand, clearly way too much stuff in it.

[] Standing votes:
-[] Check Hijiri's Witch name when possible
-[] Multitask like you're cheating at EVE.

[] Telepathy to allies:
-[] Hijiri's accusing Yuuri. Something smells fishy.
-[] Request Kazumi and Niko, everyone else keep looking.

[] Ask Hijiri to put you in contact with Yuuri. Be affably evilbrina. Except not evil.
-[] See if you can provoke an evil-motivation monologue.

[] Talk to Hijiri. Be empathybrina.
-[] Reassure wrt peace on earth for all meguca-kind, Niko, and fair treatment.
-[] Apologize, but you have to keep gathering information on Yuuri.

[] When Pleiades arrive:
-[] Mediate. Try to get Niko and Hijiri talking.
-[] Continue asking useful questions.

[] Across all: gather and cross-reference information
-[] Targets:
--[] Niko being followed.
--[] Motivations for various thefts.
--[] Wishes and power-sets.
--[] Times and places - where and when did people learn about each other, etc.

--[Q] And it's not Sayaka, I think!
-[] Request everyone keep searching, besides Kazumi and Niko.

[] Hijiri:
-[] Apologize, we need her cooperation until this crisis is solved.
-[] Reassure her. We just want to stop whoever hurt our friends. Us capturing her was a self fulfilling prophecy.
-[] Offer help if she cooperates.
-[] Ask her to put us on contact with Yuuri.
-[] Briefly explain Niko's feelings towards Hijiri. She's not an experiment.

-[] Mediate as necessary. Help keep things calm.

Editing in quotebox means I can't quote you, so I guess responses.

I think that, if we're going to ask to speak to Yuuri, we want to do it A) quickly and B) at the same time as everything else. Which probably means doing it during this vote. That said, I'm not sure we can vote for anything there until we get at least a couple paragraphs of exposition from her. That's why I depended so heavily on the "Across all" at the bottom.

I've heard a lot about this quest from the Madoka community at Spacebattles, so I decided to come over and-- *sees five-thousand pages* :o Oh, uh... Is there any kind of summary to get up to speed on things?
