"Yes, Mrs Shizuki?" Mami asks, unruffled calm still firmly in place.

"You're all magical girls, aren't you?" Mrs Shizuki asks. "Oh, don't look so surprised. I was a teenager once too, you know."
Interesting.

Aw fuuuuuck. That means that she had a friend that was a magical girl. And that means that she had a friend that was a magical girl.
A bit of a reach there, but I can see how you jumped to that. If so, though, why didn't the Incubator modify her memories all those years ago?

Hm, weird. Not really bad though.

Might as well say yes and ask her how in the name of Madokami she knows that.

We finally have an explanation for Hitomi being taught that girls can't love girls.

Her mother must have known that girls loving other girls is one of the risk factors leading to magical girldom. :V

Anyway jokes aside I was not expecting this. It's great.

Like logically of course there have to be adults who were the muggle friend when they were teens but I'd never actually thought of that before.

That doesn't seem like that much of a reach. She isn't one herself, so being the friend (or sister?) of a magical girl who wanted her to keep her memories seems like one of the only ways she'd know about magical girls. And magical girls don't generally have very long lifespans...

You turn to spot an older version of Hitomi. Well, not quite. Hitomi's cheekbones probably came from her father. Hitomi's mother -and it must be- has hair a vibrant, bright green,
GREEN HAIR IS THE DANGER!
pulled into a loose ponytail over one shoulder.
...to itself? Doomed Anime Mom Hair! Poor Hitomi! She's going to become a protagonist some day! :o

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! WHAT DO?! WHAT DO?!

[X] ????
-[X] ????

No point in lying I guess. How do we play this? Do we go all stereotypical "EEEEEEEEH?!?!?!", or do we go for a nonplussed "Why yes, we are. Astute observation miss Shizuki!".

I'm not sure we can or should play down the genuine shock. This could also gives us an interesting bit of insight into the last generation of magical girls in the city, not that it strictly matters given magical girl history unfortunately reads like the big book of horrible ways to die, but it may be a way to get in touch with other people who've been touched by the magical world. Fascinating.

Blue screen of death?

Blue screen of death.

Should probably put something after it so we dont go into a coma and scare Mami.

First thought.

"HitoMom is Guca?" Then, I realized she could have just noticed that everyone's wearing matching rings.

Funny how that turns out.

[X] ????
-[X] ????
--[X] ????!

Sabrina knows best.
We should deadpan that they are actually mood rings, and that they only stay the same because everyone is a one dimentional character.

[] "Well, that certainly makes plan: 'talk to an adult/tell the parents' easier."

It certainly adds a new dimension to the looks she's been giving us and the Asunaro crew.

[] Ha! Ha! Magical Girls! Like on those cartoons! How Fanciful!
- [] No, we're just perfectly ordinary juvenile delinquent lesbian schoolgirls with no obvious adult supervision and inexplicable access to material and financial resources!
- [] Telepathy Mami to tie everyone up with ribbons, and then flee

As soon as she glanced at our hands I figured she knew about magical girls. I was a bit confused when Sabrina started relating it to girls loving girls instead.

We should probably assure her that hitomi isn't a potential. Oh and tell her about walpurgis nacht, the Shizuki's help with evac and housing and stuff could be invaluable.

I wonder if we can do something to make them, or even just other ones, into really good mood rings. Mami could probably make really good ones out of hard ribbons.

If we want to take over/replace those gangs we were stealing from we should mandate that they wear rings like ours at some point.

Oh duh, much better "wry comment" option.
[] "Well, that certainly makes explaining why we asked Hitomi to help us set up an apartment for two out of towners easier."

That would better explain her "I was once a teenager" thing, since the average teenager doesn't actually know what's up. Transforming would be a good way to be sure we're not talking at cross purposes.

Good idea.

Vote outline. Plan "Full Disclosure"

[] Yes.
-[] Transform
-[] Explain the current situation (eg Mami rules Mitakihara, Sayaka is a meguca, Kazumi's group is visiting from Asurano)
-[] Her daughter is aware but only became so recently - she doesn't have the potential to become a magical girl so you don't have to worry
-[] Explain who we are (eg probable wish construct, our wish and powers)
-[] Hint about the potential danger of exposing meguca to infohazards like the Kazumi group potentially not knowing the true nature of soul gems in case she knows the witchbomb)
-[] Hint at our plans (eg meguca apartments?)

Edit: Obsolete. See revised version below.
